everything felt different

i now had a reason to get up and go to school every day.

i now had a reason to talk until the late hours of the night

to stay away from the loneliness that crept in

every time i lay down and closed my eyes.

i finally had a reason to smile

for the first time in months

and it both excited and scared me.
