*Sonic's POV*
"Are you okay?" Spike instantly asked me, worried, as soon as he looked at me get to the bar. "Chaos, you're hurt." He jumped the bar and raised my chin so I could look at him. "That's a black eye for sure. Who did this?"
"I got into a fight on my way here. You know, people are mad because I don't go help the team with Eggman." I shrugged and pulled away them tapped the bar. "The usual."
"Are you high again?" He asked. "I don't think I've ever seen you sober." He jumped the counter again and handed me a bag of ice to place on my face, then he handed me my drink.
"So what?" I rolled my eyes, growling lowly and chugged down the cup. I sighed. The usual wasn't doing it for me anymore. I wanted the pain to go away, and it wasn't working anymore. "Give me whiskey, the size you would need if you owned the place." I tapped the bar, demanding the drink.
This bar was a piece of trash. There were always fights. All the tables were broken and fixed up multiple times already. It was a dangerous place to be at, especially at night in this side of town, that now the waiters carried weapons with them. I wouldn't be surprised if Spike did as well.
Spike stayed quiet and then handed me a full bottle of whiskey. He thought about it, then stopped me before I could reach for it and handed me two more full bottles of whiskey.
"That bad, aye?" I chuckled with a playfully roll of my eyes and opened a bottle, then started chugging it.
"It ain't easy working here." He shrugged. "You may want to slow down. I don't know who to call for you, and you're already cross faded as it is."
"No need to call anyone. I'd just pass out here. He will show up soon enough to take me home." I laughed as I put the bottle down, still holding onto it.
"Who?" Spike asked, my vision getting blurry by now and my head feeling suddenly very light.
"My husband." I laughed again.
"Shadow?" Hearing that name made me want to throw up.
"Chaos. No. Shadow didn't want to get married. In fact, he didn't even want to be with me enough to stop going on missions." A tear rolled down my muzzle as I remembered our talk.
He had just arrived home when I decided to sit him down to talk. He knew it was serious and decided to listen. I told him I loved him, loved him more than I have ever loved anyone before, he told me he felt the same way and asked what was going on. I started crying to him, telling him exactly how I felt. He remained quiet, listening to me without any interruptions until the end. I told him I wanted to get married and start a family, and he told me he didn't think it was a good idea. I told him I wanted him to stop going on missions, and he told me he wouldn't do that. I told him I wanted him home, and he told me he was sorry. I told Shadow we wanted different things, and he told me we did. So we ended it.
We ended it in good terms, and the two of us promised we would keep in contact. We had shared 3 beautiful years together, full of adventure, happiness, and love, and we dumped it all away. Maybe we could have found something to do for the relationship to work? Or maybe we just weren't meant to be together like we thought we were.
I never saw him again after I moved out. He never reached out. He never visited me. He never cared. And neither did my friends. Everyone left me, even after I tried to show up at Amy's house or Tails', they always ignored me.
And when Eggman came back one year ago, they didn't even try to contact me either. They didn't try to ask for my help. I had to find out through the news that they were all back together, even Shadow, who was never even in town because he was always busy with G.U.N. missions.
"Sonic?" Spike asked, hearing his voice made me snap back to reality.
"What?" I looked up. It seemed like he duplicated, but I realized I was just seeing stuff. "Whoa." I gasped when I nearly fell off my stool.
"I asked. Who did you marry?" He asked, taking away the bottle of whiskey from my hands. "And I am cutting you off now."
"Fleetway." I chuckled softly and put my head down. "But I'm not supposed to tell anyone so shhhh." I raised a finger in the air, suddenly slamming my hand back down and looking up. "Bucket."
"Shit. Really?" He bent down and picked up the trashcan he had behind the bar and passed it to me. "You're a mess."
"Shut up." I groaned and threw up into the bucket. While I was busy, he reached over the counter and grabbed my phone. "Hey!" I grabbed a napkin and cleaned my face, feeling absolutely disgusting.
"Calling your husband to pick you up." My heart stopped when he said that, but by the time I reached for my phone back, he had already dialed the number.
"Hello? No. No, I am the bartender. Chaos. I am just calling to let you know that Sonic is not feeling well and you should pick him up." Spike rolled his eyes. At some point, he clenched his fists and hung up the phone. "Guess I am calling you a cab." He sighed and made yet another phone call.
I couldn't stop staring at my phone, which he had placed on the counter. Just looking at it scared me, I knew that I would hear from him when I got home.
"Are you okay?" Spike asked as he looked at me. I looked up and nodded, then got off the seat, I grabbed my phone and put it in my jacket pocket, then started running away, immediately bumping into someone.
