San quickly ripped off his pajama top and shuffled through his small closet looking for a clean shirt to wear. He groans inwardly and just grabs a random black t-shirt as well as a grey hoodie.
He struggles to change his pants, tripping a few times on the way out of his room. "Shit shit shit, I'm late" He kept whispering under his breath, his eyebrows creased with worry.
His ancient and practically useless alarm clock had failed to wake him up that morning and so he woke up almost an hour late realizing that class had already long started.
He rushes into the bathroom and speedily brushes his teeth and hair then he practically sprints into his kitchen with his bag. The fridge was barren as usual and a stack of papers and mails layed on the counter, mocking and always reminding him of the overdue bills he had to pay.
The only things that felt like they would maybe be edible was a few apples that had one too many squishy spots and a banana that was practically brown in color. He pouts takes an apple and the last banana then chucks them into his bag.
Racing towards the door, he slips on his old and worn down sneakers and grab his car keys off the wall where it hung on its hook.
He ended up driving like a maniac just to try and avoid the morning traffic of everyone trying to get to work. Once he finally arrived at his college he parked as close to the school as possible then sped up the stairs to his class.
Entering the room as lesson was going on was nothing short of awkward. He wanted to crawl in a hole and never come out as a few people's eyes followed him to a seat in the back. The instructor didn't pay much attention to him though which he was grateful for.
The hours drag by extremely slowly and by the time class was over at 4pm San felt like he would pass out from malnutrition. All he's had all day was an old banana. The apple, he wanted to eat but decided that it'd be too loud to be eating it while the class was dead silent so he settled for banana only.
He lets out a soft sigh as he went into the back of his car to change into his work clothes. His shift starts at 5 and he didn't really have the time to go home and change so he had to bring his change of clothes with him and leave them in the car.
He arrives at work and makes his way inside. As usual it was already super busy. He works at a diner and he never really understood why it was always so busy around 5-6. He guessed that it was probably because people had closed from work and were eating out.
"Sunny, you're here" Hongjoong, his manager and close friend, calls out to him using his nickname as he walks by the entrance. He had a tray of drinks in his hands and was walking towards a table he was supposedly serving. "Suit up and get hustling" He adds with a small smile and San nods in understanding before rushing to the back to slip on his apron.
Although he's told Hongjoong to stop calling him that ridiculous, so called nickname, the older refused. With that San just sort of gave up having to remind him all the time so apparently now it's a thing.
The next hour consisted of him walking back and forth, delivering orders to tables and cleaning up after the customers leave. It wasn't until just 30 minutes past 6 that everywhere began to calm down. It wasn't as hectic and San could actually catch his breath.
"You look like you're about to pass out" Mingi chuckles begin him as he places dirty dishes into the dishwasher.
San just laughs lightly and turns to face the taller who was busy doing some paper work. "I'm fine. Just a bit hungry" He says dismissively and Mingi turns to look at him with a raised brow.
"Did you eat lunch?"
"Ah- I had a banana?" He winces slightly when he realizes that all he's had all day was a measly banana.
"And breakfast?"
San stays quiet at that, continuing his work. Mingi gives a look of disbelief and stands up from the counter he was leaning over.
"So all you've had all day is a banana. You're gonna end up in a hospital of you don't eat well San" He whines out and San just groans inwardly.
"I'm ok though. I'm hardly even affected" San says absentmindedly as he closes the machine and brushes his dark green bangs from his eyes.
"You're exhausted San" Mingi sighs softly when his hyung just waves it off and goes back out to clean up tables.
It wasn't until around 10pm that San's shift was over and he honestly felt extremely light headed. He takes off his apron and hangs it up with the others.
"Sunny hey, Mingi and I were just gonna go grab something before we head home. Do you wanna come?" Hongjoong's voice calls out as he puts away files and gets ready to shut down the diner.
"You're leaving now?" San asks when he the shorter taking off his apron.
"Yeah, it's 10:13 and we shut down at 10:30. I'm sure no one is gonna walk in at this time" He shrugs. "So you coming? I'll can pay so don't worry"
San knew that he was starving and since Hongjoong already offered to get him some food he thought why the hell not.
"Sure" He says with a dimpled smile and Hongjoong couldn't help hut smile back. He pokes the younger's cheek like he was a baby.
"Aish- you're so cute. C'mon let's go, Mingi's already waiting out there" He says sweetly then turns to grab his bag. San follows close behind him, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.
"Speaking of Mingi, when are you guys gonna start, y'know, dating?"
Hongjoong just smacks his arm playfully then looks around to see if anyone heard what the younger had said. "Shut up before someone hears you" He whisper screams.
"Well? Is it gonna happen or what?" He whispers back.
"Are you delusional? I'm his manager and we're just friends" Hongjoong replies while rolling his eyes.
"Ok did he ask you to go eat out with him then you asked to invite me?"
"Yeah?"
San face palms and chuckles. "And I thought I was the naïve one. He basically just asked you out. You guys are always giving each other the 'I wanna jump your bones and make out with you so badly' looks, its hard to miss" He says with a laugh then reenacts said 'look' that he was referring to.
Hongjoong laughs lightly. "We do not do that. Anyways why would he ask me out right after work, thirty minutes past ten, when we're both tired and hungry, to go out on a date? That's such an awkward time and I think you're reading into this way to deep"
They both exit the building and Hongjoong makes sure to lock up. San just shrugs and walks ahead towards the parking lot. When he sees that Hongjoong's car isn't in the lot he turns back to the shorter.
"Hey where's your car?"
"Oh Mingi drove me" He replies absentmindedly while trying to put away his keys.
San gives him a 'you see what I mean?' look. Hongjoong just rolls his eyes playfully.
"Shut it. My car didn't start up this morning and I didn't want to take the bus so he offered to drive. It's not a big deal" He keeps walking towards Mingi's white truck parked in the 'employees' section.
They hop into the car, Hongjoong up front with the tallest and San in the back. The both of them greet each other with a half flirty smile and San felt like jumping out the car. They haven't even left the parking lot yet and he already felt like he was a massive third wheel.
The drive to the food place was a bit long and almost strenuous, for San that is, and he spent majority of the time looking out the window as dark trees zoomed by the window and the moon following them at every turn. Hongjoong and Mingi just talked the whole time and even bantered a little like an old married couple and there he was sitting in the back like their 7 year old grandson.
They arrive at the food place and San notices a fancy looking car parked outside but pay much attention to it. They make their way inside, it was pretty empty save for two people who sat in the farthest corner. One of them had jet black hair pushed back by the help of their expensive looking sunglasses. He had on a black jumper and dark ripped jeans.
The other had a black bucket hat and from the bit of hair San could spot, he was blonde. He had a striped long sleeved baggy shirt with black sweats.
Both their eyes follow San and his posse as they make their way to a table on the other side of the food place. San couldn't help but notice how handsome they were but the way they were staring at his table kind of made him uncomfortable.
Mingi and Hongjoong didn't really seem bothered by the staring though. "So we're gonna go order now, is there anything you want?" Hongjoong asks the green haired male, breaking him from his thoughts. San blinks back to reality and quickly looks at the menu they put up.
"Uh I don't really know. I'll just get what you're getting" San replies with a small smile and the other two nod in understanding before going up to the counter.
San subtly glances back at the two in the corner and he saw that the ravenette had stopped looking at him and is now concentrated on whatever was on his phone whilst placing a fry in his mouth but the blonde still had his eyes fixated on San, a small amused smile on his lips and head cocked to the side in curiosity.
He doesn't look away when San catches him staring but San looks away, flustered and nervous.
San wanted to run away. Why's this super cute dude staring at me? Do I have something on my face? Am I just that ugly that he can't help but stare. Come to think of it they both look very familiar.
He couldn't place his finger on it but he'd seen them somewhere. The dark hair of the two more specifically. Was it online? No I don't think so. Or did I bump into them on the street? No that can't be it. Surely if I saw two guys as handsome as they were I'd remember. Then what is it?
"Hey you. Whatcha thinking about?" Mingi asks placing their food on the table and breaking San's train of thought.
"Ah n-nothing. So what'd you get?" He asks excitedly.
The three boys eat and the whole time San just tried to push the 'blonde with the bucket' in the back of his mind and enjoy his meal.
He hears a chair squeak back and he glances at the direction of the noise. The two model-like boys take their stuff and begin heading out the door.
San lets out a breathe of relief when they were finally out of the building. Now he could eat like a pig without having a cute as hell dude judging him. Of course Mingi and Hongjoong would still give him looks but he felt a lot more comfortable with them.
"They were kinda cute, right San?" Hongjoong asks teasingly when the door closes shut. San looks at him with a raised brow.
"Why didn't you go talk to them?" He asks while poking his side.
"Because I don't know them? Stop being so weird" He replies while taking another bite of his food.
"Well you kept looking at them like you did" Mingi adds this time.
"Well I don't" San replies abruptly like a moody teen and Mingi just chuckles in amusement.
