Most of the team had left the dorm room by 6pm. The only ones who had remained were Brody, Chris and Tyler. They were chatting calmly when Alans communicator began to buzz.

Gordon P.O.V nearly an hour earlier

I had told everyone that no one was to tell Alan anything about the accident as I knew what he would do once he knew I was injured.

Unfortunatley for me I didn't make sure John wouldn't contact him.
"Hey fish" John spoke from my communicator.
"Yeah space case" I asked and everyone turned to my communicator.
"I told the sprout" he announced.
There was silence for a few minutes.
"WHAT!!!!" I yelled.
"Fish he had a right to know. I was the one with the decency to tell our baby brother that you were injured so don't yell at me. You weren't the one who had to see the worry and fear in his face before I even told him" John told us angrily.
"What?" I asked confused.
"The emergency tone set him into a state of worry and fear cause he knows exactly what it means. I've spoken to him and he will remain in school, he's with his team and they're there for him" John told me.
"Oh man" I moaned.
"Yeah oh man. Tell me who was with you a few years back when you were hurt" John asked.
"Aw shit" I cursed.
"Yeah so you have the job of calling him within the next hour otherwise he's going to track you to your location and rip you a new one" John announced before he disappeared.

For half an hour I was prodded by the doctors. I told them they had 40 mins as I needed to call someone after that. A nurse sat at the foot of my bed watching me. She knew my identity, she was one of 3 staff here that had been told. She didn't know who the others were though.
I reached over on my communicator and started the dreaded call to Alan. I really didn't want to do this. Alan was always worried about me when it concerned my back. I hadn't realised that I had zoned off till I heard the shout.
"FISH!! What the hell are you sure you've had that head checked out" Alan announced.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine I was just thinking about something" I told him.
"In other words you were over thinking" Alan taunted.
"Shut up sprout" I moaned.
"Hole in one to me" He teased.
"Very funny" I groaned
"Why have you banned me from coming to see you" Alan asked in a sad voice.
"Sprout. I don't want to worry you. I remember how you reacted last time I had a mishap and it involved my back" I told him.
"But fish I have a right to be worried" Alan announced in annoyance.
I sighed as I knew he was right.
"I know that but you have exams in a few days. You need to remain in school" I told him.
"I know that. I just wish you would of told me instead of trying to hide it from me" Alan told me
"Hey, hey listen to me buddy. I love you okay you know that. You know the only reason I hid it from you was because I care for you." I told him straight up.
"I love you too fish" He told me before going on "Please don't hide something like this from me again though" He pleaded.

"

I won't bud I'll tell you next time" I promised him
"Okay. I've got to go I need to go down for dinner and then I need to revise more" Alan announced.
"Alright we'll talk more later. You need to concentrate on your studies" I told him
"I will don't you worry. If I didn't space case would kill me" Alan announced.
"Yeah he would. Alright sprout I'll let you go now. I love you bud"i told him
"Alright. Love you too" Alan said in goodbye.

I turned my communicator back on vibrate and looked up. The nurse was staring at me with her head cocked to the side. I raised an eyebrow at her.
"You care for your team, especially the youngest" she announced.
"Of course we're very close" I told her.
"I see" she said before going back the her book.

Alans P.O.V straight after the call

Alan sighed and looked up at his friends. They patted him on the back and headed off to dinner. He wished he could see Gordon face to face so he would know for himself how he was. Little did he know that wish was going to come true soon but not in the way he had hoped.
