New Home, New Family, New Personality
I first saw darkness. Black everywhere. "Greetings, (Y/n)." I jumped. The voice was like the mash-up of a girl and a boy. "Who the FHECK are you?! WHERE the fheck are you?!" I yelled out of panic. "You are going to go to a new Home, and a new world." the voice said, ignoring my question. For now I'll call it 'Wtf'. "What? The fheck you mean?" I said. Yes, I 'swear' a lot. Quote unquote 'swear' because I censor it. Usually.
"You won't be yourself. You'll be someone else, but it's still you." "Heh?" I said in a weird tone to show my confusion. "You will have fifth-eight of control on you," 'Wtf' ignored me again, "There will be instances where things will jump out of your mouth, or skills you never had." they explained. "Okay..." I trailed off, letting myself flow with the river of this shet.
Silence rang around. After quite the long time, I assumed 'Wtf' was gone. Suddenly, a paper fell down, but this time, just like a rock instead of the usual floating down. Once I got a look of it, it was actually the letter at the beginning of the game. In the background, the music box that usually plays at the beginning starts to play. The letter went like this,
Dear Raivis,
It's been awhile since the last letter you sent me. What's it like living at Mr. Braginsky's place? Is he really as scary as everyone says he is? He always has that smile on his face, so he can't be that scary.
I heard it snows there all the time though. You're so lucky! I wish I had snow days to look forward to... It's been raining nonstop here for the past few days. Arthur won't let me go outside while it's raining, so there's nothing fun to do. It's so boring!!
At least Alfie, Mattie and (N/n) are there to play with me. It beats only having Arthur and Francis around in the house. What about you? Are there other people living with you too? You should make them your friends and tell me all about them!
Write back soon, okay?
-Peter
P.S don't worry Raivis, you don't need to push yourself to become friends with Eduard and Tolys. (I prefer using that name. Watch hetafact's video to see why it's Tolys) Peter's just excited to meet new people. -(Y/n)
I raised an eyebrow at my P.S. Suddenly, another paper fell down. It was another letter, but with a different handwriting. While Peter's were rushed and messy, this one was tidy, sometimes connected between two letters, and was similar to the P.S in the other letter, so I'm guessing it was mine.
Hello Mr. Tolys.
So, I heard it's near to winter. And Mr. Braginsky will be lonely because no one can get through the snow, right? At least that's what I've heard from Raivis. Anyways, I hope Mr. Braginsky's been treating you well, and not with the punishments. I brought you something that can help with the scars on your back. And since you may be spending time with Mr. Feliks, and he might be insensitive to your back, so I add in something as a pain numb-er. Here's also some money for you to buy your medicines. And some for Eduard's new laptop.
Well, I wish you the best of luck, Mr. Laurinitis. I tried to help with all that I can. Sorry this is only that I can provide.
Sincerely, (Y/n)
~P.S can you record Eduard saying 'twelve months' in Estonian? I'm... curious.
At the last part I raised my eyebrow, amused. I know exactly what the translation was. And judging by the 'not with the punishment', I knew what was going on behind the stage. Everything then faded.
~-_-~
I woke up looking up to a wooden ceiling, on a bed. I slightly furrowed my eyebrows. 'What...' I thought 'Where am I...'. I looked to my side and on one side, saw a wall, and the other, was a boy I recognized. Peter. 'So I'm stuck in this game,' I thought, 'But it's not even finished... I'm actually surprised at the amount of excitement in me right now. I would be fangirling so hard, but I'm not... Or is this just like the change of personality 'Wtf' told me?'
I decided to get out of bed. I was wearing a red t-shirt with pants that have, oh my god, BIG ENOUGH POCKETS UNLIKE THEY USUALLY MAKE FOR WOMEN'S PANTS. I peeked outside the curtain, and I think it was about half to seven. I turned to go to the door and silently open it. Behind the door was the same hallway you would go through in the game. I wanted to see the house first, although I already knew what the layout was. As I was walking past Alfred's room, and I know he's still sleeping because even after Peter woke up, he was still sleeping, another door opened, and the door was Matthew's room revealing, of course, Matthew.
I somehow appear unfazed, even though that should've scared me. "Hi Thew." I greeted in a monotone voice. Wait, Thew? Is that my nickname for him? Meh, weird but different. "Oh, hey (Y/n)!" he greeted back. His polar bear, Kumajiro, followed him out the door. "Who are you?" they asked. "Matthew, your owner." answered Thew tiredly. Matthew looked at me, "I'll be at the piano room if you need me." he declared. I nodded, and he left with his polar bear.
Now... what do I do? With my new personality, I don't know what to do. I'll explore the rooms like the game. America's asleep, so there's no need. Canada's already out. So, France and England's.
I walked to the end of the hallway and to the last door nearest from the stairs. I opened the door, and it revealed Francis looking at his dresser and fixing himself. "Oh, bonjour (Y/n)." he said, noticing me through the mirror. "Hello." I said in (mother tongue language/ m/t/l {Now, if Y/n is talking in italic, then it means they're talking in their mother tongue language, kay?}). I was surprised. I don't usually talk in (m/t/l) (Unless it's English), only around my family. But I guess they are my family now...
"Where's Arth?" I asked. I assumed I meant Arthur. An expression started to slip on Francis, "Mon dieu!" he shouted, "I have to go and check something!" He hurried off to the door, mumbling, 'Arthur better not try to cook.' or something like that. But in all seriousness, I really hope he doesn't cook.
Okay. What do I do now? As far as I remember Matthew couldn't be bothered once he gets completely absorbed with the piano and becomes one with it. *cough cough*
I put my hands in my pockets, which was really spacious, and my hand touched something in both pockets. I pulled both of them out. On one hand was some sort of notebook, and the other was a pencil and an eraser. I raised an eyebrow, 'How the hell does a notebook fit in here? Well at least I have pants that have huge pockets,' I thought, 'These have to be mine. Well, y'know, 'cuz it's in my pocket.'
I went back to my room, and finally noticed something. For one, the room was bigger, and there in the corner was a bookshelf, which definitely wasn't there before. On top of it was a sort of can filled with pencils, erasers, drawing pens and markers. The books in it were some of my favorite series's, and some manga sprinkled here and there. There were the notebook, similar to the one I had, and one or two sketchbooks.
I took a closer inspection and- "These are your books." A voice said. I jumped in my mind, but unfazed in the outside. "There were books you've read, books you've written, and empty notebooks. There are also sketchbooks with your drawings and some other things." The voice said, giving me exposition. 'Huh.' I thought 'I guess it's like the equivalent to when I go to something and click on it. Interesting...'
'Books I've written, huh? Guess I'm a bit of a writer. And judging from the sketchbooks, a drawer, too.' I sat on the bed and suddenly, and option appeared in front of me. 'Do you want to continue on your book?' 'Yes' 'No'. I chose yes, and just like I was programmed, my body looked down to the book, and opened to the beginning of chapter one.

"'Greetings, your Highness.' one of the butler said in quiet a tone." my hand magically moved to form the words, and my brain immediately knew what to write. "'What is it?' the female in charge asked. 'It has seem that the stunt double you sent had died in a mid-bet the other kingdom did.' the butler said. Colette raised an eyebrow, 'Now why would I need to know about this?' she asked. 'Well, there was a letter left by the stunt double, and it was said it was important.'
The butler gave her the letter. Colette was confused, though she didn't show it. How would a letter left by a hired stunt double be that important? She studied the letter, and in one corner was the name of the writer. Colette's eyes widened. No, it couldn't be. It was Cordelia Stryker. Her twin. The twin that she hasn't seen ever since they were separated."
Huh. The story seems interesting. I closed the book, and turned to the window. It wasn't morning enough I'd say. Meh, I'll just put an illustration on the next page. As I was just doing the outline of the decoration, England entered the room. He noticed me on the bed, "Oh hey (Y/n). I see you woke up earlier than Peter." I nodded. "Say, do you mind waking up the little git? It's time for breakfast." I nodded again and hummed. And with a "Thanks", he left. I put the notebook and the pencils and pens in my pockets. I stood up and went over to the other bed.
"Terry, wake up. Ter. Peter!" I raised my voice on the last part. A small groan was heard. "Peter, it's time to wake up. Come on, lad!" ... "Yeah, yeah." He said. I blinked and turned away. "It's time for breakfast, Terry." I said, and left. I know he'll come out later. As I almost reached the turn to the dining room, Peter came running at me. "I'm here! I'm here!" He said. I then gestured for us to continue. He nodded.
When we got in, we go to the kitchen and to Francis. "Bonjour~ How did you two sleep?" "I slept well, thank you!" Peter said. "Me too." I said. "Are you making breakfast?" Peter asked. "Indeed I am! What would you like to eat?" So uh, can I choose or- "How about crossaints? Those are yummy!" Peter asked. So, I don't. "Good choice! I'll make some special pain au chocolat just for you, oui?" Francis said. "You'll make the chocolately ones?! Really?!" Said Peter excitedly. "Of course I will! Now, what do you want, (Y/n)?" Francis turned to me. "I'll take cereal." I said automatically. "Which one do you want? We hav-" "I'll take normal cornflakes." I cut him off because he might say those long names. {I'm sorry I didn't make the readers choose T - T too much of a hassle to write honestly}
"In the meantime, could you find your brothers for me? We wouldn't want them to miss breakfast either." Francis said, "Knowing Alfred, he's still asleep. Matthew should be up though."
"Get Alfred and Matthew to the kitchen... Got it." Me and Ter said at the same time.
Once we got out of the kitchen, we walked to the dining room where Arthur and the pets were. Peter went to talk to Arthur, and I zoned out since I knew what they were talking about. I went to Ignotus and scratched the bottom of his head, earning a purr from him. Pierre landed on my shoulder and tweeted. I stroked his soft feathers. They seem pretty close to me. And I seem to be close to them. I looked back and saw that Peter was done talking o Arthur, so I began to go to the door, where Peter was heading to.
"I'll go tell Thew to come, you go get Alfred." I said. "Roger, Cap'n!" said Peter as he salutes. He then ran off upstairs. I walked to the neighboring hall, and went to the piano room. In there, Matthew was playing his song, Canada Complete Introduction, in piano form. I tapped on his shoulder lightly, and when I saw there was no reaction, I put my entire hand on his shoulder and pressed my fingers against it. Just then it grabbed his attention.
"Oh, good morning (Y/n)!" Matthew greeted. "Good morning to you too." I greeted back, "We're going it eat breakfast soon, so we should go." "It's breakfast time already? I must've been playing for so long I lost track of time." he said mostly to himself. "Wait a minute, please tell me Arthur didn't cook this time." he said quietly. I shook my head, "France kicked him out of the kitchen before he could." Matthew sighed in relief, "Thank goodness..."
Matthew got up his chair and walked to the couch where Kumajirou sat. "Let's go Kumadora, come on!" he said. "Food! Food!" cheered Kumajirou. They soon left the room. I looked back at the piano. I traced my hand across the keys, and I finally exited the room. Sudenly,
"ARTHUR DON'T!! ALL OF US HAVE SO MUCH TO LIVE FOR!!!" someone called Alfred screamed as he ran pass me like 'Nyoom'. So I guess he's been woken up. I followed into the dining room. When I entered, Kum greeted me. "Hey there Jiri." I said while I scratched his head. "Let's eat!" he said. "We have to wait, Jiri." I said to him. His face started to fall and he pouted. "If you're patient, I'll sneak a treat to you." I 'bribed'. His expression started to light up, "Treat!" he cheered, and with that, he went back to sit with his master, but straighter, as opposed to the slouched position of his sit before.
I looked to the kitchen and saw Peter talking to Francis, probably about waking up Alfred. I noticed that there was another seat at the other head of the table. So I assumed it was my seat, and sat there. I didn't listen to the argument of Alfred and Arthur, because it's just nonsense babble and every day small fights. Also that the author is lazy to write all it down and make reader have not much reaction.
"Both of you, break it up already!" Matthew semi-yelled. Francis delivered Peter's croissants, and in his other hand was a bowl, which I assumed was my cornflakes. And it was. He put the bowl in front of me, which was filled with milk which had cornflakes in them. "Here is your cornflakes!" "Thanks." I said to him.
Francis took his seat, and his small fight happened which I didn't bother with and ate my cornflakes. All I hear is England saying that Francis is spoiling Peter, and France saying he's giving what's best for him, yada yada yada. "How about I spoil you for a little-- French vanilla surprise, oui?" Francis said suggestively, and I almost spitted the milk, but I instead slightly choke on it. "I really wish I didn't hear that." whispered Alfred. "Papa, Peter and (Y/n)'s right there!" scolded Matthew, half whispering. "I ship it. Though you should keep that in the bed, under the sheets, Francis." I whispered. Alfred and Matthew looked at me with such horror on his face. "Y-You get that?! What kind of things are you looking at?! You're the same age as Peter!" Alfred said with a look of fear and worry. Also, Peter was... 12, right? I lost my innocence at 10, soo... I merely shrugged at him. They looked at each other with the same fear and worry.
I was done while the others were still eating. I picked the bowl and spoon and bring them to the sink, and proceeded to wash it.
~o~o~
I was on the bed, continuing to write the previous story while Peter was wondering what to do. "Wait a minute, is that what I think it is?" he asked himself. "Huh? What?" I asked, though I knew the answer. "Hey, it stopped raining!" "Huh." "Ooh! I know! I'll get everyone together and we'll play outside!" Peter exclaimed. "I don't think I'll be able too. I'm way too stuffed." I said. "Aww, okay. I'll just have to invite everyone else!" Peter cheered. I hummed in response, but then I realized. This is where the whole drama thing starts, and I'd feel bad for not joining him.
"I'll help you invite everyone else." I say as I got up. "Really?! Thank you (Y/n)!" exclaimed Peter. "Yeah, let's go." I said.
"We should go check the rooms first." I said, secretly giving a hint. "Okay!" said Peter as he dragged me to Alfred's room, since it was the closest. He pushed open the door, and no Alfred, however- "Hey there's a letter over there." I said, giving another hint. "Oh yeah!" Peter exclaimed as he ran over to the table to see it closer. I followed. "Did Alfred left this behind? Let's see..." Peter trailed off. The letter read:
"Out to Kiku's place. Will be back before dinner.
-Al"
"Darn it, I just missed him!" cursed Peter, "I hope Mattie's still home..." I looked at him. I honestly don't wanna see the poor baby sad... "Well let's go look for him." I say, trying to light up the mood. "Right!" But before we go out, I wanted to look around, even though I had already in the game. "It looks like a dungeon in here!" exclaimed Peter as he opened the curtains, allowing sunlight to immediately fill the room. I squinted my eyes at the sudden brightness.
I looked at the bed, which was still soaked. "I poured water on Alfie, cause he wouldn't wake up!" said Peter suddenly, appearing behind me. "Mm." I hummed, turning into Sweden for a sec.
I looked at the bookshelf next to the bed. It was mostly to all filled with comic books. "Look at those comic books!" Peter exclaimed, reminding me of the 'look at all those chickens' vine. He then turn to me, "(Y/n), you should make some! I'm sure Alfred would like them!" Suddenly, his expression changes, "Although you make more disturbing stuff... Maybe Mr. Kiku would like to!" I blinked, "Do you know how hard those are to make? You have to draw everything perfectly with a limited space that is the panels. Which is why I stick to illustrations." I say. "Awww, okay."
I checked the table in front of the bed, looking curiously and sadly at the blue flowers on them. "They're such a pretty blue color," Peter said abruptly, "Al said he got them from a friend. He always looks so sad when he talks about them." Peter said to me, rather than himself like in the game. Silence... "I wonder why that is..." Peter trailed off. Well it's because his friend is de-
"Let's do to Mattie's room now." I said. "Okay!" And with that, we left Alfred's room and went to Matthew's. We opened the door, and it was, of course, empty. But I still looked around. I went to the table across the bed. There were bags on the- "I wonder what Mattie keeps in those bags?" Peter asked himself. CRACK COCAINE. Maybe. Anyway, thank you for cutting me off. Next to it were books- "Some books about wilderness. Mattie loves nature." He looked at me, "Just like you do!" I blinked, "Not exactly. I just prefer the silence of nature and their, usually, comforting animals. I prefer to be in a tree writing something rather than being in a living room, engaging in conversations." "Okay, you do you~"
"Since Mattie isn't here, as it seems, we should... go look for Kuma, maybe. He'd know where his master is." I said, giving yet another clue. "Okay, let's go!" I lead Peter to the backyard, because that was where Kuma was. And lo and behold, he was. "Kumajiro, do you know where Mattie is?" Peter asked running up to the bear. "... Who?" Kumajiro asked, tilting his head. Peter sweatdropped. "Your master. How many times have I told you not to forget him?" I said, kneeling down at the tiny, fluffy bear. "We're trying to find him, since he doesn't seem to be in the house, even though we thought he would." I told him. "Sorry." Kuma said, hanging his head. "Say that to Thew." I said to him. "Okay."
"Matthew... he left ten minutes ago. Said something about ice cream and Cubans." answered Jiro. "He's gone with Carlos, then..." I mumbled, enough for Peter to hear me. I stood up, "Thank you, Jiro." "So then Mattie isn't here around either.. " said Peter with a sense of disappointment.
Suddenly, Peter went into a thinking stance, "If Alfred and Matthew isn't around, who can I play with?" he paused, "Maybe Arthur and Francis will?" he wondered to himself. "Well then, let's go. They should be in the living room."
And with that, we entered the house and started to walk to the living room. I paused, and took a deep breath. I knew what would happen next, and honestly, I wasn't ready. In the game, the feeling of the sadness was slightly reduced because it was a video game. Even though all Hetalians wanted most everyone to exist in the real world, we knew it was fiction. And to think it was real now... to watch your favorite characters, or, even ship for some people, argue.
I know, this isn't HetaOni, and I feel extremely lucky that it isn't, because I would cry at the thought of even the characters inside the wretched place and having Italy go through the cycle... but... even being stuck in another world would be overwhelming for someone to experience. I'm just extremely lucky to have it be Home. But I have to wonde-
"(Y/n)! Let's go!" Peter said, breaking my thoughts. "Mmhmm." I hummed and followed him further to our destination.
