I found a poet who writes similar to my style of writing. This poem I found to be beautiful and completely relatable. A unique way to portray struggles. I really don't believe I even need to say anything about this. This poet did a hell of a job with capturing feelings. I really liked all the poems by this writer, but this one I had to read more than once. So without further ado...

Title of Poem: Better Than Nothing
I used to not like how hard the rain would fall
How it splashed up my frame and soaked it all
But I like it now, and I would do anything for it now
Because it's better than fear
Better than nothing
Better than the salt of my tears
I used to not like how a fly would buzz by my ear
How it followed me and harassed me and was always painfully near
But I like it now, and I would do anything for it now
Because it's better than how my anger loudly seethed
Better than nothing
Better than not being able to breathe
I used to not like the heat
Or the winter time
when the cold floor would sting my feet
I used to not like stepping on stones and how they made it into my home
But I like all these things now, and I would do anything for them now
Because they're something
Certainly better than nothing
Because the rain and flies, the heat and chills, are all certainly something real to the thumb
And feeling these things will always be better than being nothing but a shell of myself that is numb
