NINE

The weekend had begun. The last week had been hectic. She'd been running around looking for a job but no one was hiring.

Today Jungkook had told her to come to his house for tutoring. During this past week, they had become more acquainted. The boy was still distant with her, but they talked whenever they needed to.

"Are you leaving?" Ara asked as she had her eyes on the tv.

Nari had her purse on her shoulder and was about to open the door, "Yeah, I have to tutor someone."

"Oh," she turned to her, she had a smirk on her face, "Jungkook." she sang as she raised her arms.

"Shut up." Nari told her, her cheeks red as she adjusted her purse, "Take care, I'll be back." she stepped outside and closed the door.

It was about to be late. The night was illuminated by the countless stars that shined so effortlessly. She had questioned why Jungkook had called her last night. It was unusual for him to call her on a Saturday, more specifically, it was unusual if him to call her at all.

Sure, they had spoken only one time, by accident but it was still unusual for her.

A few minutes had passed and she had finally arrived to Jungkook's house. His parents were on a business trip so he had told her that they'd be alone. Even though she didn't want to be alone with him, especially after what happened last time, she had to do it for her extra credit.

Extra credit.

It's just for extra credit, she said to herself as she stood on the front door.

The door swung open, revealing Jungkook in a black shirt with jeans. Behind him were the boys, they were sorting out drinks on the table.

"Come in." he said as he let her inside.

The girl saw them carrying what looked like booze. Why would there be booze if they are just tutoring?

"Um..." she was still standing by the door.

What are they doing?

Jungkook looked at her book bag that was dangling from her shoulder. He stood in front of her and put his hand in her shoulder.

"We aren't tutoring, actually." he said as he slid off the strap, he touched a little of her skin making her turn red.

She heard him chuckle.

"You are going to your first high school party, whether you like it or not." he said as he passed the backpack to Jin who ran upstairs with it.

The girl narrowed her eyes, there is no way that she was going to a party. Especially after what happened...

Nari nervously chuckled, "And this is where I leave," she turned around, "see you around." her hand was opening the door but a loud bang beside her and the door closing startled her.

She knew who it was. The way her body reacted automatically, gave away who it was.

"This is where you stay." Jungkook said to her. She felt him lean closer to her, her breath hitched. His chest was touching her back. He was radiating heat to her body just by leaning closer to her.

She shouldn't be showing weakness, she shouldn't be showing these emotions. She shouldn't be giving in; but she is.

As he leaned closer, she saw his hand close the door. In just a matter of seconds she felt him pull away.

"You are staying, and that's the end of this conversation." she heard his voice get farther away.

Her back was still turned so no one could see her reddened face.

A hand went around her shoulder, she looked to who it was, Taehyung.

"Don't worry, nothing bad will happen," he said as he squeezed her shoulder and turned her around, "we'll be here to protect you."

They both sat down on the sofa, she rapidly placed her hands on her lap intertwining them. Her last party had been a year ago, it didn't go so well.

"Hey, if anything happens, just call us." Namjoon said from the kitchen as he sorted out the cups.

"I just want to leave." she whined as she rested her head on the back of the sofa.

"You aren't, you need to relax." Taehyung said from beside her, offering her a bag of chips.

Nari shook her head, she wasn't hungry, she just wanted to go home once and for all.

The girl stood up and was about to leave but Taehyung catches her wrist, "Relax."

Jimin was helping Namjoon, Yoongi and Hoseok with the food. Nari saw him look at her with sympathetic eyes, "We saw you were tense all week."

"Since when did you guys even payed attention to me?" she asked specifically to Jimin.

The boy had never, ever since they met, made any effort to get to know her better. It had always been a bantering battle whenever they'd be in the same room.

Out of the seven boys, only one actually seemed to care about her. Taehyung, even though he sometimes was influenced by his friends as Nari had noticed, had been asking her if she was alright all week.

They all sensed something was wrong. At least that's what they were showing Nari, that's what she had interpreted by that question.

"This is why I never talk to you." Jimin sighed as he kept organizing the food.

"Stop–look we are just looking out for you." Taehyung had stood up and looked at her with sympathy.

Nari glanced at all of them. Jungkook wasn't there yet. Even though they were concentrated on their tasks, they had stopped what they were doing. In that moment she saw an unfamiliar expression on their faces. They were worried for her, for her well being.

Should I tell them?

She had an internal conflict, not knowing what to do. These boys didn't even speak to her at the halls of the school. If they did, that would be considered a miracle.

The problem was that somehow she had this feeling that they would listen to her. She had this feeling that they actually cared.

Just in time, Jungkook had reappeared. He was standing with the boys. Their confused expressions made her even more nervous. She shouldn't even tell them.

"I have been tense this week because," she looked down, the tears were threatening to fall down her eyes, "I need a job."

"That's why you've been tense?" Yoongi said mockingly.

Nari let out a sigh. She shouldn't have told them. She knew that it was a bad decision.

But she did anyway.

"My mom, she's having problems paying the bills, I just want to help her." Nari finished and she felt a hand take hers.

"We're sorry." Taehyung said as he squeezed her hand gently.

This made her remember the first time she met them. He was the only one who actually apologized to her. Meanwhile, the others just went off without sparing her any second glances.

Just as the she saw Namjoon whisper something to Jungkook, the door opened as it revealed a bunch of teenagers. The cold night air startled Nari and she scooted closer to Taehyung for warmth.

The party was just beginning...

                        -

The music had been blaring loudly for a while now. Her head had been pounding severely, she couldn't handle those loud screams that people called music.

"Are you having fun?" Taehyung had been by her side for a long time now. She appreciated it but, he also needed to have fun.

She shrugged, "You should go and have fun." the cold taste of orange juice refreshed her.

Nari doesn't like to drink for several reasons: 1. she can't, if she does that'd be considered underage drinking, 2. she just doesn't like it due to some experiences she had in the past.

"I don't want to leave you alone." he said as he sipped on his beer.

She nudged his shoulder, "You've been looking around for a while," she told him, "go, I'll be fine." as she reassured him she saw Jungkook talking to a girl.

He was closer than the usual. His hand was on her waist and she was giggling at something he had said. She felt anger start to grow inside her body.

"Nari!" Taehyung shook her shoulders as he brought her back from her trance.

The girl looked at him flustered, "Ye-yes."

He chuckled, "I'm leaving but I'll be around if you need me, okay." he squeezed her shoulder, smiling at her.

The girl nodded and watched as he left to where some girls were at.

Typical.

Her eyes glanced around the house. Jungkook was still talking to the girl.

Stop feeling angry at him, he's just talking with her.

The couch she had been sitting on dipped, signaling that somebody had sat down next to her. She crossed her arms on her chest instantly.

"Hi." a boy's voice was what she heard.

Nari looked at him once before turning around, "Hello."

The sea of people moved according to the music. All of them made their movements in unison, as if they had all come together for one thing; the music.

"Are you new to Busan?" the guy had asked her.

She nodded, "Yes, it's my second week here."

"I'm Zik, nice to meet you," he smirked, "By the way, welcome to Busan." he said, his face changing into a dark expression.

"Thank you." she replied and looked away.

She noticed that Jungkook was looking at them both with a serious expression. The girl that was with him tried to get his attention, but his eyes Nari on her all the time, she had noticed that and looked down to her lap.

The guy scooted closer to her, a bit too close for her comfort. She tried getting out but she'd fall off the couch if she did.

"You are very pretty," he took a strand of hair on his finger and twirled it, "so innocent..." he whispered as he got closer to her face.

She tried pulling away but he had placed his hand strongly on her waist. She was so close to him.

She wanted to get out of there.

Her hands were pushing on his chest as she tried to pry him away from her. Everybody wasn't even paying attention to what was really happening. They were drinking their beers and just minding their own business.

The guy had transitioned to the front of her. She kept glancing to see if anyone was looking.

Her hand collided with his face and a loud noise startled the guy. Nari had slapped him.

"You think you're brave, huh?" he exclaimed as he was still on top of her.

Finally she found the eyes of Jungkook. Instantly, as she looked at him he marched over to the guy, prying him away and punching him.

"Don't you dare touch her." He threw another punch at him.

Suddenly they were both fighting. Nari had stood up and watched in horror. All the boys later joined in to try and pry them apart.

The guy had his face pretty swollen. Meanwhile, Jungkook had a scar on his face with a small amount of blood.

"Touch her again and we will end you." Namjoon pointed his finger at the guy.

The guy laughed as he looked at Jungkook, "What is she, your girlfriend?" he asked.

The people at the party were looking in expectation. Her heart was beating rapidly since he was not responding. She saw that he looked at her before sighing.

"Yes, she is." she saw Jungkook take her hand and place his around her waist.

His girlfriend? What the...is he for real?

He placed his head beside hers, "Follow my lead." he whispered to her before kissing her forehead.

She felt her face turn red. Her world was about to turn upside down by the words that she was about to say.

"I am his girlfriend." she looked at him and gave him a fake smile.

Little did she know, that this was the start of her becoming the chaos that she always dreaded.
