My name is Clara Anne Worthington. I would classify myself as a normal girl I guess. I have pale skin though and long red hair. Most people seriously nickname me Ariel after that Disney movie you know? I didn't mind I mean hey Ariel was a freaking princess who ended up with a prince! Who wouldn't want that?! Too bad the real world wasn't like fairytales. It would sometimes make things so much easier...I think. Anyway I am also a big fan of Jane Austen as well. I know that may be what a lot of girls say but it's true. I loved her book called Northanger Abby. I know most people liked Pride and Prejudice but after I saw the movie where Kiera Knightly played Elizabeth Bennett well let's just say that I didn't like it.

I am a nurse and I currently work full time at the local hospital. Which means I usually have no time or energy once I am done with my job. I usually go home and read a book. Yeah I know I look like Ariel but I act like Belle trust me I have heard it all before. Still I had no problem with it. I liked my life well sort of I wish there was more adventure and maybe just the smallest bit of romance in it.

I sigh as I am about to walk out of the hospital when my boss Blake comes up to me and asks to have a "talk". That was the nurse's code for him wanting one of us to take his shift so he could go out with one of the new interns that we were getting. I really didn't like Blake at all. I only tolerated him because I needed the job. I nod and follow him.

"Clara, you know you're the best girl I have on my team right?" he asks me. Oh what a total suck up and not mention a big fat liar and flattery won't work either asshole.

"What do you want Blake? I really need to get home to get some sleep." I tell him as I adjust my backpack on my back.

"Well I kinda need a favor, my shift isn't over for about another two hours but I have a date I really need to get to...I think this girl might be the one." He tells me. I bet her probably thinks that will make me just let him go.

"Yeah well let me guess you want me to finish your shift right?" I say clearly getting annoyed at him.

"You would do that?! Oh you're awesome." He tells me as he turns to walk away but I grab him and turn him back to face me.

"Oh no you don't pal. What do I get out of this little agreement?" I ask him as I release him and cross my arms over my chest.

"Uh, well what do you want?" he asks me raising his eye brows in a flirtatious way.

"Not Interested." I tell him as I turn to walk away but he grabs me and turns me around.

"Please Clara, I will do your charts for a month! Anything I will even be your personal slave." He tells me as he gets down on his knees.

Oh that would be fun but who's to say that he would actually keep his part of the deal. Oh whatever I could use the extra money anyway. I pick him up off the ground and just motion for him to go to the parking lot. He screams yes as he takes off and I just shake my head as I walk back inside and up to Joy who just shakes her head at me.

"That boy drives me crazy, which intern is it this time?" Joy asks me.

"You think that I actually keep track? If I did then I would probably be able to write a book." I tell her as I hand her my backpack and she puts it under her desk.

"I swear one night he's gonna end up in here with some new disease down there if you get what I mean." She tells me with a wicked smile.

"Nothing that I want to be around to treat." I tell her as I look at the charts.

"You need to date too you know, every time I see you well you just look so lonely." Joy tells me and I know that she is genuinely concerned for me.

"Maybe when the men actually grow up I can take a chance. Until then I prefer to keep my sanity." I tell her with a laugh as I walk off to check on the patients.

Two hours went by and by the time I started home I was exhausted to say the least. It was a cold December night which meant that more than likely there was ice on the road. Just as I went to turn a corner a car came right at me. I swerved and went off the edge of a cliff down the ravine to the lake that was supposed to be frozen. My body was jerked and pulled in ways that I didn't even know possible. Once the car stopped I unbuckled my seat belt and got out of the car.

I went to the lake for some reason I really don't know why but I did and walked out onto the frozen waters. I was trying to see how far the drop was but then I heard something cracking. I looked down and froze in fear. The lake wasn't completely frozen. Before I had a chance to move I fell through the ice. I tried my best fighting trying to pull myself up back onto the ice but it was useless. So this is how I die huh? Here in the frozen waters? I felt my body start to go numb and eventually my body was engulfed in darkness.

"Auntie! Down here!" I can hear a female voice yell.

My body oh it feels so heavy so I don't dare move. I can hear people coming my way not to mention I think the entire planet earth is against me and my head right now. Before I know it I hear people asking who I was and what happened to me. Not like I could really answer them right now.

"Plumtree please pick her up and bring her back to the house, she is so weak we must call a doctor for her." I hear another feminine voice say but this one sounded older.

I think whoever it was agreed because I felt someone pick up my limp body and hold it close to theirs. I could feel the body heat that was coming off of them as well and believe me it was more than welcomed. I was freezing to say the least. Before I know it though I can feel the person lay me down and I try to open my eyes when I see an older lady leaning before me.

"Oh my dear, please tells us your name then you can rest." The woman tells me with a kind smile.

"Ccclara." I manage to mumble before my eyes closed and my body gave in.
