EIGHT

Her feet stomped through the cold pavement. She never thought she'd be back to the place where she was almost killed. Nari had thought about it twice before coming to visit Suk but, she really wanted to see him.

Her hands gripped the door handle as she stepped in making the door ding.

"Oh look who came! Missed you kid." Suk said from behind the counter.

He appeared and stood in front of her, she bowed in respect. Later on she hugged him.

"I'm so glad that you are okay." she said as she let go of him.

He chuckled, "Wait, its 8am. Aren't you supposed to be at school?"

"I came here to ask you something." she said.

Suk furrowed his eyebrows, "Go ahead."

She couldn't find the right words to say but somehow, she did, "Are you hiring?"

Suk sighed, "No, kid. I'm sorry."

"What? But I've never seen any other employees just one guy-"

Suk put his hand around her shoulder, "It's complicated, but whenever I'm hiring I'll tell you. Alright?"

He was never like this with her, something was off. It was all weird.

She nodded, "Alright, thank you."

Nari would've to find a job elsewhere. It would be difficult to find it but she would do anything to help her mother through her tough time.

She went outside and waited for the bus. She'd arrive late to school but it was okay, she had told Eun and Hyuk to tell the teachers she'd be late.

The bus stopped and she sat down on one of the chairs before playing her music. She put her headphones on as she tried to slip away from reality.

-

The petite girl ran inside the school. She went to the office and they gave her thirty seconds to get to her class. If not she had to go back home.

Her burgundy blazer flowed as she ran as fast as she could. She couldn't be late, she just couldn't.

She abruptly opened the door before barging inside. She received glares from Mr. Hanz, the English teacher. The students looked at her in a judging manner.

The girl walked until she sat down next to Eun.

"Why are you late?" she mumbled.

"I'll explain later, I promise." Nari said as she began to write her notes.

"Yun Nari!" Mr. Hanz exclaimed as he ripped out a blue paper slip.

He stood in front of her desk, the blue detention slip was visible to her.

Detention again, ugh.

Nari nodded before sighing and paying attention to the rest of the class.

Out of nowhere, music started blasting from the classroom. Nari and her friends turned around. All seven boys, bangtan, were dancing on their seats very crazily and Jungkook held the speaker high on the air.

"Excuse me! This isn't a pub!" Mr. Hanz replied.

The boys just kept jumping up and down. This made the class chuckle in amusement. Nari was astonished.

"Well, you all get detention. Three weeks!" Mr. Hanz exclaimed as he passed the blue slip to all of them.

Surprisingly they stopped and sat down. Well this was weird. They must be up to something.

She looked back and saw Jungkook subtly wink at her before glancing at the board.

Okay, so yes, they were up to something.

                            -

"I can't believe he gave you detention for being late." Hyuk scoffed as he walked with the girls to his locker.

"You don't know how many times I tried telling him, he just wouldn't listen." Nari sighed.

Eun rolled her eyes, "Typical of Mr. Hanz, it's like he enjoys our endless suffering."

The three teens nodded before getting their belongings.

She still hadn't forgotten about yesterday. There is no way she could forget.

"Hey, I've been meaning to ask you both, what did Namjoon mean yesterday at lunch?" she asked as she took out her calculus book.

"It's a tough topic but we'll explain it when Hyuk feels comfortable to share it with you." Eun smiled at her and so did Hyuk.

Sincerity is the key to friendship. This was a good example of it. Nari simply nodded and understood his situation. He would tell her when he was ready.

After their talk, they walked with Nari to the detention classroom.

"Good luck. We'll be around if you need anything." Hyuk said to her as he patted her shoulder.

She nodded and waited until they left to go inside. The only ones there were the boys. They sat on the chairs with straight faces as the teacher just typed away on her laptop.

The seven boys sat on one table, all of them on their phones. Nari saw an empty chair on the other side of the classroom and she sat there.

The girl lowered her head to rest it on the table. She was tired; tired of school, tired of thinking.

"Boo." a whisper startled her from behind. She jumped on her chair.

Her face turned and saw Jin taking a seat beside her. The boys followed suit. Taehyung sat on her other side while the others were in front of her.

The girl just didn't dare to look at them. If she would, she knew she'd snap at some of them for their attitude.

Her eyes roamed around all the boys. They were with their phones out. In a typical detention classroom, no cellphones were allowed.

"You guys should not have your phones out." she pointed out as she put her hands on her lap.

Jin then was the one who answered, "You should shut your mouth."

"You should stop being rude to people!" she whispered as she glared at Jin.

Nari glanced at the boys to see them all trying to hold back their laughs. Taehyung held to his stomach, Yoongi snickered and so on.

"I'm not even going to answer." she sighed, Mr.Hanz had left the room.

The boys all chuckled. They had won this one, she'd win the next round. She wanted to see their shocked expressions so bad.

"So, Jungkook," she began and turned to the boy, he looked up from his phone questionably, "how did it go yesterday with the amm-"

Before she even said the word, a hand had covered her mouth.

"You cannot talk about things like that here, are you crazy?" Jimin asked as he had ran from the other end of the table to shush her, at least that's what Nari had thought since he was panting heavily.

Bangtan: 0
Nari: 1

Now they were even.

She smirked, "Why can't I talk about amm-"

"Do you want to die?" Jungkook asked as he suddenly sat beside her, switching places with Taehyung. Jungkook had pinched her side with so much force that she yelped.

The students that were with them in detention, which were the same ones from last time, had turned their head to them with confusion.

"Mind your own business, freaks." Hoseok said to them and they all turned back with a scowl on their faces.

There was no need to be rude.

"You know, there was no need for you to be rude to them." Nari crossed her arms on her chest as she tried to conceal the pain.

"There's no need for you to be cute, but who cares," Jungkook replied, "it's adorable actually."

Nari had scoffed but had to look away because if not, she'd stare at him for ages. She knew her cheeks had turned into a crimson shade.

One more point for them.

Yoongi scoffed from the end of the table, "Get a room, seriously just stop."

"Stop what?" both Nari and Jungkook answered at the same time.

She scowled at the boy.

The six boys rolled their eyes and continued searching on their phones.

"Nothing." Taehyung answered, he chuckled after.

What were they thinking?

Why would we get a room?

Ugh, they are getting weirder everyday.
