Chapter 2

Ryic

As Eric and I went in search of our little sister, I was still mad of him of teasing her.

Eric said, "Skyla, where are you?"

I said to my brother, "This wouldn't happened if you wouldn't tease her about her Totem like that, Eric.

She's still a girl and she just received her totem from the Spirits of Valhalla."

Eric sighs, "It's just that she would make her own choices sooner or later, Ryic. She has to learn that things are aren't as they appear to be, I'm just giving her a lesson."

Suddenly, we heard a scream coming from the edge of the side forest.

We saw Skyla fall into a Cliffside and seemed to be in major trouble!

"Skyla!" We cried, as we reached her.

She was panicking as I said, "Skyla, grab my hand!"

She said, "No, Ryic, you guys shouldn't be here! You have to get out of here!"

I was confused of what she meant.

"The Night fury, behind you!" She said.

The brown Night Fury growls at me as I was terror of its massive stance of attacking.

"Come on, dragon, this way! Leave my siblings alone!" Eric said, throwing rocks at the dragon.

The Dragon roars as it were outraged and angry, and caused Eric to fall between the edges of a Glacier!

"Oh, no! Eric, hang on!" Skyla said, racing towards our brother and held him closer to her.

I was fighting the dragon alone, and I was hurt badly, but the Dragon was powerful.

The Night fury had enough of me as I knew that it was going to blast my siblings to pieces.

I knew what to do, and... it would be the last time I will ever see my family again.

I used my spear to make a hole through the crack of the Glacier to make a path around the dragon to protect Skyla and Eric from harm.

Skyla managed to pull Eric out of the Glacier.

"No." Skyla said.

Skyla

As I pulled Eric out of the Glacier, I noticed that Ryic was at the other side of the Glacier, and he has put a crack through the Glacier and the Dragon.

"No. Ryic, don't do it!" I cried out to my oldest brother as the crack begins to open.

The dragon saw it was indeed a trap, running as fast it could, but with the ice between , it was caught in, dragging Ryic along towards the icy water below us.

Eric and I panted with worry, looking at the water, hoping that Ryic survived the deep icy fall.

Why would he do such an crazy idea like that?

The Dragon pops out of the water and runs back to the forest.

I couldn't wait any longer.

"Eric, come on!" I said to him, gesturing to follow me to find our brother.

"Ryic!" I yelled.

"Ryic!" Eric yells. I noticed his spear, broken.

'No, this can't be happening. Not now.'  I thought.

"Ryic, if you can hear me, tell us where you are!" I yelled as Eric continue looking through the icy water.

That is when Eric notices something.

"Sis, over there!" He cries.

I turned around and notices it was an familiar clothing.

I rush towards it and it was Ryic's hood and totem.

I couldn't believe it. It can't be true.

"No, it can't be." I mutter as I threw the hood aside.

"Ryic!" I yelled.

Eric picks up the hood and hung his head in realizing that our brother is no longer with us anymore.

We went back to the village and Gothi told us that we will have a special offering to pay for Spirits tonight.

Eric

It was our goodbye Ceremony to Ryic as he would join the Great Spirits of Valhalla.

The whole village send out their condolences to us as Gothi wrapped Ryic's hood, Spear and Eagle to be burned to the altar.

We watched as the Spirits took our brother with open arms.

It was hard to know that Skyla and I will have to be there for each other now.

I hung my head as Skyla left the Ceremony.

Skyla

That Dragon took my brother away from me, and I am going to get my revenge on it.

I grabbed the Spear and supplies I needed to track the Dragon down.

As the Ceremony ended, Gothi and Eric stayed behind.

I knew that my brother needed me, but I want to kill that Dragon together.

"You all set to go, Eric?" I asked.

The Viking turns around in confusion, "What you mean?"

"We're going after that Dragon, what you think I was referring to?" I ask, tossing him his own spear.

"Skyla, I know it's hard of loosing Ryic, but... killing the dragon is wrong!" He said.

I was shocked.

"Wrong?!? RYIC is DEAD AND IT WAS BECAUSE OF THAT MONSTER!"

Eric said, "I don't blame the Dragon, Skyla."

I knew that he wouldn't say it in person, but it was said straight forward that he actually blamed me for Ryic's death.

I said, "Oh... I see."

"Killing it wouldn't make you a Viking and accept your Destiny that way."

"Now you're trying to be wise." I said, irate.

"Look, I am trying act like the oldest sibling here and I'm following my Totem. Why you can't do the same thing, Skyla?"

"You honestly think that love is to do with being a human? I thought that Vikings stand for what they believe in."

As I go ahead of him, Eric said, "Skyla, don't upset the Spirits."

I rolled my eyes, "Gee, thanks for the advice."

Gothi looks at me with pleading eyes. I tore the Totem from my neck and toss it away.

Gothi

I picked up the totem from where Skyla tossed from, dusting the ashes off.

Eric knew that his sister is making a huge mistake.

"I have to stop her, before things go worse than already has." He said as he nods to me, grabbing his spear to go after his sibling in order to stop her.

I sighed as I watched Eric persuades after her.

I turned to the night skies and said,

"Ryic, you left your family too soon. It seems that both of your siblings needed guidance from you more than ever before."

The Spirits heard my plea as they dimmer into view.

I hope that Ryic has a plan for Skyla to embrace her decision.
