There was a buzz around Wharton. Which normally only meant two things. There was something going on with the thunderbirds or there was a school break coming up.
In this case it was the second option. It was now the second week of may which meant there was only three more weeks of school before summer vacation. Everyone was preparing for the end of year exams that would take place in a week so that the results were sent home with you.

You'd expect to find the nerds in the library and the jocks on the field. However the football team could be found in the library pulling three tables together while other students were dotted all over the place. Teachers that passed by would smile at the sight and leave as quietly as they came. It was only now that Alan Tracy was in the team that the team actually cared about their studies.
Despite how Alan had acted in the past, he was a smart boy and he did well in his lessons. The only thing that let him down was his behaviour. He would space out in lessons but he still knew exactly what was going on with the lesson. Then there was his pranks which he still conducted now but on a different scale.

So all the times his dad had yelled at him about grades and told him he was in trouble, it had all been a cover up. He would get Fermat to make a second report and make his grades look worse and give that one to his dad. Then he woukd guve his real one to John as soon as he could.

The football season had ended and he was now focusing on making sure that his team all passed their classes so that they could all have a good summer and could plan their futures.
Overall Alan thought about others before he thought about himself.

They had all retreated back to Alan's dorm room to discuss their summer plans. One it was comfy and spacious and two it was private so they could discuss Alans summer.
They were all chatting about what colleges the two seniors on the team had been accepted to when Alans communicator began to buzz. However it was buzzing in a different tone and it was vibrating. Alan froze and stared at the communicator in fear. Fermat was scared too but knew he had to answer.
"Alan a..a..answer him. J..just breath th..they'll be okay" Fermat announced
"Your right Fermat, but what if they are hurt bad. This is the emergency tone" Alan announced before answering.

John was the one that appeared when he answered and they could see he was in flight gear and he looked stressed.
"John what happened" Alan asked
"I take it you haven't been watching the television then" John summerised
"No we were studying and then headed up to my dorm to chat" Alan explained
"There was an accident Alan" John announced
"What do you mean accident John" Alan asked quietly
"Alan I need you to remain calm for me" John pleaded
"JOHN TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED" Alan yelled
"It's Gordon" John breathed
"Thats it I'm packing up" Alan announced
"No Alan he wants you to remain in school. I'm not even supposed to tell you" John begged
"Explain" Alan demanded
"Gordon doesn't want to worry you and stress you out so he didn't want to tell you" John explained
"What happened to him" Alan asked
"He was hit in the head by falling debris and hit his back when he collapsed" John told him
"How am I supposed to remain at school when he's in hospital, and he better be in a proper hospital or in gonna kill all of you" Alan announced
"He's in a hospital and they're keeping his identity hidden as been as he came in when on a mission" John explained
"Fine but I want updates and I want to talk to him within the hour" Alan announced angrily.
"I'll make sure he contacts you. He won't be able to show images of your surrounding as he will have a nurse with him but he will be able to contact you" John told Alan
"Thats enough for me" Alan announced before hanging up.

Alan sighed as he hung up the call and then punched the wall and then collapsed on his bed.
"Stupid squid sense"
"Alan he's o..only looking out f..f..for you"
"Im not a little kid anymore Fermat neither of us are so I just wish they'd stop treating us like we are"
"B..but Alan we a..a..always will be t..to them. They r..r..brought you up a..and I've g..g..grown up around them" Fermat explained
"Yeah well when did that suddenly mean they could stop me from caring and worrying about them. If they're allowed to smother me when I get injured on mission then I should be allowed to aswell"
"As I see it Alan. They don't want to stress you out with exams coming up and your the youngest so they want to protect you whether that's from physical harm or the emotional harm of your brother being in hospital" Tyler announced
"Not much harm this can do. I've seen him paralysed and I'm fine" Alan announced
"Maybe they don't want to bring up the emotions that you had when that occured" Tyler went on
"Maybe" Alan sighed
