"Okay, so the adverb modifies what?" Nari asked as she took a sip of the juice Jungkook brought for both of them.
Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows, "Uh–the adjetive, and the um–verb?"
She nodded, "See, told you it was easy."
After their small, but significant discussion, they had calmed down and continued with what was left of their tutoring.
They had done a few grammar exercises and she had noticed Jungkook didn't understand a single thing. It's as if he wasn't even listening to the teacher at all, which didn't surprise her to be honest.
She was about to ask him another question when his phone started ringing, the sound of the mobile blaring through the boy's room.
He answered the phone that was on his night bed, meanwhile Nari just sat on the bed looking at his facial expressions change drastically.
He looked at her and she looked away, she didn't want to seem as if she was intruding his privacy.
"He wants ammunition now?" he bit his lip in nervousness.
She raised her eyebrows.
"Why don't you go with Namjoon? I'm doing something important." he said as he glanced
at Nari, who was also looking at him.
She stared at him, her eyebrows furrowed.
Nari saw his eyes darken as he nodded, stood up, "I'll be right there."
He hung up and turned to her.
"You're leaving, right now." he pointed at the door.
"There's a lot of stuff left, what do you mean I have to leave?" she asked as she stood up abruptly.
He walked towards her, took her backpack adjusting it on his back and walked outside his room, "I'll go to the bus stop with you, you have to leave."
They walked in silence through the spiral staircase, no words were brought up.
He opened the door for her, she just stood there.
"I'm not leaving until you tell me who called and what he meant by ammunition." she stood her ground.
Jungkook sighed, "It's none of your business, you are leaving."
"I'm not." she retorted.
At the blink of an eye, Jungkook had bent down and lifted her up to his shoulder, carrying her with his arm on her thighs for support.
"Let me go!" she shouted and he just kept walking outside, the only light emerged from the houses.
"You didn't do what I said, so this is what you get." he told her as they had reached the bus stop.
She huffed as she felt the blood go to her head, "Can you please let me go?"
And so he did, the sudden impact startled her. They stood two inches apart, if one of them moved closer, their lips would connect in an instant. She could see every detail on his face. His little wrinkles were noticeable, let's not forget his lips. Oh his lips, she glanced at them a few times and so did he. She had noticed that he glanced several times but didn't do anything.
She wondered how they would feel upon hers. She craved the sensation of his lips kissing hers.
"Apart from being a gang, we sell ammunition and all sorts of guns." he mumbled, looking at her with a fond expression.
She gulped, he was so close, and he still had his hand on her waist.
"So, you are just going to give the person ammo?" she asked him with a light voice.
Jungkook nodded.
She sighed as she glanced at his lips once more, "Do you guys kill people?"
"We try not to, but when it has to be done; we do it." he had placed a strand of hair that had fallen from the impact on her ear.
She looked down,"Do you ever feel guilty?"
The boy was still so close to her, "I was at first, but now we're used to it."
"Be careful." she told him with so much sincerity.
Even though he was in the wrong path, he was still human. He still had a beating heart that pumped crimson blood through his veins. He still got hurt; he still had feelings, and she knew that in this exact moment.
He gulped before nodding, "I will, don't worry." he smiled, the first time she saw his real smile.
His beautiful smile.
Nari nodded, suddenly her phone startled both teens. They grew apart again and just stood beside each other, sighing in disappointment that they couldn't hold each other longer.
She picked up her phone, glancing at Jungkook only to see him looking away from her.
"Hell–"
"Did you finish tutoring with the boy?"
"Yes mom."
"I need you at our house, right now."
"Is everything okay?"
"Nobody is hurt but I need to talk to you."
"Okay–and she hung up."
Jungkook was still beside her, "What happened?" he asked as he handed her the backpack.
"My mom needs to talk to me." she replied, placing the straps of the backpack on her shoulders.
She heard him chuckle, "I have a strong feeling that you are about to get whooped." he said.
"Both of us are about to get whooped, actually." she replied.
The bus rolled in front of them and stopped. It was Nari's time to go back home.
She started walking, "I guess I'll see you tomorrow." she said.
"Good bye, Nari." he replied as he stood, waiting for her to get in.
"Be careful." she repeated for the second time.
She saw him smile once more before nodding, "I will, don't worry. "
With his reassurance, she got inside the bus and sat down. She stared at the window and saw him waiting for the bus to leave.
Taking out her phone she texted him.
To: Jungkook
Try not to hurt anyone.
She saw him take out his phone and chuckle before he started typing away.
From: Jungkook
Try not to cry when you get whooped.
She chuckled and replied.
To: Jungkook
Same to you.
The bus started moving and she unconsciously waved at him, he waved back. She kept looking at him until his figure got smaller and blurrier from the distance.
That was the day where she began to see his real self, the real Jeon Jungkook. She would never forget it.

The girl had stepped on her house when she saw her mom sitting on the floor. She had bills all around her. Her hands were on her head as she sobbed.
"Mom?" she jogged up to her and hugged her from behind.
She admired her mom so much, her father had left them without an explanation. They were used to being all girls but sometimes being a single mother was hard.
"The money isn't enough. I thought they'd give me the first paycheck today but nothing." she gave her one of the papers.
"I can help you." she replied rapidly.
"No, your education comes first. The money will come, I have faith it will." her mother said as she started cleaning the floor with all the papers.
They both put everything back in place and her mother went to sleep.
She had to get a job from somewhere. She had to search for a job as fast as she could. She was going to help her family either way.
But where?

‼️ PLEASE READ UNTIL THE VERY END ‼️
This chapter had some deep problems in terms of the struggle that all single parents have to go through to sustain their children. This is something serious and should never be taken as a joke.
All similarities to reality are just pure coincidence.
I admire all those single parents who did everything by themselves and went through a lot to give their children the best time of their lives.
Also, I've said this sooooo many times by now but:
