  FORTY-THREE

"Don't do it." Hoseok told Jungkook who had stayed in his friend's room to play video games.

The girls had decided to all sleep in one room and the boys agreed to share beds on another room.

In other words, the group of  boys were now roommates for the time being.

Jungkook kept pushing the buttons on the control remote, "Five." he responded.

Hoseok furrowed his eyebrows and turned to his friend, "What?"

"Five times. You've told me that five times, hyung," the dark haired boy responded as he kept his gaze on the screen, "but I'm still going to do it."

"It's dangerous." Yoongi said, his head on Jimin's lap as he played with his phone on the bed.

He almost felt like the boys didn't believe in what he could do; that they didn't trust him, but that wasn't the case. They did believe in him and in his potential. The only thing was that they cared so much for him so they were just worried for his being.

Jungkook scoffed, "I'll be fine, I have to settle everything with him." he assured as he turned his focus to the group of guys who where scattered around the room.

Some were on another room, but Yoongi, Hoseok, Jungkook and Jimin had stayed on the same room.

"You're putting too much responsibility on yourself." Jimin answered.

The boy stayed quiet, he had decided to continue with the video game. Jungkook tried to let his mind relax with the game but it wasn't working.

Putting the game on hold, he had stood up and took his phone in his hands, "I'll be in the balcony up front."

When he left the room he let out a sigh. He was just a few feet away from his room, but he just needed a few minutes of complete and utter silence.

   Or so he thought.

"It's dangerous for you to be put here alone." Yugyeom said to him as he placed his arm around his shoulder.

Jungkook chuckled, "Everything is dangerous now."

     "Touché." Yugyeom responded.

"I just want all of this to end." he let out.

The boy next to him nodded, "I agree with you on that."

"Not just this," he said referring to the current situation, "but the killing, the persecution, the kidnapping; everything."

Yugyeom furrowed his eyebrows, "Kook, you're in a business that specializes on all of those things."

He knew that. He really did know that it was part of his job, but maybe it was time to leave. Maybe, this was the right moment to take that decision after all of this was over.

"Then maybe it's time for me to end this." he stared at the sky that had blue and pink hues in between. Its clouds were making different shapes of a heart, a dog and even a bunny.

He wished to feel as free and lightweight as the clouds. He wished to be free of the constant fear that creeped on him, but he had to wait. After everything is solved then he'll consider leaving the job to have a normal teenage life; life of parties, happiness, going out with Nari without no worries and just being carefree.

Yugyeom was about to say something but he was interrupted by someone calling him.

"I'll see you later, and Jungkook," Yugyeom said, "think that through, then make your decision." he smiled.

"Deal." Jungkook responded as he leaned on the railing of the balcony.

When Yugyeom has left him alone with the company of the guards on the doors, he took out his phone.

It was now or never.

He opened his messages and began typing.

To: Zik
meet me tomorrow, 10pm at the River.

To: Zik
Just you and me but bring her parents, take me instead.

"Why are you meeting Zik tomorrow?" he jumped as he was startled that Nari was behind him.

"You scared me." He went to hug her but she got out of the way.

Nari crossed her arms on her chest, "Why?" she asked.

"We're going to get your parents back, I'm meeting with him so we can take him down." the boy responded.

He didn't like to keep things from her. Jungkook felt awful.

"I'm going." she answered.

Jungkook nodded, he stayed silent as he watched her look at him silently.

She began closing their distance as she stood closer to him, chest to chest. She placed her hands on his cheeks. He felt his cheeks tingling at the sensation of her soft touch against his cold cheeks.

"He's not taking you–" she began.

"I know, I'm using it as a way to get him to come." he said.

She nodded and placed her hands behind his neck, "Just let me be the one to end him."

In that moment, he saw something different in her. She had changed, sure she was still his girlfriend and he loved her so much, but in her eyes there were other things. In her eyes there was anger, sadness, fear and rage burning through them.

"I can't promise you that, and trust me," he pressed his forehead against hers while closing his eyes, "you don't want to regret it later."

"I won't." she responded.

"When I first has to pull the trigger to kill someone, I was scared," the boy began saying, "and I still see it every time I have to pick up a gun."

"You still remember it?" he saw the fear in her eyes as she asked that.

Jungkook nodded, "Even after two years," he held her close to him and kissed her forehead, "I know I said that I might do it with you but I don't want you to be hurt."

Just as she was about to answer, his phone startled both teens.

He had received a message so he opened it.

    From: Zik

     giving up so easily?

   From: Zik

alright, but you better keep your word. Just us and her parents, no one else.

   From: Zik
I won't bring my men just for you, you better not bring your men too.

Jungkook sighed and looked at Nari who stared at the message with him.

"You're making him think that you're going alone?" she asked.

He nodded, "It got him to agree, so it worked."

Nari sighed and stood beside him, also looking at the now starry sky.

He took her hand that rested against the railing.

"I love you. No matter what happens tomorrow," he intertwined their fingers, "I'll always be there for you."

"I love you so much, I'll be there for you," her beautiful smile made him feel those butterflies in his stomach, "I'll be there for you until we grow old." she smiled even bigger as she said that.

Yes, he also wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He would do anything just to see her this happy.

"I promise to also be there for you until we grow old." he meant it with his heart, mind and soul. He hugged her tightly.

Her arms were behind his back. His hands on her waist and their breaths tangled as one. In the silence of the cold, starry night, they could feel their hearts beating harder by the second.

Here, in this exact moment, having her in his arms was his moment of utter relaxation, of safety. He wished that he would never have to let go, that he would have to stay like this for the rest of the night. Just them and the stars that witnessed their confirmation of their true love.
