FIFTY-THREE
He had begun to open his eyes slowly as he held on to Nari. They had both fallen asleep after having a long conversation. There, he told her everything that had happened that morning. Let's just say that he wasn't too happy with going back home.
He raised his head up looking for the clock.
'4:03PM' the red letters blinked rapidly, displaying the hour.
He sighed. No, he did not regret defending his girlfriend in front of his parents. He just felt like the way he said it was too much.
Mina had texted him a few times but he decided to just tell her that he was at Nari's; that he'd come home in the morning.
Jungkook tried to get out of the bed but Nari held him even closer.
"Babe." he whispered into her hair, placing a small kiss.
She mumbled a few words that he did not understand. He still found her cute. He always found her cute.
He smiled at her before patting her shoulder lightly, "I have to pee."
Nari whined, "No," she exclaimed as she held him to her.
"Yes," He laughed as he saw her raise her head up with a scowl on her face. Her tousled hair and puffy cheeks made him almost let out a giggle, "cute."
She let him go and went back to her much needed rest.
The boy stood up and stretched as he walked to Nari's bathroom silently. He looked at himself in the mirror and began splashing water to his face.
The coldness of the water relaxed him. He liked the cold.
Once he was done, his hands found the sink and gripped it.
He couldn't believe that he had let her see him in his weakest point. Sure, she was his girlfriend and that is what a relationship consisted of; leaning on each other in your darkest moments but he wasn't used to being in a serious relationship. Jungkook somehow felt relieved that he could tell her anything, anything and she would understand.
Hands found his waist and he felt a head rest in his back. He looked at himself again in the mirror and saw tears running out of his eyes; he was crying.
"I don't like seeing you cry."
Nari said to him as her soft lips touched his neck.
That reminded him of the time he said that to her, it reminded him of the way her face had relaxed when he had told her that. It reminded him of the way her pupils dilated and her lips stopped quivering once those words had gotten out of his lips. Now, it was her telling him that.
Oh the irony.
He laughed, "I'm supposed to be telling you that," he turned around and placed his arms around her back and hugged her to him, "I'm supposed to be strong, for you." he closed his eyes as he tried to calm himself down.
He was supposed to be the one that gave her strength; instead he was crying. He was being weak.
"No, hey," she looked up to his face and enclosed it with her hands on his cheeks, "crying makes us human, it's okay to cry once in a while." she said to him as she kissed his jawline making him sigh.
"My dad, he–um," Jungkook looked to the ceiling, as if he could find something there, "he used to tell me that crying was for the weak; that a man wasn't supposed to cry."
He paused before continuing, "I was taught not to be weak," his voice croaked, "he told me to be strong–"
"And you are," Nari replied with a smile on her face, "you are one of the strongest people I know, and that's what I love about you."
Her eyes twinkled as her pupils dilated once more, "You gave me strength when I needed it the most," she soothes out his hair, "but we have to let it all out sometimes. You are not weak."
He wasn't weak. He was just human. Sadness, fear and guilt were emotions that we can't escape even if we try to. They are part of us, they make us who we are.
Jungkook understood at that moment that all the feelings he had at that moment were there; he couldn't hide them. He couldn't hide the guilt he felt for what he did, the sadness for making his family cry and the fear of losing the ones he loved.
Just as he was about to talk, there was a knock on the door.
"Dinner is ready!" Ara's voice was heard outside the door.
Nari partes his shoulders, "We'll be there in a minute!"
"Let's go eat." she passed her hand around his arm, hooking her arm with his.
Her smile brought him back to life. She brought him back to life.

Dinner wasn't silent this time. In fact, it was filled with Nari's beautiful laughter and so many voices filled with happiness.
Once dinner had finished, they had sat on the couch with the tv on. Regular programming was shown all day, they were getting bored of it.
Out of nowhere, Jungkook's ringtone was heard. He rose his had from Nari's shoulder and fished for the item. Once he found it, he saw the caller I.D.
Yoongs
"Who is it?" Nari asked him.
"Yoongi," he replied, "that's weird."
He pressed the green button and placed the phone on his ear.
"Hello?"
"Change the tv to channel 9."
"Hello to you too."
"Turn to channel 9, now!"
"Okay, okay!"
Jungkook took the remote from the table in front of him and changed it to channel 9. He ignored the sounds of protest that filled the room.
"It'll be just for a second." He let out as he raised the volume.
The news was on. A woman with a red dress was in front of an alley way.
"Tonight on Busan, another robbery was reported by locals. This time, it was at the same place than in the last three month's robbery by the notorious gang Bangtan," the woman let out a breath, "unfortunately, this robbery ended in a fatal death of an old man by the name of Kwan Suk. He was the owner of a market downtown."
The woman read her papers that she clutched on her hands, "The man was found dead by a gun shot on his forehead. The police have reported that this has been associated with Bangtan once more. The police have posted pictures that have been circulating the internet about the suspects."
After she finished, a shot of a police officer appeared on the tv, "We ask for the citizen's cooperation with this investigation, if you know Bangtan's identities please go to your local police officers and let them know," the man held the microphone and squinted at the lights of the cameras, "they won't escape, they cannot escape Busan because we will find them and finally put an end to all of this crime. The numbers that you can call confidentially are 872–"
Jungkook's trembling hands turned off the tv. He turned to Nari who had a shocked expression.
"It wasn't us, he's trying to set us up."
"I know Yoongi. We have to do something about it."
This hadn't been done by them; this was all Zik's doing.
They had to do something before it was too late. It was time to get together and end this once and for all.
