*Sonic's POV*
"Get out!" Fleetway shouted furiously as he threw the toaster at me. It hit me in the shoulder. "GET. OUT!" I dashed outside, slamming the door behind me and resting back on it as I slid down and broke down.

He was having another episode. I hadn't even done anything other than told him his food was ready. He had started calling me names, but I knew it was my fault. I didn't pay his plug in time, and now the guy refused to sell to Fleetway. He had every right to be mad at me.

I stood up after I calmed myself down and started scratching my wrist, then my arm as I kept walking. I needed to find someone who could help me find more for Fleetway, even for me. I don't think I have been sober for this long.

I decided to go to the bar and see if Spike was there, hoping it was despite it being 11 in the morning. I got to the building and tried to open the door, then noticed it was locked.

"It opens in another hour." I quickly turned when I heard Spike. He walked past me to unlock the door and then let me in. "I don't think I've ever seen you here this early. Everything okay?"

"You have a plug, don't you? You must know someone." I asked.

"Why? Cause I'm a bartender? I should immediately be fucked up in who knows what? And know everyone who sells? That is so stereotypical, Sonic." He scoffed and walked behind the bar as he started setting everything up. "Anyways, yeah. I do. What's up? What do you need?"

I chuckled softly, a genuine smile which had not been present in the past year. I walked to the bar and sat down on my usual spot. I told him what I was looking for and he nodded.

"Is it for you or for your idiot husband?" He looked down, his ears perking up. "You're not wearing your ring? Did you finally open your eyes and get a divorce?"

"What?" I quickly looked down and froze. "Shit. Fuck. Shit. Shit." I stood up in a rush and immediately looked through the pockets in my jacket.

"Oh come on." Spike rolled his eyes then grabbed my wrist roughly when he saw I was about to leave running. "You're not going back to him." He said angrily.

"I have to. He's going to be mad if he sees I don't have my ring while I am out of the house. He's-" He interrupted me by slapping me roughly across the face. I gasped and held my muzzle in pain.

"Snap. Out. Of. It!" He shouted. "That man doesn't love you! He's manipulating you into thinking he does! He is just using you, Sonic!" He grabbed my shoulders and started shaking me. "You cannot tell me you still believe that guy loves you! He hurts you, I mean, just look at you! Do you really think this is normal?"

I felt as tears escaped my eyes, but no sound came out of me. I wanted to yell back, I wanted to defend Fleetway, tell Spike that he was wrong. But no words came out. Not a single one. The only thing speaking were the tears streaming down as he kept yelling at me.

"Your relationship with Shadow should be an example for you! Shadow never hurt you this way! Do you really think it is love what this guy feels?! You need to leave him! You need to run away! You need to snap out of it!" He was growling at me now then suddenly, he hugged me.

I tensed up and my legs gave out when he hugged me that I fell to my knees but he held me as we both got there. He was on his knees as well, hugging me and rubbing my back. I can't remember the last time someone hugged me.

"You need to get as far away from him." He said calmly now. "You need to open your eyes."

"I know." I whispered. Words finally coming out. "But he's the only one I have left. Without him, without him I am no one. I am nothing to anyone." I cried. My voice breaking but for once, not afraid that I'd get hit for crying.

The door rattled and I quickly shoved him away and looked at the door. A customer had tried to open but realized it was locked and left. My heart was beating rapidly, I had imagined it would be Fleetway coming for me to get mad over not wearing the wedding ring.

I held my chest and cleaned up my tears then stood up. "You're wrong, Sonic." Spike said as he stood up as well.

"I can't leave him." I shook my head and he sighed then nodded slowly.

"I can't force you to." He wrote down a number on a piece of paper then passed it to me then reached for the lost and found box and grabbed a small see through bag with exactky what Fleetway needed. "One of the plugs I know. Give this to Fleetway and he shouldn't be so mad at you. If you change your mind, I am here, and already know how to get you out of that situation. But you need to want to."

"Thank you." I grabbed the stuff then walked away, going home.

Fleetway got mad at me for the ring, he had found it and instantly took me to the room where he had his fun with me for 3 hours straight. I was exhausted and wanted to cry but he was calmer with me because I had managed to get him what he needed.

This was the first time I was sober in the year I had been married to him. I felt like I needed the substances I had been taking, I wanted to smoke or drink but I also felt like myself again. Even if it was for a brief moment, before Scourge grabbed my face and made me eat a gummy that left me unavailable for 2 days straight.
