To err is human

So the saying goes

I made my share of mistakes

God only knows

But with one subtle difference

That I have seen

Maybe its just my cockiness

After all, I am a human being

I see so very many

Quick to accept the glory

Even if the idea was not theirs

But we all know the story

Yet when the shit

Hits the proverbial fan

They pass on the blame

Just as fast as they can

.

I am not saying

That I am the cat's meow

I don't like praise much

I never take the final bow

But damned if I will ever

Let someone take my fall

I take my own responsibility

It was my actions, after all
