COLD AS STONE, GRACEFUL AS A DOLPHIN

The room was quiet, the different heads of royalty sat in silence. "Ugh, not even his mother is here. Let alone IRVING!" A male Teifling said as his tail flicked behind him violently. "Have patience Cado." A male lizardfolk said next to him. As the two talked, the door opened to reveal a deep skinned elven male with silver hair and purple eyes. "Seems I'm early?" He said as he took the last seat, next to the head of the table which was still to be occupied. "Didn't think you'd come to this as well, Yarmon. Thought you decided to not make another arrangement for Aza-" The lizardfolk elbowed the Tiefling harshly. "Have respect, imbecile." He whispered as he then glanced at one of the other heads of families. A human male who was staring at the table with a bored expression next to the elder elf. "Once again, Yarmon." The human looked over at Yarmon. "I apologize for the arrangement being a failure. I thought the two of them would get along well. But I guess Azada's heart belongs to someone else. Tell her that I wish her well." Yarmon's serious expression softened for a bit as he smiled and nodded at the King. Cado smirked, "You know, I have a bit of history with the princess, we've had interesting conversations in the past, I can take care of her-"

The door opened, causing the family heads to stand up. Those facing the door looked at who entered, The Tiefling male smirking as a porcelain skinned lady with blonde hair walked in, trident in hand, her hair covering her eyes. The male then flinched as a younger person walked in. A bisque skinned male with short wavy blonde hair, silver eyes with aquamarine star shaped pupils; his face completely devoid of emotions, however the tiefling can sense a dark aura from the male as it was directed to him, watching the blonde's tight grip on a trident of his own.

'He can throw that thing at any moment, and I'd be dead!'

Lastly a man with pale blue skin, aquamarine eyes and black hair walked in, yawning as he walked to the chair at the head of the table, standing next to it as the lady sat on the right armchair, later smiling as the expressionless individual sat in the chair. He then looked over at Yarmon who glanced at him, the blonde nodding at him in respect. Yarmon smirked before sitting down, triggering the others to sit as well. "Thank you all for coming for this meeting, we apologize for the wait, someone was nowhere to be found." The lady said as she turned her head to the blue man. "You don't need to apologize Lady Mave, we are within your home after all, it is more understandable if you are late." The tiefling said with a smile. Mave smiled before turning to glance at the blonde sitting down, who seemed to be in another world. "Before we get to the meeting. A maid should be coming in later to give you all.." Mave paused as she placed a hand on the blonde's head. "An invitation!! Zorcyr's birthday is in a few days!! I would like it if you can have the time to celebrate his 21st!" Mave giggled as she gave her son a side hug, the prince slowly glancing at his mother before placing his hand on her arm, leaning his head onto hers before sitting how he was earlier. "21 and still not a single arrangement for a w-"

"I do not need an arrangement for a wife." Zorcyr finally spoke as he looked straight ahead at the table. "I assume you found your lover then." The tiefling said. "Unlike you Cado, I don't need a wife..or wives for your matter to be called a king. I have what I need." Zorcyr said, causing Yarmon to smirk and chuckle. "Power and skill?" Yarmon stated, Zorcyr looked at him. "Someone in this room gets it." Zorcyr stated, the blue man glanced at the prince. "I can understand your mother, but why is it you wouldn't look at me in the eye, your own uncle who tries to look out for you, but you look at Yarmon and Leon in the eyes?"

"Because I have higher respect for them, it's the same for my mother. My mother before you...Irving."

"That concludes this meeting for now. Any further information will be sent to you. Thank you all!" Mave cheered, Zorcyr standing from his chair as he began walking out the room, placing a hand on Yarmon and Leon's shoulders as he passed them. Irving sighed before sitting in the chair in exhaustion. "You need to stop pushing the idea of Zorcyr needing a wife for him."

Zorcyr walked the halls of the palace, staring at the floor, not sharing a glance of acknowledgement to anyone he walked past. "Zorcyr!! Wait up!!" The prince continued to walk but at a slower pace as the sound of bubbles filled his ears. A girl with pale green and somewhat scaly skin, cyan eyes and dark green hair smiled at him as she floated in the air surrounded by bubbles that helped hold her up. "How was your meeting? Anything interesting?" The girl asked as she floated in front of the prince who continued to look at the ground as he walked. "Usual thing Nireta. Aren't you supposed to be training right now?"

"Yeaaaa...but I wanna spend time with my best friend!!" Nireta said as she clasped her hands to her heart as she gave him an eye-closed smile, later squeaking as she turned around to see Zorcyr had already started walking off again. "I'm busy today-"

"You're always busy! What happened to spending time like when we were kids!?" Nireta shouted, later frowning as she realized what she had done. "Zorcyr-"

"Nireta, bare in mind. My father left the throne for me when he died. Ever since I was 10 I had to deal with the responsibilities, even with my mother's help from 10 to 20; I still have a lot on my plate, including the annoyance known as Irving who keeps bringing up the idea of a wife and it's getting annoying. Right now, I need to focus on my training and Linnetis." Zorcyr said as he continued walking, leaving behind a saddened water genasi.
