FORTY-TWO (pt.2)

The air was dense. Silence filled the first floor of the open concept apartment complex. The mask hid Jungkook's face. No, he wasn't scared; he was worried for what might come next.

"Guard the entrance, just in case." Namjoon said to Jimin and Hoseok who grasped their guns to their chest.

   Both teens nodded before standing the front entrance. Everyone else stayed still, not knowing what to do.

    Namjoon later looked at the couple and responded, "Try calling him."

    "Okay." Nari responded as she took her phone and pressed her fingers rapidly.

    Namjoon motioned for her to give him the phone, so she did.

    "Are you crazy? He might hurt them." Taehyung scolded.

   This time, Jungkook responded, "Trust me, he won't." he let out.

    Namjoon waited a while until they heard another voice on the line.

    "No, it's Namjoon, glad to hear from you Yun–yeah, where are you?–we're here–she's not here, okay—" he stopped and his expression changed completely.

   Jungkook began panicking internally.

   "What happened?" Nari whispered.

   Suddenly a loud sound from another one of the floors was heard.

    Jungkook raised his head and saw some movement from the floor above them. He heard screams at the same time.

    A man with a black mask covering his face appeared from behind a door.

    Then, the face of a terrified Ara appeared as the man shoved in front of him. She was pressed against the railings with her hands behind her back.

    "Let her go!" Nari shouted as she pointed the gun from a far.

    Everyone else followed her movements and pointed their guns at the man.

    Jungkook gripped the gun to his chest. Footsteps where what he heard later as Jimin left his guard post and pointed the gun at the man with a worried facial expression.

   The man shook his head and lowered Ara's head more, making everyone's anger increase.

Jimin's voice filled the intercom on their ears, "I'll go up to the second floor and shoot him."

    "Once you shoot him, we'll run up to the second floor." Namjoon said.

     Once everyone had agreed, they saw Jimin jog up the stairs diligently.

    The man still gripped Ara's neck and held her very tightly.

     "Distract him." Hyuk mumbled through the intercom.

     "Please let her go, she's just a kid!" Yoongi pleaded.

     The man stood his ground and gripped her neck tighter.

    That is until a loud gun shot was heard and they saw the man fall to the ground.

    Everyone began running up the stairs. Jungkook felt that adrenaline that he hadn't felt in a while. The adrenaline that danger gave to him was like home to him.

    Once they got to where Ara was, they saw her clinging onto Jimin as she sobbed silently.

     "Hey, it's okay, I'm–we're here." he mumbled as he hugged her tightly.

    Jungkook heard Nari as she sighed, she hugged her sister tightly before turning to the boys.

    "Jimin, take her with the girls." Namjoon told him and he nodded before disappearing.

    Without thinking twice, Namjoon opened the door with his feet. Once again, the apartment was empty.

    Zik had left, for the second time. But this time, he had taken Nari and Ara's parents with him.

    "Search all the rooms." Namjoon let out, once more as he searched through the apartment.

    Jungkook took Nari with him as he searched in some kind of room. It seemed like a bed room, but it was empty. The only thing it had was a bed and some boxes.

    Nari kneeled next to the boxes and began searching through them frantically, without telling Jungkook.

   Jungkook noticed her desperation as she threw everything she found in the floor.

     "Nari–"Jungkook calles her but she kept searching through, as if she was looking for some kind of clue.

    "There needs to be something here, something to find my parents." she mumbled as she rummaged rapidly through the second box.

    She kept searching and searching until she stopped and placed her head on her hands.

     "Babe." he kneeled to her level, bringing his hands around her. 

    She cried, placing her hands on his.

    "I will kill him." she let out.

He held her tightly to his chest and here was when he noticed a big change. Now, Nari wasn't the same girl he knew. Now she was someone else; her tears were gone, her innocence corrupted. She had become the woman he loved who was seeking for her parents.

She was beautiful, so beautiful. At the same time, she was broken. It was almost impossible how one man had made her suffer immensely. Zik had made her suffer by taking her family. That was something unapologetic.

Jungkook had now engraved in his mind that once he sets his eyes on Zik, there was no turning back. He had two options; beat him up until he bled to his death or just shoot him and get everything over in just a few seconds.

He still didn't know what he would do.

His girlfriend had finally dozed off to sleep with the help of her little sister. Ara had cuddled up to her and they both slept soundly. Now they had gotten into the van and now where on their way to the motel.

The girls, all except Nari and Ara, had stayed with Yugyeom on his van because he had agreed to take them to the motel. Now both cans were on their way there.

Jungkook was beside Nari and held her hand on the ride home.

"We need to do something." Jimin said.

"Like what?" Namjoon asked.

"Lure him to us." he responded.

Jin scoffed, "Yeah but how will we do that?"

"We could use Mel as a way to lure him but–" Hoseok began.

"Don't even think about it." Hyuk said to him.

Then, Jungkook remembered what Zik had told him before escaping. He hadn't told anyone, but he had let Nari know a little bit of what had actually happened.

The idea popped into his head but he was adamant to it. But, after all, he would do anything to keep his friends, his girlfriend and her family safe. Because of that, he let out those words that had been stuck behind his head.

"Use me as a way of luring him." he told the boys who had now a puzzled face in their expressions.

"W–what?" Taehyung asked as he widened his eyes.

"No. No way." Namjoon scolded him.

Jungkook sighed before turning to the boys, "He's doing this because of me, we all know this."

All the boys stayed silent. Jungkook took this as his cue to continue.

"I could arrange a meeting with him somewhere," the boy began explaining, "once he arrives, we take him down."

"That actually sounds like a good idea, but no," Namjoon responded, "I can't risk losing you over–"

That exact moment was when Jungkook exploded. He had begun feeling guilty ever since Zik told him that he would look everywhere for him.

"I just want to end this, I just want to end her suffering; their suffering, our suffering," he almost shouted, but he kept his composure, "if this is the only way that I can achieve that, then so be it." Jungkook finally let out his real feelings.

It was true. He wanted to end everyone's suffering in general. It included Nari and her family's suffering.

No, he wasn't trying to be the hero. Instead he was trying to make something right in his life for once and let himself feel those indescribable feelings that he felt for his girlfriend, once and for all.

Namjoon sighed before speaking, "You're right."

"Then what does that mean?" he asked Namjoon, shyly. He almost shouted at his boss and friend again, and the first time he did that it wasn't pretty at all.

"It means yes." Namjoon responded.

He loved Nari. He cared for his friends and her family. Now, it was time to do something right for the group of important people in his life aside from his family.

Hello! Yes, the update is a bit late. I'm sorry for that. But idk why, I feel like I get more creative at night. This was longer than the first part as I promised.

Btw are you guys excited for the bbma's? I am so excited to see the boys perform and also to vote once again for them!

Also, congrats to everyone who is seeing the boys on tour this August! Always remember to stay safe and to have fun ❤️
