New Transformation
Polina and Miguel went out on another mission.
"How many anomalies are there?" Polina grumbled. "Just this one and then we go back," Miguel told her. She huffed softly. She would sometimes hate when Miguel became all serious but it was only during missions and most of the time, it happened back at HQ.
She looked around.
They were on Dimension-20 and they were in the middle of a forest. It was peaceful but neither Spider was willing to let their guard down.
Polina sniffed the air and she narrowed her eyes. Something didn't feel right.
Miguel looked at her, "what is it?" "I don't know...," she said hesitantly, "something... it doesn't feel right."
Miguel frowned and he placed a hand on her shoulder. She looked at him.
"Calm down and take a breath," he said, "do you sense anything?"
Polina's shoulders slowly relaxed and she inhaled then exhaled. She closed her eyes. Then her Spidey-Sense went off.
She quickly tackled Miguel just as a large black figure came running past them.
The two Spider-People fell to the ground and looked at the creature.
"Um... symbiote?" Polina said nervously. "Symbiote," Miguel grumbled before he charged after it. Polina scrambled to her feet and she ran after him.
Miguel saw that the Symbiote had taken an animal as a host- which was pretty relieving. But the fact that it was a lion was also concerning.
He shot out a thread of red webbing and he leapt up with a battle cry. He tackled the lion and the two tumbled down a hill hard.
"Miguel!" Polina shouted, her eyes widening.
Miguel grunted as he hit the ground hard. The Symbiote pinned him down and opened it's jaw, revealing sharp teeth.
Miguel growled, pushing his claws against it's neck to try and keep it at bay.
Polina widened her eyes and she pulled out the syringe. The blue and green spider-filled liquid was inside.
She breathed heavily before she jammed the needle into her arm.
She let out a choked cry, her eyes widening. She felt the wolf fade away and something else quickly came barreling into her senses.
Something bad. Something primal.
She snarled as her eyes glowed. Her teeth elongated, and her body felt like it was on fire. She let out a feral snarl and flew at the Symbiote.
It whipped it's head towards her and she slammed into it hard. Miguel widened his eyes in shock and amazement.
Polina snarled as she pinned the Symbiote down. It screeched and struggled under her. She didn't know how she was able to do it but it worked somehow.
She growled as her chest felt become hotter and hotter. Before she could even comprehend what it was, she blew fire at the Symbiote. It was golden fire.
Miguel widened his eyes, "Polina!"
The Symbiote screeched before it melted away.
The lion snarled in fear and scrambled to its paws before taking off into the forest.
Polina breathed heavily and she growled softly. She spun around to face Miguel and she snarled again. Miguel stood back, his eyes wide and narrowed.
Polina growled before she threw her hands out and bright fiery golden webs flew at the Spider.
He quickly jumped to the side and he widened his eyes as the fiery webs wrapped around an old tree. Upon making contact with its target, the tree ignited into flames.
Miguel widened his eyes and he snapped his head around only to grunt when Polina punched him hard.
He grabbed her arm and wrenched it behind her back. A feral snarl escaped the girl's lips and she stomped on his foot.
He grunted in surprise and slight pain and he yelped when Polina bit his arm. Sharp claws raked across his side.
He growled before he swung his fist. It made contact with skin and there was a yelp.
Polina fell to the ground, shaking her head. She looked up, her vision blurring. She hissed and snarled but before she could attack, Miguel quickly pinned her down.
She snarled and struggled underneath him.
"Polina! Polina! Snap out of it!" He shouted. She stopped, breathing heavily. She looked up at Miguel and she blinked a few times.
A whimper and she curled up. Miguel quickly moved back, "Polina?"
She turned over and threw up.
"Mierda!" Miguel hissed and he carefully picked her up. She was shivering badly in his arms and she buried her face into his chest.
"Lyla, I need a portal! Hurry!" Miguel said. Polina let out a sharp cry as her ears started ringing.
There were a lot of loud noises but she could hear the voices of Miles, Gwen, Hobie, Margo, Pavitr, Jess, Peter B and Miguel.
They were all worried.
She whimpered softly as Miguel gently laid her on the bed.
"I-I don't know what's happening to me," she whimpered, shivering uncontrollably.
"You're safe. You're gonna be okay. The medics are gonna take care of you," Jess said gently. Polina sniffled before she looked at the others.
She whimpered softly as she slowly passed out.
Doctor Spider-Man took some of Polina's blood and looked at it. He nearly jumped back in shock and Miles looked at him.
"What is it?" Miguel asked firmly.
Doctor Spider-Man opened his mouth but no words came out. Hobie narrowed his eyes.
"Doc?" Peter B asked, frowning.
"I-it's her blood. The Spiders in her bloodstream have changed," the doc said uneasily.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean!?" Gwen nearly growled. The doctor swallowed nervously, "it means that it's altered her powers and her blood itself. It's even altering her body."
Polina whimpered softly and she curled up into a ball. She growled softly and Miles slowly placed his hand on her shoulder.
She peeked one eye at him and sniffled softly.
"Hey, rose," he said with a soft, loving smile. She stared at him, almost like she was studying him.
Gwen walked up beside him.
Polina looked at her then at Miles. "Colors," she murmured.
"Pardon?" Hobie said.
"You've all got weird colors," Polina said, "it's warm and chilly."
Miguel furrowed a brow.
"What do you mean, we have weird colors, Pol?" Pavitr asked, tilting his head. Miles helped Polina sit up slowly and she looked at everyone.
"They're all like an Aurora Borealis; Jess' aurora is red with gold and violet," she explained, "Gwen's aurora is white and pink. Miles' aurora is red and black. Hobie's aurora is silver and red, Pavitr's aurora is golden and red. Margo's aurora is violet and purple. Peter B's aurora is red and blue... and Miguel... your aurora is... dark red and blue."
She hissed and held her head.
"Hey, hey, you gotta rest," Miles said. Polina looked at her hands, "can you stay?"
She looked at Miles and Gwen.
"Of course, Rose," Gwen said with a gentle smile and she kissed her temple. Polina leaned into her touch, purring.
Hobie, Pavitr and Margo walked over. Polina looked at them and chirped softly.
Hobie smiled, "you're gonna get through this, luv."
Polina smiled softly as she slowly fell asleep.
