Fuck.

Fuck fuck fuck.

Fucking hell.

Those were my only damn thoughts when Kaydence stepped out of the restroom completely and utterly butt naked. I was holding my own, thinking that if I stood by her room she would be too cold and budge, and agree to let me go to Colorado with her and Nicole. My plan backfired though when she had the decency to strut her petite, curvy little ass out as if it were the most normal thing to walk nude in front of your ex -boyfriend. She caught me off guard, and I was torn between feeling turned on or pissed off.

I sat in the living room now, bouncing my leg uncontrollably as I tried to rid the image of her soft skin from my mind. As much as I was annoyed with her and angry for leaving me months ago, there was no denying that I wasn't still attracted to her. Her body has matured more than I could think possible in the last eleven months, and it was bringing a very familiar throb to my dick.

"Hey, I'm back!" Nicole suddenly calls through the front door and rips me away from inappropriate thoughts of Kaydence. I pull my chewed up fingers away from my mouth and place my hand on my thigh, just in time to see Nicole saunter through the living room with her hand clasped around her purse strap.

"Where's Kay?" Nicole asks, tossing her keys on the glass table in front of me and I shrug nonchalantly.

"Changing, probably." I avert my eyes away from her as my mind starts to drift back to the  gutter and Nicole tilts her head, her eyes narrowing in on me.

"Did something happen while I was gone?"

"No." I say too damn quickly and feel the heat suddenly rushing to my cheeks. Why the fuck was I blushing?

"Liar," Nicole smiles and I can tell by the way she presses her lips together she's trying to keep from laughing. "You're blushing mad. What happened?"

"Nothing." I snap and turn my chin down to the floor. I don't want to fucking look at her while Kaydence's bare tits are flashing through my head right now. Fuck Kaydence and her damn nice ass and her damn nice rack.

"I still don't believe you." She laughs. "Come on, tell me what happened?"

I roll my eyes at the ginormous smile plastered on her face. "Just tell Kaydence to keep her damn clothes on, alright?"

Nicole's eyes widen momentarily before she bursts into fits of laughter, leaning over and clutching her stomach. "No she fucking didn't." She laughs more and turns to run out of the room, calling Kaydence's name before opening her bedroom door and laughing more as she closes it behind her. Whatever. She could laugh all she wanted for all I cared.

While I try to listen to the small chatter behind the door, I stand from the couch and pick my duffel bag off the floor. I set it onto the couch next to me and rip the dirty black shirt I'm wearing off as I open the bag and search for a clean one. In the process of doing this I catch a small silver glimmer from the light hitting something and I stop. I scrunch my eyes at the tiny silver object, and then bend my head to get a better look as I pick it up out of my bag.

My heart sinks into my stomach when it's out of my bag completely and resting in palm as I come to terms with what it is. The silver charm is a rose, hanging from a silver chain and memories of me buying it back in England when I had gone to visit last year drift through my mind. I had bought it for Kaydence, in memory of our first official date together when I had filled the roof top with hundreds of roses that lid up the damn place. She loved it, and I knew if I had gotten this for her she would have loved this too. I never got to give it to her though due to the fight we got in once I flew back here when I thought she was cheating on me with Max. I forgot about it entirely, and seeing it now brought back a shit ton of pain.

I hear Kaydence's bedroom door open along with the sound of two pairs of feet shuffling across the wooden floor but I don't look up from the charm in my hand. Even though part of me knows I need to put it away right now, I'm frozen and I can't seem to move.

"Hey, what's that?" Nicole says, stepping over me to look into my palm and it's then that I blink up at Nicole to catch the realization on her face. Of course she would know what this is, she was with me when I bought it.

"Oh." She breathes out, looking at me with pity. I turn my head down and away from her, not wanting to see the sad look on her face. I don't want her or anyone feeling bad for me. It only makes me feel more like shit.

My eyes flicker up to catch Kaydence's eyes fixated on the charm, her eyes narrowing in on it as if she knows that it was supposed to be for her. Just then she looks up at me with a look on her face that I can't read, and then turns to stare at the rose tattoo on my arm. I tuck it between me and the arm of the couch so she can't see it and thrust my hand towards Nicole's face.

"Here, take it."

"W-what?" Her eyes are wide and she's looking at me as if I have grown a third head. Maybe even a fourth.

"Take it." I say again, holding my hand out further. She stares at the charm and her eyes move to look at Kaydence, whose face is turned up into a scowl. If I didn't know any better I would say she looked just a little fucking jealous. Good.

"Um, Harry I don't-,"

"Take it Nicole." I say coldly, giving her a look that I know only she will understand. She stares at me a moment longer, then nods before taking the charm from my hand and grasping it into her own. She looks down at it and her bottom lip juts out into a pout as a frown forms on her face.

"Put it on."

Her eyes snap up to look at mine and if looks could kill I swear I'd be dead right now. She shakes her head ever so slightly just as I risk a glance at Kaydence to see her hands balled into fists at her sides. I'm fucking loving this.

"Put it on." I encourage her again, letting a smile form on my lips just as Nicole rolls her eyes before she lifts her hands to clasp the necklace around her neck. She sweeps her hair back over her shoulders, glancing down at the necklace as well as Kaydence.

Kaydence clears her throat and awkwardly pushes a strand of her dark hair behind her ear. "It's pretty."

"Yeah, looks good on you." I compliment.

Nicole shoots me a glare. "Um, thanks."

Kaydence sighs and shifts uncomfortably on her feet, lifting her hand to scratch the back of her neck and focusing her gaze on Nicole. "Can we go now?"

"Where are you two going?" I ask.

"Shopping for Colorado." Nicole states and she glances at me momentarily before looking back at Kaydence. "Did he...?"

"Yeah. He asked me. And the answer is no." Kaydence says coldly and my back straightens against the couch. She doesn't honestly think I'm going to give up that easily does she?

"What? Then why did you say I could?" I fake shock and a little bit of hurt and receive Kaydence's mouth practically hitting the floor while Nicole tilts her head in confusion.

"I did not! I said no and you know damn well I did!"

I blink innocently and scrunch my face up at her and turn to look at Nicole with mere confusion. "She said I could go, I don't know why she is saying no now."

"Oh," Kaydence growls and takes several strides towards me till she's standing right in front of me and her still wet hair leaves wet droplets on my black jeans. "I could kill you!"

"I didn't do anything!" I yell back at her and bolt up from my seat till I'm towering over her. She doesn't back away though like I thought she would and instead keeps her stance.

"Bullshit! Stop playing games Harry!"

"What is going on!?" I hear Nicole shout but ignore her as I take a step closer to Kay who still has not backed away.

"I'm not playing games! I just want to go to Colorado! You said I could!"

Kaydence does this little jump in her place where she's standing and balls her fists up as she bounces on her toes. "That is it! I can't take any more of this Nicole! I'm going to kill him and don't you dare try to stop me!"

"With what? Your munchkin hands?" This only pisses her off more and she lunges at me, punching my chest while I try to dodge her hits. She's yelling at me while I'm yelling back and even in the midst of the anger and heat, I can't help but feel the little happiness that builds in my chest at being this close to her again. Even if it's just because of a fight.

"Enough!" Nicole screams, moving to stand in between us and holding us both back with her palms pressed to our chests. I'm breathing hard and Kaydence is fuming, I can practically see the fire coming out of her ears.

"It's only been a day and you both have fought too many times to count! You're both my closest friends and I'm sick of seeing you guys fight! No more!" She turns to Kaydence. "He's going to Colorado with us and don't even try to argue me on it." Kay's mouth falls open and she's about to say something when Nicole pinches her arm to shut her up, and a small smile begins to tug at my lips when Nicole spins to look at me. "And you! Don't look so smug and happy that I'm letting you come. The only reason you're coming is so you can shut the hell up." She looks between Kaydence and I. "You two are going to learn how to get along, on this trip there will be no fighting. If there is, I'm dumping you both on the side of the road that way you'll be forced to communicate. Got it?"

I stare at Nicole in shock, wondering where the hell my best friend went. This wasn't the girl I remembered but then again I wasn't the guy she remembered either. I slide my gaze over to Kay, noticing how she's staring wide eyed at Nicole the same way I was before she looks back at me. She stares at me longer then necessary as she presses her lips together, then lets out a puff of breath before nodding her head in approval.

"Harry?" Nicole raises her eyebrow at me but I do notice the way her lips twitch up into a smile. She knows. She knows why I really want to go. I don't even know why I really want to go, but somehow I know Nicole is doing this for me.

"Yeah. Alright, fine." I sigh and Nicole finally drops her hands to her sides, glancing between Kaydence and I as if we are going to go at it again. She smiles to herself in satisfaction as she turns to pick her keys back up, and slinging her purse higher on her shoulder.

"Good. Now let's go." She starts to walk towards the front door and Kaydence reluctantly follows, but stops when Nicole glances over her shoulder at me.

"Harry, let's go."

"Where am I going?" I ask hesitantly and Nicole rolls her eyes.

"Shopping with us. If you're going on the trip you'll need warm clothes too."

Kaydence groans and throws her head back dramatically. "He's coming shopping with us too?"

Nicole slides her eyes to stare hard at Kaydence and wags her finger at her. "Be nice. Or else I'll put you in timeout and force you in the back seat with him." She stops, then smiles widely. "Actually, I think that's a perfect idea. You're sitting backseat with him."

"Nicole," Kaydence says through clenched teeth. "There is a perfectly unused passenger seat. I'm sitting there."

Nicole fakes hurt, bringing her black painted nails to her chest. "I'm offended that you dismiss my Michael Kors bag as if it's nothing. You're definitely on timeout. Back seat with him." She jabs her finger towards me then smiles and beckons me over her shoulder. "Harold, let's go."

I laugh and stick my tongue out at Kaydence as I pass her, who grunts and growls in return. I love Nicole.
