5: A Horror Story

I looked both sides before stepping out completely. The coast was clear. It seemed to be a long hallway, and I felt a chill ran down my spine. The lights overhead flickered constantly. The air was still, and there was a certain ambience that made me all nervous as if someone will jump on me.

Is this a fucking horror movie? I thought to myself and I almost laughed at how ridiculous I sounded.

I walked down the hall, trying my best to look for a way out but there was not a single door in sight. I felt a cold breeze caressed my arm and I shivered either because of nervousness or fear.

I would go with the second one since as far as I was concerned, there was no open space that the air could possibly enter. What was worse was the next moment, I heard footsteps that definitely did not belong to me.

So I ran.

And the person following me run, too.

I did not dare look back. That what always happened in the movies. Someone would run after them, and they would look back to check it out and then get killed. Dying is definitely not on my schedule today.

The lights blurred and I could feel my chest constricted with the lack of oxygen. I was never an athletic person. Running was not my forte. Also, asthma and cardio-activities never mix together.

The footsteps got louder and I was sure he was close to me. The adrenaline pumped through my veins making the illusion that I was running faster than before. I could feel the pain at the sole of my feet and I let out a breath when I saw a door at the end of the hallway.

I almost got hold of the knob when I was pulled back roughly. Before I could scream, a hand covered my mouth and my eyes went wide when I saw a familiar brown haired boy.

It was Louis Tomlinson.

"What the hell is wrong with you!" I yelled and he looked at me curiously.

"What do you mean?" he asked as he opened the door that led to the parking lot. He looked at both sides before walking out and I silently followed him.

I really hate this guy.

I moved in front of him and looked for my car. "Why the fuck did you follow me? You fucking scared me out of my wits!" I hissed and put more distance between us.

I knew I was overreacting but I have been a scaredy cat ever since I woke up alone in the hospital two years ago. I know, cliché. But there was something nerve-wracking about it yet I still could not pinpoint it. I just woke up with bandages all over me. I was panting hard as if someone was following me. It rings a bell, doesn't it?

I spotted my Wrangler and was about to call Charlie when Tomlinson said, "We saw someone followed you so I went out."

And I froze.

It had been a few minutes when we saw Charlie walking towards the car. I looked at Tomlinson from the passenger seat.

"Okay, so, she's a really huge fan of you. Don't freak out if she fangirls, entiendes?" I said as I waved to Charlie.

Tomlinson chuckled and nodded. Honestly, I felt uncomfortable having people close to me especially someone I hate. But I knew I have to endure this if I want to not see them anymore.

Charlie jogged to us, her face scrunched up in confusion as she took note of the guy beside me. She peeked from my window and her mouth hang open when Tomlinson waved at him.

"No freaking way," she mumbled as she leaned closer. Her body pressed me against my seat and I squirmed.

"Move, damn it!" I exclaimed as I pushed her out. She pulled her body out of my window and was about to scream when I smacked her face. "Don't fucking scream."

"Sorry!" she squeaked and went in the back, dumping her bags while at it. She was squirming on her seat, and Tomlinson and I glanced at her from the rearview. I knew she wanted to release all the joy and excitement that were visible on her face.

Tomlinson coughed and I pulled over and drove towards the back door. "Okay, I need you two to stay here. I'll get the boys. And Tomlinson, fucking hide. Charlie, don't do anything stupid."

I ran to the store and just like I told them, I knocked thrice. Horan opened the door and they all filed out. I could see the storefront and noticed that the people, paparazzi included, pointed to where we were and left. I ushered the boys to follow me and when the burly bodyguard shut the door, we heard footsteps and voices.

"Shit, they're here!" Malik said and we sprinted. Flashes of lights lit the dim hallway and we ignored the various calls from the fans.

Once again, I swung open the door and jumped straight to the drivers. The guys hopped in the back with Charlie, and I revved back and floored the gas. We were cruising away from the mall seconds later.

Sighs of relief echoed in the car. Charlie was now all red in the face and it was only a few minutes before she completely lost it.

She screamed as loud as she could and I almost crashed on the light pole at the side of the street. I swerved away and shouted, "What the fuck!"

Charlie smiled sheepishly while the guys have terrible looks painted on their faces. "I'm sorry! But I just couldn't believe this! 1D is really here! Oh my gosh!"

"So, I'm assuming you're a fan?" Payne asked Charlie and the girl enthusiastically nodded like a dog.

Horan and Styles, being the ones beside her, hugged my cousin and she had a look of pure bliss. Payne and Malik joined the hug fest and I rolled my eyes. They engaged in a conversation after that.

I was not paying that much of attention so all I have heard were terms like midnight memories, OTRA, and four. I still did not know where to go so I turned to Tomlinson who was laughing the whole time.

"Where do I drop you?" I asked.

"The Harrison Hotel." He paused and looked at me. "Thank you for the help."

I waved my hand in reply and I wished he took that as a note that I did not want to converse with him anymore. Sadly, he was slow with social cues.

"How can we repay you? Do you want us to pay for your gas? I can also give you money. Or do you want tickets for-"

I cut him off there. Sparing him a glare, I spoke in a serious voice. "I don't need your money and I definitely don't need a ticket to your concert either. What I want is for you all to stop bothering me."

The car went silent due to my hostility. I drove quietly without giving more shit to them. I heard them murmuring to each other and I decided to ignore the little shits and parked in front of the hotel entrance.

"We're here," I said. None of them made a move to get out of the car so I exasperatedly commented, "Do you want me to carry you out of my car, too?"

"Is that alright? If so, I'm in!" Horan replied excitedly and Payne had to nudge him to shut his mouth.

Malik was the first to open his door and went out. He muttered a simple thanks and the rest in the back seat followed him. Tomlinson was the only one who remained in the car.

"Out. Now," I commanded and he shrugged.

"I'm going but you have to answer my question first," he replied.

I stared at him directly into his blue eyes and waited for the million dollar question. He peered back at me and unconsciously pouted.

"Why do you not like us?"

A sardonic laugh escaped my lips. I pushed his shoulder gently yet continuously until he went out of my car. I motioned for Charlie to hop back on and before driving away, I told him, "That's for me to know and for you to find out."

I dragged myself inside the house and flopped on the couch. Mother curiously looked at me and I just let out a tiny squeal. Without another word, she went out of the living room and I heard Charlie sat down beside me.

"God. This day is both exhausting and unbelievable," she said and laid her body on top of me.

I just hummed in response but she pulled me to face her. She held up two tickets and I raised an eyebrow.

I read the details in the small piece of paper and felt the blood left my whole body.

This was seriously a fucking horror story.
