power hungry kaia
Kaia trekked through the woods, desperately trying to devise a plan of action. The Dead-Eye in her was driving her near mad. She NEEDED those powers back, else she would be lost to insanity by the ever incessant nagging of the voice in her head, begging for control. Pleading for power. She must have it. Or else.
“I’ll go to that stupid cave and settle this once and for all,” she decided, changing her course.
In the cave, Cole sat in Dead-Eye’s throne, Celine perched on the arm, both of them waiting patiently. The skull floated close by, always watching.
Kaia staggered into the cave, exhausted from the hike. She was weak from the fight in Shintaro, and her powers had not restored themselves.
“You!” She pointed at Cole, “have something I want!”
“Is that so?” He inquired.
Before Kaia could make another move, the skull breathed out a cloud of smoke, covering the whole room in darkness save for the skull, which glowed green ominously.
Kaia coughed against the smoke as she stumbled towards the light of the skull.
Celine slipped from the throne and snuck up behind Kaia, running her hand across Kaia’s shoulders, taunting the girl. Kaia whipped around towards where Celine had been, but she was gone. Celine laughed, and it echoed through the cave.
Kaia’s breathing became heavy, not only from the smog, but from the fear welling inside her. She couldn’t see her hand in front of her face, let alone the pair she had come to destroy.
“Where are you!?” She demanded.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” Celine baited as she circled Kaia.
In an instant, Kaia was knocked to the floor as her feet were swept out from under her. As she struggled on the floor, even she could sense the heavy steps as Cole descended from his throne.
The smoke thinned as he approached her, looming over her, “You really think you can take on both of us? You were a fool to come here alone.”
Meanwhile, Celine had slipped up behind Kaia and bound her hands and feet, crippling her where she was.
Kaia tried to stand, but tripped against the restraints.
“You may be of some use to us,” Celine spoke as she appeared next to Cole, “so we shall spare you for now.”
“W-what are you going to do?” Kaia cried.
“Only imprison you,” Cole explained. “We aren’t animals.”
Two resurrected skeletons marched into the room and yanked Kaia to her feet, proding her deeper into the cave towards a holding cell.
“Where did they come from?” Celine asked, turning to Cole.
“I thought a few extra hands wouldn’t hurt,” Cole shrugged. “Some to guard the entrance, some to watch her. Leaves more time for plotting.”
“I like it,” Celine smirked.
