October

Nobody's POV

It was an unusually warm evening in October and currently Amu and her friend and roommate, Asha, were headed to a halloween party. The party was one of the biggest ones of the year and it was hosted by Amu's boyfriend, Ikuto. The party was being held at Ikuto's humongous house that everyone, except Ikuto, calls a mansion. It was about maybe ten or fifteen blocks away from where the two live and sure it was a ways a way but being the broke college students they are, Amu and Asha don't own a car and being how warm it was, they decided to walk. Of course, since it's halloween, the party was a costume party, but this costume party was dedicated to disney so everyone had to have a costume related to a disney character.

Asha was dressed as Tiana from Princess and The Frog. Her light brown waist length wavy hair was straightened and piled high atop her head in a tight bun. She wore a beautiful green and yellow dress dress that puffed out and fell to the floor. The dress had multiple layers to it. The bottom layer was a light yellowish-greenish color, but had more of a greenish tint to it. Atop of that was another layer of yellowish-greenish fabric but this one was lighter and it had more of a yellowish tint to it. The bottom of this layer was shaped like petals and was curled at the end so they touched the floor but didn't drag on it. On top of that were three layers of light green fabric each shaped like petals that were curved at the end.

Each petal was going in a different direction than the last so each petal was visible. These petals were on both sides of the dress so in total there were six petals. Where the six petals came together a beautiful yellow lotus flower lay with green leaves coming out from it and going down the dress part way.

A vine continued down the dress as the leaves stop but the vine stops a quarter of the way into the yellowish-greenish layer. The top of the dress covering her chest had yellowish-greenish petals sticking put in the middle and light green petals atop of that going out to the side but curving back in at the top. On her hands she had gloves that went just above her elbows. On her neck was a beautiful green pearl necklace that had a green gemstone at the end. Her ears had small green circular earrings in them, that sparkled when the light hit them at the right angles.

Her lips were painted with red lip stick and glossy coat of lip gloss made it very shiny. She had light mascara on that made her chocolate eyes pop. Last but not least, a light green leaf-like crown sat up top her head completing her princess look.

Amu was dressed as Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Her hair had grown out so it was about mid way down her back and she her bangs pinned back so it had a swooping motion in the front. The rest of her hair loosely fell down her back. Her once bubblegum pink hair was now dyed a bright scarlet red color to match the character's.

She had on purple sea shell earrings and a light shade of red lipstick with a layer of gloss over it to make her lips shiny. She had slight blush on and a thin layer of mascara. Just like Asha's, Amu's dress had layers to it as well.

At the top, right above the chest, matching her earrings, a purple sea shell lay. The sleeves on the dressed puffed out on the upper arm but was tight from here elbow down to her wrist. The sleeves were a purplish-pinkish color with more of a purplish tint to them. The middle of the dress where the sleeves ended and the bottom layer of the dress was a bubblegum pick color.

From her waist down a layer of almost translucent fabric with a purplish tint flowed over the bubblegum pink under fabric. Underneath the pink was a layer of purplish-pinkish fabric that only showed at certain times when she moved. Scattered around the dress was sparkles and little gem stones and going down the edges of the translucent piece of were swirly kind of wave designs.

Asha sighed happily as she looked at all the differently decorated house down the block.

"I love halloween." Amu stated turning around to look at Asha.

"Really? I don't see what there is to love about it. I mean you're surrounded by gross little children that are dressed as god knows what. And then you must love the snot dripping down their noses and on to their pretty little costumes. Oh! And you can't forget their wondrous attitudes of glee as they stuff their sticky hands in buckets of candy set out by those who do not wish to lay eyes on them. So tell me again, what is it that you love about halloween?"

Amu laughed.

"Oh Asha, your view on halloween is quite entertaining, but I don't just like the gross little children you were so in depth about. No. I like the fact that it's the one day of the year that you can be someone you're not. I think that everyone has hoped to be someone they're not at once in their life."

Asha scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"Not me. I love myself and I always will. Nothing will make me want to be someone else. Nothing."

"If you say so."

The two laughed as they made their way down the street and across from Ikuto's house.

Stopping, Amu scanned the house, her jaw set.

Realizing that her companion had stopped, Asha stopped as well and turned to face her.

"What?"

Amu sighed and shook her head.

"Nothing."

"It's not nothing, other wise you wouldn't have that look on your face."

"I don't have a look on my face."

"Yes you do. You have that look that screams 'I don't want to do this', and in this case it seems to be going into your boyfriends house."

Amu looked away.

"Well, I low-key don't."

Asha's eyes narrowed and she scrunched her brows together.

"Why?"

Amu put a hand through her hair.

"Ikuto has money, everybody knows that. I mean look at his house it's huge, practically a mansion and that's nice and all, but every time I come here I'm reminded just who much money he has compared to mine. I know that I say I don't care what people think but the truth is I do. I try to act like I'm not affected but I am. Every whisper I'm scared it's about me, every sneer I'm nervous it's towards me, every look, every laugh, every point, it scares me. Everyday I walk into school my heart is beating a million beats per minute, my palms are sweaty, and my breathing is rapid. I may not look it, but I'm terrified. I don't want to be know as a gold digger. I'm not into Ikuto for his money, I'm into him for his personality. Sure, he has amazing looks and thats a huge bonus but his personality is amazing. He's gentle as a kitten even though h may not look it. He's super compassionate about violin and is working really hard towards his dream of becoming professional. He really funny and can always make me laugh. We may argue a lot, but I love the fact that almost all of our arguments are fun. As weird as it is, I love arguing with Ikuto, it almost always cheers me up. He always puts me before himself which is super sweet but it kinda pisses me off because some of the time he needs to put himself before me."

Amu sighed and closed her eyes, tears threatening to fall.

"I love him," she said softly, sniffing.

"Oh Strawberry. I didn't know you felt that way." A soft voice said from behind Amu.

Eye's flying open, Amu whirled around and came face to face with Ikuto.

"I-Ikuto." She said her voice breaking and her tears finally falling.

Ikuto smiled softly and gently pulled her to his chest, stroking her hair.

Amu leaned against Ikuto and inhaled his boyish scent. His scent had always calmed her and it's affect was working as her tears began to dry.

"Baby girl listen, do you hear my heart beating?"

Amu sniffed and nodded.

"Good, because it only beats for you. I don't care what people think about you and unless you say it yourself, I will never see you as a gold digger. People can whisper and point and stare all they want but it won't change the fact I want to be with you. The amount of money you have means nothing to me. I don't care if you have less money than me, I wouldn't care if you had more money than me, hell I wouldn't care of you were broke, money won't change the feelings that I have for you. I'm not going to tell you to stop caring what others think because that's a hard thing to do, but I am going to tell you I'll always be on your side no matter who the opponent is."

By this time, the tears had begun flowing again and Ikuto's shirt had become wet. Kissing the top of Amu's head, Ikuto continued to hold her and whisper sweet words in her ear. Once she had calmed down, Ikuto gently pulled back.

"You ok?" He asked, his dark blue eyes laced with love and compassion.

Amu nodded as she wiped her tears.

"Sorry about your shirt, I got it all wet."

"It's cool. Thanks to you I get to show off my wondrous abs."

Realizing what he said was true, Amu blushed and lightly hit his shoulder.

"Shut-up."

Ikuto chuckled and pulled her to his chest once again.

"I love you so much." Ikuto said giving Amu a loving squeeze.

Amu smiled and sighed contently.

"I love you too."

"Oi, now that you two love birds have solved your problems, come inside and get some punch." Asha called from Ikuto's porch.

"Coming!" Amu called, stepping away from Ikuto.

"Oh! I've been meaning to ask, when exactly did you get behind me and when exactly did Asha leave?"

Ikuto shrugged, his usual smirk present on his lips.

"Who knows. "
