Walking away from love, a decision hard to make,
When all we wanted was to hold on and never break.

But sometimes we must choose what's best for us
Even when it means leaving someone we love and trust.

The way we were, it wasn't meant to be,
our paths twisted and turned, running free.

And though our love was strong, it couldn't take the strain, of trying to fit a puzzle with pieces that wouldn't align and contain.

Walking away from love, doesn't mean it wasn't real,
That our hearts didn't feel the passion that reeled.

It only means that we saw the truth and knew that staying would hurt more and the pain would continue to renew.

May miss the touch, the warmth and the embrace, but the thought of pain is what we cannot face.

And so we choose to walk away...
And let go of love that was never meant to stay.

Walking away from love, may feel like a burden.
A decision we wish we could unburden.

But in time we realize that it was for the best,
that the love we let go, will lead us to a love that lasts.
