Chapter 8

*Andor's Pov*

I wake up hearing Justice's screams. I have no clue where I am. A prison it seems.

"Helgrind he's awake." A deep male voice says and Dad walks in.

"Son tell me what their plans are." He says sitting next to the bed I'm strapped down to.

"No." Is all I can say. A man in a white lab coat wheels in a cart of different chemicals and shock revivers.

"Son, tell me what they are planning. Or there will be punishments.

"NO! PLEASE!" Justice cries and Dad gives me a sympathetic look.

"Andor. I give you one last chance. Tell me what they are planning to do."

"No."

"Light dose to start him off." Dad says and moves behind the man in the coat. He poures a bluish liquid into a serum gun.

"What is that?" I ask as he gets close to me with the gun.

"Dad! What-" A pain so great I'd rather be dead rings through my neck and down my spinal chord. My vision starts to blur and I let my eyes close.

"Lets just hope the nightmares will be enough. I don't want what's happening to Justice happen to my son." Is the last thing I hear before falling out of consciousness.

*Jordan's Pov*

Maddi sits across from me. Hatred in her dry eyes.

"Are you happy now?" She whispers and I feel Capsize stiffen in my arms.

"Are you happy he's gone?!"

"Madelyn! Stop it." Wag says but she just shakes her head and runs upstairs.

"We should all get some sleep. I feel the road from here on out won't be so smooth." Wag says and I let him have my room. What do I do now? I pour myself a glass of wine and pop a tape into the DVR.

"Hey Andor. Last reading obviously wasn't correct so we gotta get you a new one!" Eleanor says happily.

"Humm that's interesting. It says you will be defiant. But you're such a good boy now?" A door slamming cuts her off.

"That will be all for today. I love you baby boy." The tape cuts out at that and I find myself addicted. What can I discover about Andor's past? Or our.... I mean his future.

"Welcome back again. Prim's six months now. I know you can't wait to be a big brother! But lets get on with your reading!"
Eleanor's smile fades and I see a tear run down her face.

"It says you're time here with us is limited. That torture will come your way." The tape cuts out and I pour another glass of wine.

Time Skip

With every tape I watch, I notice Eleanor getting sicker and sicker.

"It says you will die! You'll die a horrible death and go on to explore the underworld with Dianite!" She cries coughing up red fluid. Blood?

"Remember the man Andor! The one I tell you and Justice about everyday!" She cut off by gun shots. She takes the camera and runs into what is now Andor's room.

"Mom! What's going on!" A little blonde girl yells. She's sitting in Andor's arms. He was so cute as a child!

"Kids under the vanity! Under the vanity!" She panics and they obey.

"Goodbye children." She whispers and the tape cuts out. Did Andor watch this! Did he relive his past? This is only a start at what drove him to today's event. Justice, the tapes, and me. But that's not it. There simply has to be more. More he hid from me.

*Andor's Pov*

"Ready to talk?" Dad asks me rudely. The tears run down my face, faster and faster as the line between reality and fantasy start to blend together.

"Answer me Andor! Haven't I taught you better!" Dad yells but I con only close my eyes and wait for the pain to come.

*Justice's Pov*

I sit at my cell door. Helgrind made a point to let me be able to see into Andor's cell and he into mine. He got tied down. I did not. He gets the shot, I get shock treatment. I see the needle go into Andor's arm then I hear his cry. Helgrind turns and sees me. I know the shock is soon to come.

"He's slowly gonna forget the reality of Jordan. And this whole rebellion." Dr. Harris says slowly walking into my cell.

"LEAVE HIS HEAD ALONE! TAKE HIS SANITY BUT LEAVE HIS MEMORY ALONE!" The pain comes and I cry out. I feel the electricity flooding through my veins. This isn't okay. We're not okay.

*Jordan's Pov*

I never thought I'd ever say this, but I hope Justice is okay as well as Andor. I can't image what they're going through right now. We've found a way to hijack the Broadcast system. That's how we're gonna get the song out. That's how we're gonna.....

"Jordan, you gotta see this." Maddi says pulling me off the couch. We walk to the towns bridge at just before it is a tainted statue. A lady with long faded violet hair stands beside it. Crying.

"I warned you." She sobs looking up at me. I instantly remember her. After Andor's speech she came to me.

"What?" I ask looking over at Tom, who's jaw is hung open.

"Do you know what this is?" I ask and she looks up at me.

"What does it look like!" She snaps harshly.
"Lady Taintanite." I reply trying to lighten the mood. But no one laughs.

"Such a name is disrespectful, but you're right on it." Martha(?) says. Yeah that was her name! Martha.

"I mean no such disrespect, merely combining words." I speak up for myself.

"Need we do something about this?" I ask after a long moment of shock and disbelief.
Martha just shakes her head at me.

"Do whatever you want." She says sniffling. Andor always did that when he cried.

"I mean why are you shakimg your head." I answer.

"This didn't need to happen." Martha says reaching up and wiping one of her tears.

"What caused it?"

"What do you think? Think for yourself."

"I think it may have been the King." I pause I have no clue what to say next. Am I really about to let my nerves take over?

"His disdain for Ianite maybe"

"It is a reflection of the bond between Ianite and Dagrun." Martha says. And more of us gather around.

"God damn it Andor." Wag mumbles under his breath.

The goddess and her beloved home. " Martha pauses to to out a cry.

"The bond festers with bitterness and vengeance."

"Can you mend such a thing?" She asks me directly.

"Would you dare try?"

"I would like to try." I answer,

"Then I will not ask you to return to your home. Your other world." Martha says moving her eyes back and forth between me and Tom. She was gonna make us leave?

"Please stay and do what's best for the relationships you have formed." Martha pleads. I'm assuming she's taking about Andor and myself. Tom shoves me forwards more towards Martha.

"I can see Ianite loves you." She says strongly.

"Her spirit surrounds you."

"Indeed I have always felt that." I whisper.

"But you must channel it more powerfully."

"You must take up your mantle." Martha pauses and says just about the most Andor like thing I've ever herd.

"Let go of fear." I can almost hear Andor's voice in Martha's. That's what he would tell me to do.

"Do you know where Prince Andor and Steve are?" I ask her.

"The location of the prision is a well kept secret." Martha says looking up at the tainted lady's head.

"But I know Steve is able to find it, with your help."

"Yes I would like to help."

"I'll do whatever it takes." Martha gives a limp smile before letting it fade again.

"I watched my nephew preach his heart out and crumple to the ground yesturday." She says now crying again.

"That's your nephew?"

"Andor." I say more than ask.

"Yes." Martha answers politely.

"This did not need to happen." She sighs.

"The lieutenant his brother?" I ask trying to get a family tree going.

"No. The speech was addressed to Helgrind." Martha says clearing up my confusion just a bit.

"Is the king your brother?" Wag asks, his british accent REALLY ringing through.

"Yes. Yes he is." She pauses and her eyes fall on me.

"And Ianite is our mother."

"Wait, Ianite is the kings mother to?" I ask, and Martha just nods.

"Oh my god." Maddi is now in Wag's arms. Her fave buried in his chest. She's as panicked about Andor as I am.

"Martha." Helgrind's voice echoes as he shoves me aside.

"What a tangled web we have to weave, eh?" Martha smart mouths.

"You've gone too far." Helgrind snaps at her.

"You have gone too far." She snaps back just as harsh.

"Uh oh." I say a little more loudly than I meant to.

"I have no more business here." Martha says looking past Helgrind and at me.

"No doubt your mystical dabblings have caused this hellish apparition at Dagrun's gate." Time for a sibling battle I suppose!

"You accuse me of adbblings apostle?" Martha asks.

"You bring this to our gate, do the fair thing amd remove it." Helgrind nearly yells at her. Wait if he's here, who's with Andor?

"Yours are more than dabblings." Martha mumbles only loud enough to be heard.

"Your sprit is entrenched in apparitions." Martha says and the king lets out a slight laugh at her.

"Indeed, I am committed to my god, but only because I know he is the only solution."

"I will not waist my words on you!" Martha yells in the most girlyist tone I've ever herd.

"Martha, who is your father?" I ask only to be ignored.

"Take note from what happened to Andor, Martha. And be sure you do not follow in his footsteps." Helgrind says and I feel my heart crack.

"Do you think you can defeat me?!" Martha shrieks again.

"We know my powers are strong, not yours." Helgrind says in a playful manner.

"My magic would crush you." Martha snaps at him. Not being so lighthearted.

"You would bring Mianite down on this city. I know you would." She finishes and Helgrind being himself gets the last word.

"I mist return to my prayers. No more talk of this." He snaps amd teleports away.

"Sparklez." Martha says placing her hand on my shoulder gently.

"Our father was a good man, and the founder of Dagrun." She says letting out a sigh.

"What was his name?" I ask but she ignores my question.

"He made his pilgrimage here when the meddows were green and lush." She says.

"His name? Hummmhmm..." she says as if she's deciphering weather or not to tell me.
"Do you know his name?" I ask her gently.

"I do but its not for now." She teleports off after that.

"Okay." I whisper.
