Emma was going through her list of places she never went by herself when she heard her phone ring. Slipping a glance at the screen, Emma found it was Alison, the girl who always dared her to go places when she was out of ideas.
Have any ideas where to go?
Not wanting to answer, she ignored it and threw her phone onto her bed, where it landed with a muffled thump.

She folded up her list and went to her calendar, writing 'Cave' on May 16th. Then she slung her backpack over her shoulder and headed out. She didn't forget to stuff her phone in her pocket, of course.

Emma looked curiously around at her surroundings. She was in the woods of her town, where she often came when she had free time to waste. Today, she had wandered off the path and into nowhere in particular so she could have peace.
And by doing so, she had found the most wondrous thing in her life.
An old hamlet, deep in the woods, and also in the middle of nowhere.
Oh wow, Emma thought This is the best thing ever! I wonder if anyone found this hamlet before. They probably did, considering the technology is this good...
She set her backpack down at the foot of a tree and started to roam around the hamlet, noting every splinter and crack in the buildings.
Then she saw a door. Sure, she'd seen doors every second of her life, but this door looked different.
No, this door felt different.
It was an old blue door, all cracked and splintered but surprisingly hard and steady. As she ran her fingers down the door, she found that the paint had worn down in some places and was left bare and brown.
She also found that the door had no doorknob.
And that it was firmly shut.
She pried at it, shook it, and even kicked it a little, but it didn't budge, not even a centimeter. Frowning, Emma gave it one last shake before sitting down on a boulder.
But then, the door shook and swung open on it's own accord.
Gasping with surprise, Emma jumped up and went to investigate it. There wasn't anything inside, just empty space.
Then, with a flash of light that blinded her, she was sucked into the door.
----------------------
"Ughh," Emma groaned and sat up. She saw that she was in the middle of the woods, but it wasn't familiar. She looked around for anything she would recognise, but there was nothing. None. Zilch. Nada.
Realizing that she had to find something, anything, that she could use to find my way home, Emma shot up to her feet and searched her surroundings.
There were a few trees, a few more, and a lot more trees, saplings, rocks, boulders, a clearing, and a small pool of water. There were also grass growing in the clearing.
"Where in the world am I?" Emma asked aloud.
For there weren't anyone or anything near her, only silence answered. Feeling quite stupid asking questions to no one, she considered climbing to see over the treetops and at the world outside.
Nodding to herself, Emma carefully picked a tree, shaking each one to see which one could hold her weight the best. Finally, she picked a sturdy and thick tree with a lot of twigs sticking out of it and started to climb slowly.
Go up a few feet, rest a few seconds, go up another few feet, rest a few soconds... Emma thought repeatedly
Soon, she was reaching the top part of the tree and swaying dangerously. She was scared she'd fall 'I'm good as dead if I fall from this height' she thought as she clung to a branch.
"Okay, calm down, you're fine, you're fi-ahh!" she screamed when she felt a paticularly strong wind blow. She swung from side to side, holding on as if her life depended on it, which, in fact, did.
When she finally reached the top, Emma rested for a few minutes before peeking through the leaves and branches that were covering her sight.
"Woah..." Emma gaped at the veiw. Everywhere she looked, there were trees with leaves the colors of the rainbow.
"I can't believe this, how..?" she was soon cut off by a bright green bird, barely bigger than her thumb, that had flew into her. "Oh, hello, little guy," Emma cooed at the bird, which soon turned into a giant eagle and screeched at her.
"What the-" Emma gasped and leaned back, loosing her balance and started to fall to the ground.
But she kept falling, non-stop.
