Concept Teaser/Prologue: First Encounter
In a world known as Teyvalt, there are many kinds of monsters and creatures that roam the land. And in the past, even gods were common. Most people were used to seeing these mythical beings. However, as time passed, they slowly began to disappear, becoming nothing but stories. Some are considered legendary. Now, new monsters roam the land and sea... With abilities that defy the laws of the world...
No one's POV
In the massive ocean of Teyvat, there was an extremely violent storm going on, one that was not normal. Waves taller than some of the largest of boats and ships were seen as far as the eye could see. Dark clouds filled the sky as deadly lightning struck everywhere and rain poured. The wind blew so strong that it could blow away any unprepared beings if they had nothing to hold onto.
In the ocean, a boat was sailing through the terrible waves, constantly swaying to the point that it might tip over. This ship is known to many the Ajax.
A crew was doing their best to keep the ship from falling apart or tilting over. Some of the crew on it tried to hold onto loose ropes connected to the sails so they wouldn't blow away. Others held onto anything that was built into the ship so they wouldn't slip and fall off from the only thing keeping them off the water. They all either looked determined or worried as they continued to sail deeper into the storm and through the waves. Many of them were yelling at each other to make sure that they were good.
"I-is everyone good?!" One yells as he and three others were pulling back a large rope that was connected to the mainsail.
"Aye!" "I'm fine!" "All good!" Others shouted in reply.
As they did their best to keep things from falling apart, the rain kept making them slip against the wood. But luckily, none had fallen yet.
At the front of the ship, a woman was standing on top of the dragon's head. She was looking towards the sea ahead of them while having her arms folded. She doesn't seem fazed by the terrible storm, much to anyone's surprise. Then again, many wouldn't doubt it as she was a special person.
She is a tall woman whose beauty strikes one senseless, like a flash of roaring thunder. She looks to be in her late twenties. She has long, waist-length dark brown hair that flows like the waves of the sea. The top of her hair is tied up with an intricate gold hairpin with a pale blue tassel hanging from one end. Her fringe parts around her right eye, slightly covering her left. Her right eye is a deep ruby-colored hue melting into gold, reminiscent of brilliant dawn. The radiance in her gaze could challenge that of the sun. Her left eye is covered by a red eyepatch. From her left ear dangles an earring resembling two hollow diamonds stacked upon each other, the color of which matches with her hairpin. Her outfit is described to be lightweight clothing saturated with a brave seafarer's spirit.
She dons a black leotard underneath a bright red sleeveless qipao dress, with side slits going up to her hips and the chest area cut out. In stark contrast to the rest of her primarily red ensemble, a vivid purple Electro is chained below her left breast, from which hangs a golden tassel. She also wears an imposing fur-lined red shawl around her shoulders. The back of her qipao dress splits into two, with gold cloud patterns embroidered at the end, accentuated by black bordering. Additionally, she wears a pair of fingerless, elbow-length black gloves. Her boots reach up to her thighs and boast high heels strong enough to kick a claymore into the air with. Many golden anchor motifs can be found scattered around her outfits, such as on her boots, her gloves, and the front of her qipao dress.
A person runs over to the head and looks up at her. This person was a young man with choppy, medium-length hair, some of it tied in an off-centered ponytail to his right. It is a platinum blonde color, apart from a single orange-red streak on his right. He has red eyes with a yellow hue at the bottom, and he usually has a gentle facial expression.
His outfit is described to have maple leaf patterns that are the hallmark of his wandering samurai attire. It consists of a grey short-sleeved kimono and a black haori coat. Half the coat is worn normally on his left arm, with a flowy orange sleeve decorated with orange and red maple leaves, while the other half is draped behind his waist and secured by an obi belt he wears over top. He wears a black and red scarf with gold accents, and a slanted belt that goes under his right arm and over his left shoulder, where his Anemo vision is pinned behind. The vision is tied to a red tassel decoration and is near some samurai shoulder plating. He wears red hakama pants with maple leaf designs and black sandals with dark red tights with a black piece of leather on both legs that covers from under his kneecaps to near his feet. He wears black glove plates that protect the backs of his hands and his left forearm, but his right hand is instead bandaged.
"Do you really think a monster could cause all of this, Beidou?" They shout calmly over the thunder in the distance.
The woman, Beidou, looks over her shoulder at the young man. "If this was a natural disturbance, then Ningguang wouldn't have told me about this."
"I see. So then, do you have any idea what it could be?"
She shook her head. "Not really. I have my theories, but I can't be certain until I see it myself."
"..." The male nods slowly. "Have you seen anything yet?"
"Nothing yet. If I do, I'll-."

She was interrupted when the two heard something odd ahead. It sounded like a low, deep roar. They both look towards the source and saw a beam of water shooting out from under the sea and into the air. After, a blue glow was seen from where the beam came from for a brief moment. After, there was another roar loud enough for everyone to hear over all the thunder and waves splashing, sounding like it was underneath them. The crew looks around in confusion as they try to find where exactly it came from.
"What the...?" The male looks at the scene with a soft confused look.
"..." Beidou doesn't say anything. She just watches the odd scene in silence.
As the ship continues to sail towards the anomaly, another beam of water burst out, this time moving as if being directed by something. The blue glow was seen as the beam rose, before lightning coats the surface of the water for a second and sparks everywhere.
"I think we found our target," Beidou mutters as she unfolds her arms and cracks her knuckles with a small smirk.
"..." The male notices her sudden energy with a calm look. However, he turns towards the commotion yet again as he heard splashing.
They couldn't tell what was going on, but something was splashing within the water. It looks like a long tail, but they don't recognize what it would have belonged to. The splashes were growing more violently before more electricity formed at the surface before letting out a larger blast than before. Everyone on board the ship heard another roar, though it didn't sound like anything close to the one they heard earlier. And this time, it sounded a lot closer and the ship vibrated a little from it as well. And from the commotion, Beidou saw a large silhouette beginning to rise from under the water as the tail swam back down.
As the roar ended, one of the crewmen ran over to the duo looking anxious. "C-captain Beidou! Some of the crew are starting to grow tired! The ship might not be able to take much more of this storm! Should we fall back or continue going forward?!" They shout over thunder.
Beidou turns to the crewman and stares at him for a second. She then looks over to the rest and saw how they were all struggling to keep things under control. She doesn't say anything for a moment, thinking deeply.
"What is your order?" The young male asks as he saw how deep in thought Beidou was.
"...Tell the others to get ready to sail back. The storm is far worse than anticipated. We'll try again once it clears." She states.
The crewman nods their head and was about to turn around to tell the others, but stops when the ship suddenly shook violently. Everyone stumbles a bit before some fell onto their rears. Before they could be swept away, the others quickly got them back on their feet.
"W-what hit us?!" One of the crewmen shouted in confusion. The rest didn't have an answer before quickly going back to what they were doing before. And as they did, the ship stops.
Below the ship, something massive swam quickly. It descends into the water for a second before rising in front of the ship. Just as everyone was calming down, a large splash was heard. Suddenly, something breaches through the surface of the ocean. It sent water flying into the air and on the ship as it roars into the sky, causing everyone to spin towards the source. They all saw a long, massive silhouette towering over them all, even Beidou who was standing on the dragon's head. The thing lets out a low hiss, startling the crewman a little.
Beidou smirks a little as she saw the creature was towering over her. "So, you're what all the fuss is about, huh?" She asks as if trying to start a conversation with the creature.
The creature stops roaring and looks down at her with glaring red eyes. The creature was massive and long, looking menacing to those who don't see monsters often. Its head was flat and long, almost resembling a crocodile. Its bottom was yellow and the back was a striking deep blue color and its spikes on its back were a very light beige. Its upper long arms floated over the water, revealing its webbed hands and long and dangerous claws.
For a brief moment, the two seemed to be having a stare-down. Neither blinked or looked away, staring deeply into the other's eye(s). As they did, the crew behind her slowly began to notice the creature in front of the ship after taking care of the ship. They all were stunned and stared in awe of the creature.
"Incredible..." One of the crewmen mutters.
"I-is that what's causing the storm...?"
"Is it...a-a leviathan...?"
"..." The others don't reply, all too distracted by the beast.
After what felt like an eternity, though was only a few seconds, the creature's eyes suddenly widen, as if frightened by something. It lets out an ear-deafening roar that causes everyone except for Beidou to cover their ears, who smirks more. After, it slowly opens its jaw as electricity started to form in its mouth and its back between its spikes like a conductor. The electricity starts to spiral into a sphere as lightning struck behind it and thunder booms in the darkened sky.
Seeing this, Beidou summons her claymore in her hand.
She twirls the handle of her blade in her hand before placing the tip on the wood of the ship. "Come on! Let's see what you truly got!" She yells excitingly.
After a few seconds, the monster's spiral in its mouth grew larger. It reels its head back as if to attack. While it did, Beidou leaps towards its face as she lifts her claymore over her head. She lets out a battle cry as soon as she was within collusion distance. She swings her blade down as electricity forms around her blade. The creature saw all of this and lungs its head forward to attack. But just before either could make contact, everything fades to black.
To be continued...?
Tell me what you all think so far. Sorry if some parts feel rushed. I just wanted to do my best but don't have all day. I may remake this depending on everyone's reactions, but not sure yet.
