*Sonic's POV*
"Every time I see you, you look skinnier. You're skin and bones now, here. Eat this." Spike said as he pushed a bowl of nachos close to me, but I pushed it back.
"I'm good." I said, which seemed to anger him because he reached over the counter and unzipped my jacket, exposing every single injury I had. I tensed up and shoved him back, then quickly zipped it back up.
"I thought so. He's hurting you. Why are you still with him?" He poured me a drink without me even asking for it.
"He doesn't mean to hurt me. He loves me." I grabbed the glass and chugged it.
"Do you really believe someone who hurts you and leaves you this way actually loves you? I've never ONCE seen you sober. You're always walking in here stumbling into something or someone." He crossed his arms.
"He loves me. He married me, and he wants to have a family with me someday. He didn't leave me like everyone else did." I started talking, I felt calm talking to him. Maybe because he was the only other person I talked to other than Fleetway. I had not made any friends since I moved in with Fleetway.
Spike was the only one who knew who I was. That was partly my fault because I always kept my hood up to hide my identity. Fleetway was right, I could not let Eggman find out where I was or he would come after me and Fleetway. That was a problem, I was not in the right state of mind to defend myself, which meant that I was weak and that Fleetway would leave me if he found out.
Was it so wrong to hide that from him? That I was weak?
"Really? I mean, you told me yesterday you've been with him for a year already. Why haven't you adopted yet if he claims he wants a family? How come you are always alone when you come here if he supposedly loves you so much?" I growled and threw the glass cup at him. He moved out of the way and watched as it hit the wall behind him and shattered.
"I know he loves me. That's all that matters." I glared at him. I wanted to yell at him, tell him everything Fleetway has ever told me. He didn't hurt me because he wanted to, he hurt me to make me stronger, he did everything he did because he cared about me, because he was in love with me. That would never change. I just had to learn to listen, to do what he wanted so I could stay safe. Like he wanted me to be.
"That's going in your tab, and you're cut off for the night." I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. "I'm worried about you. You need to eat something."
"I'm not hungry." I pushed the nachos away again. Looking at the food made me very nauseous. It always did now that I had to stop eating so much for Fleetway. Every time I did eat, I would make myself throw up because it made me feel disgusting, made me feel fat, self-conscious, unappreciated, and unlovable. Fleetway was just taking care of me. That's all he was doing.
"You are. I can tell. Maybe a hamburger would be better?" He asked, I felt as my stomach growled, but I refused to eat.
"No. I am fine." I stood up. "If you're cutting me off, then I'm going home." With that said, I started making ny way home.
I looked down at my wrists, which were covered by the sleeves of the jacket, then sighed as I kept walking. I remembered the day Fleetway gave me the blade. He gave it to me as a temptation, said the pain would go away if I did this. The pain did not go away.
*Narrators POV*
The bartender watched as his usual customer walked out of the bar. He poured himself a shot and took it before getting on his phone and looking for someone to call.
He dialed the first phone number he found, the one and only Amy Rose. "Hello, how can I help you?" The pink hedgehog answered the phone cheerfully.
"Hey, uh, is this Amy? I am calling because Sonic -" The bartender heard as the line cut off. He tried to dial the number again, but the call instantly went to voicemail. He decided to call the next number in line.
"Tails here." The twin tailed fox picked up the phone.
"Great, you're Sonics best friend, right? He -" The line cut off again without any explanation. He tried to call back, but the response was the same as Amy's.
He wondered what may have happened between the heroes for the azure one to have been cast out. He wondered if he should be making more calls, but customers decided for him by walking in and asking for drinks, keeping the brown fox occupied.
Although he had just met the former hero, he knew he needed to help him. He would never forgive himself if the hero did not return. Which got him worried again at the idea of the hero never returning again.
He spent the rest of his shift thinking of what to do, finally coming up with a solution at the end of the day.

OKAY! I FINISHED THIS STORY!
The end product is not so bad. I did delete like 3 chapters full of stuff you guys don't even want to know!
I will keep the mature content on this book though because it does have trigger warnings so yeah but honestly! Not so bad. No need to be THAT scared at the beginning because I did decide to hold back A LOT.
Rereading it now with the edits and the cuts I made, I am no longer scared lol
