Wolf, Dragon and Phoenix
"Alright, everyone, we've got a big anomaly in Dimension 489," Miguel said, "try not to get yourselves killed this time."
"Easier said than done," Peter B chuckled. Gwen rolled her eyes with a smile.
Polina hummed softly as they all ran through the portal.
"Another Doc Ock?" Miles huffed as he and Hobie swung through the air, "how many of these guys are there?"
"Who cares!?" Polina said as she swung forward and she landed a punch on Doc Ock, knocking him over. He growled and swung at her.
She quickly dodged and glared at him, snarling. She kicked him in the jaw again only to yelp when one of his mechanical tentacles grabbed her and threw her aside.
"More Spiders?!" He snapped, "you all are becoming a thorn in my side- just like the last one!"
"What Spider is he talking about?" Miguel frowned.
"Who knows," Peter B. chuckled, "but he's certainly gonna get more and more grouchy! Even more than Mayday."
Miguel almost rolled his eyes at that before he swung forward and sucker punched Doc Ock in the jaw.
The second tentacle arm grabbed Miguel and threw him into the ground. There was a loud roar and Polina whipped around to see a Spider-Man flying towards them.
"What the-?!" Miles yelped. Gwen widened her eyes. This Spider-Man had dragon wings.
He barreled at Doc Ock, ramming into him. The two hit the ground hard.
Miguel widened his eyes in shock. "What kind of Spider-Man is this?!" Pavitr yelped.
"Lyla," Miguel said.
"Apparently this Spider-Man is from one of the Dimensions related to Polina's," Lyla explained, "Hayden Hall."
"Ay dios mío," Miguel muttered, "you've gotta be kidding me."
The dragon Spider-Man, Hayden Hall, focused on Doc Ock before he fired a plasma blast at him. The blast hit him hard, sending him crashing into a building.
Miguel jumped down and wrapped the villain in his webs.
Peter B., Polina, Miles, Hobie, Pavitr and Gwen landed. Doc Ock groaned as Miguel picked him up. Hayden landed nearby and Polina looked at him.
He looked at her then at her wolf tail that was swaying sideways. "Huh," he said, "another hybrid."
Polina blinked. Miguel raised an eyebrow at Hayden. "Hybrid?"
"What, can't you tell?" Hayden said, "she's a hybrid of Spider-Woman and a wolf altogether. We're missing someone."
"What do you mean?" Miles asked. Hayden pointed up and everyone, minus Doc Ock, looked up and saw a seventeen year old girl swinging through the air. There were blue and orange wings that were folded against her back. Her Spider suit was blue and gold.
She landed and pouted at Hayden, "did I miss the action again?"
Hayden chuckled, "yes you did, Indiana." "I was handling a robbery," she whined before she looked at Polina then at Miles, Gwen, Hobie, Pavitr then at Peter B. and Miguel.
She smiled, "well isn't this a surprise. A whole group of Spiders."
Lyla popped up beside Miguel, "um... Miguel? That's an Anomaly."
"What!?" Miguel demanded. Hayden suddenly spun around and he sucker punched him in the jaw, sending him flying into a building.
"Whoa! Hey!" Peter B. exclaimed, his eyes widening. Hayden looked at Indiana, "run!"
Indiana quickly flew up into the air. Hayden flew after her. Polina's jaw dropped a bit. Then she shook her head and she looked at the others. Miguel groaned as he shook his head. He growled, "after them!"
He threw out his webs and flew after Hayden and Indiana. Everyone else hurried after the lead spider. Everyone except Polina. She stared off into space for a moment before she scaled the wall and went on the other side.
She swung through the air, looking around before she spotted Indiana and Hayden. She landed on the rooftop and the two spun around to face her.
Indiana sighed in relief. "Guess you're the only one we can count on, huh?" She smiled.
"I guess," Polina said, folding her arms over her chest.
Hayden furrowed a brow, "you okay? How come you're not chasing us or attacking us?" "Why would I attack the Spider people who are just like me?" Polina asked with a deep frown. Hayden and Indiana stared at her.
She had them there. The three of them were different but they were also hybrids.
Hayden held his hand out to her and she took it. Indiana smiled and the three jumped to another building before they went inside. To Polina's surprise, it was empty. And it was also kinda messy. There were papers and pencils strewn about all over the floor, chairs and desks knocked over. There were even messy painted drawings all over the walls.
"This is our hiding spot," Hayden chuckled, "we've just been coming in at night but since this is a different occurrence, I'd say... screw it." He pushed a desk upright and sat down on it. He looked at Polina, "so... what's this Miguel friend of yours like anyway? He seems like an ass."
"Most of the time, he is," she said with a dry chuckle, "but everyone says that he means well... even though he didn't mean well last time."
Indiana tilted her head, furrowing her eyebrows, "what happened last time?" Polina pursed her lips into a tight line and shook her head. She didn't want to just throw it all out there. She picked up a pencil and fiddled with it.
Hayden frowned in worry. She looked sad.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked.
Polina closed her eyes and she took a deep breath. "Nope," she said, "I'm emotionally and physically exhausted. I want to sleep. I want to sleep forever and never wake up." Before she could say more, Hayden and Indiana hugged her.
She froze up for a second before the emotional dam burst and she found herself crying and clinging to the two Spiders like her life depended on it.
She didn't know why she was hurting so much. The pain from losing her mom was still fresh in her mind and she sobbed harder.
Hayden rubbed her back, "it'll be okay. We're here for you." "We won't go anywhere," Indiana said softly, "take as much time as you need."
