Moving forward (mostly)
Hi guys
Sorry for the late update. I had hoped to get some writing done in my spare time but it appears that the medication I've been put on had some side effects.
Although I'm only having the common side effects at the moment it still causes me to be sluggish and not my normal self 100% of the time.
I'll aim to get more written on my days off and the evenings after work.

The room was painfully quiet for a while.
So quiet that people in the corridor hurried past it. They knew it wasn't worth it to even look in the direction of the occupants of the room.
After a while the silence was broken. Broken by Alan actually. He couldn't bare to sit there in awkward silence anymore. It was unnerving and it made him want to be anywhere else but here.
"Gordon" Alan hesitantly spoke up.
With the sound of Alan's voice everyone's heads snapped in his direction. No one had expected him to be the first one to talk.
"Gordon ... can you stop blaming the school please" Alan announced.
"They're not to blame. It's no one's fault other than nature" Alan went on.
He stared up at Gordon, looking him in the eye and trying to convey his feelings. He wanted him to understand that he loved his school and the friends he had there. He didn't want to have to go to a new school and try to make new friends all over again.
"I know Sprout. I know. I guess I was just angry and shocked that this had happened. The school might not be to blame for the earthquake but they're to blame for other things" Gordon told him while he sat on the edge of the bed.
"I can see that you love it there and I understand that you don't want to move schools again. I'm ... We're just worried about you sprout. Your the youngest, it's our job to keep you safe" Gordon told him.
"I know Gord, I can see that and I can now see that none of you stopped caring for me too" Alan announced as he made eye contact with his brothers.
"Of course not Sprout your our little brother, we never stop loving or worrying about you" Scott announced as he rested a hand on his shoulder.
"How much longer do I have to stay here. I'm fine really, all I need checked is my shoulder. Everything else is minor and Paint can deal with easily" Alan asked as he looked up at Scott.
"Your asking the wrong person about that Al. I'll go grab a doc and then once he's seen to you and Space case gives the go ahead we'll take you and Fish back to base" Scott told him before heading off to get the doctor that had been avoiding them.
It was quiet again as they waited for Scott to return. Jeff hadn't dared to approach Alan after what had been said. He could see his faults and he had no idea how to fix them. Yet he knew they needed to be fixed quickly. If they weren't then International Rescue and the family unit was sure to suffer due to the tension within the family. It was clear that the boys had resolved their issues. There may be work ahead to smooth everything over and sort out everyhting bit steps had been taken. It was clear to everyone that they were close, maybe closet than they had been in a long time.
But could Jeff ever be that close to his boys again was the question in Jeff's mind.
I know I know it's short but it's what I've managed to come up with at this moment of time. However I already have plans for the coming chapters and I hope to get them out soon, very soon.
Shannon
