The crumbling old building that should have collapsed long ago held the weight of many, but only few with importance to the momentous day. Every step taken made the man leading the way feel like he'd fall through. The view of the abandon town made him wonder what had happened and if he too would disappear like the people that once resided there.
Every step up the old building made Jimin's heart pound faster than before. At the rooftop was blood family while his other family walked behind him. At the final floor before where it would all end he was faced with one person who looked what he felt.
Jihyun's pale face looked back to his brother's. His attempt at upholding a strong front failed for his eyes made the fear he felt clear to all those that looked up, especially his sibling.
"We may have not come into this together, but can finish it together." Jimin said, his hand ready for his brother to take, and take he did. Hand in hand the brothers walked the finals step to reach the throne.
The wind blew strands of hair into their vision, but not enough to avoid seeing and recognizing familiar faces. Some were fresher than others, but nonetheless everyone was acknowledged. In the middle of the faces that were separated based on their loyalties to the sides they resided with was the throne. A father, a mother, and behind them six males, one being the eldest brother.
Jimin and Jihyun were left to stand in the middle of it all for from behind them friends turned family took their spots to their respective sides. Once placed where should have been, Jimin opened his mouth, but was silence by his father's upheld hand.
"My sons." The man smiled. "How you've grown. Finally, I see men in you both. "
The father of the two sons sat on a chair, the metaphorical throne to the empire he had built. Before him were his heirs, two young men that did not recognize the man before them. The father did not resemble himself in everything from the last image the sons had of him. He had become thinner, a scruffy beard on his face, and a dress sense that was elegant with a spike of terror to it. When he stood to properly greet his sons, the long black coat fell loosely at his sides, allowing a gun to make it's presence at his side.
Familiar arms wrapped around the two, yet the feeling received from them was not the same as it once was. Jimin could not feel the warmness of a parent come from someone who just that. As the hug prolonged itself, he stared straight in the eyes of his mother. The woman stood next to the chair, a satisfied smile on her face as she witness the reunion between her sons and their father.
"No hug for your father, Jimin?"
It was best to be civil for as long as possible Jimin reminded himself as he forced a smile. However, he did not return the gesture like Jihyun had. He had come for one thing and that only. He was not interested in kindling a father-son bond with the man that had taken his lover from him, and caused him so much chaos in his life.
"At least I raised one well." The father said. He flashed a loving smile towards his youngest and a glared towards the middle child before turning to look at his eldest.
He took a seat then pointed to the male behind him.
"Junhong, my eldest, why don't you join your brothers."
It was not question, but the man stayed put.
"Why not?"
Now it was a question.
"Because I wish to stay behind you father, to protect you."
A smile that should belong to the devil took over the man's face.
"Loyalty." He said. "You two must be foreign to such a concept."
Jihyun looked to his brother, but Jimin does not take his eyes off his father. He wasn't sure what to expect of the reunion, but this was definitely not it. His father was angry at them because of disloyalty.
"My youngest lays with a man from a side that is not his, and when he finally does he crawls backs and betrays his own!"
The rise in volume causes them all to flinch. Jihyun's fright falls through even more.
"And you!" He turns to Jimin. "You are no saint of the crime! You not only lay with danger itself, but you crawl deeper by sleeping with it!"
Confusion travels among those that watch. It did not last long for the father takes the gun from his side and holds it up to who he refers to. Daehyun's who was among the six men closes his eyes and waits.
"Why do you play with one of my bunnies like that?" He asks as the gun travels with the open hole along Daehyun's body. He readies the gun to shoot.
"No!"
"No, what?"
Jimin's widen eyes looked into those like his own. The shared features reminded him of the one thing the man kept repeating, he was his son. Just like his father, Jimin pulled the gun out from behind him. He held it up and prepared it to shoot as well.
"So that's how you want to play this?"
Guns held by the six behind him came up to point at Jimin, including Daehyun's. The friend pleaded for forgiveness through his eyes. A simple nod came his way to let him know that above it all, he was forgiven.
"I'm not here about Daehyun."
"And neither am I." The father pointed his gun away from the man and to his sons. "I'm here because of you two. The rivalry between you two is what has us here. I am disgusted! Disgusted by the actions of my sons--"
"I don't care!" Jihyun yells out. "Why do you!? You don't want us, you never did! You have your other son! What's the point of all this!?"
"You're right, I didn't want you. I never wanted to live the life you and your mother forced me into. Now I don't have to."
The gun now pointed at mother made all three sons jump from the scare. They stared at their mother who seemed accepting of the fact that it could be her last moments.
The father laughs. "Relax. If I wanted her dead, she already would be. What I want is to end this."
He points to his sides where Jihyun and Jimin each belong.
"I want my business to flourish, to expand to length is should have long ago. My absence and my incompetent bunnies have let two sides go on for too long. I am now here and things will be done right so choose."
Silence fell on them all. Jihyun looked to his friends and Jimin to his. Their gazes to opposite sides showed where the brothers had split ways in life. The friends that had become family to them stared back, mostly afraid. They carried their concern on their face, clear through their fearful and confused eyes. All except one.
Namjoon calm face brought Jimin a sense of tranquility. The small grin on the man's face reassured the young man that no matter the outcome, he had his family. The five surrounding him looked to him faithful. Their destiny laid in his hands and they trusted him with it.
"Where is he?"
The words were directed towards who sat on the throne.
"You didn't choose."
"I asked where is he!" Jimin shouted.
"Park Jimin!" He mother screamed back.
"Don't you dare." He threatened. "After today you're no one. You're not my mother."
Immediately his father reacted. He held the arm rest to lift himself up from the outrage. However, before he could fully stand on his two feet, laughter erupted from within the crowd of Jihyun's side.
Everyone's attention turned to the where the laughter had come from. It did not take long for Jimin and his side to put a face to the laughter.
All weapons from the right side came up along with threatening stares to those who were on the left. They readied for the blood bath that might come if their own was not returned.
The left side responded the same. No one moved.
Guns were readied to shoot.
At last a path was created for two men brought forward one whose head was covered by a brown bag and hands held together by a rope. Blood stained his clothes and when the bag was removed it, so was his face.
"Hey doll." Yoongi smiled despite his lip having a deep cut.
He turned to look at the father. "Hey asshole."
"Let him go!" Jimin screamed to the two that held him. They looked to the father, completely ignoring Jimin's request.
"Did you not hear me!" Jimin yelled even louder.
"You don't order around here." One of them said.
Without hesitation Jimin shot one in the leg and before the shock of it settled in, another shot was fired to the other man that held Yoongi. All heads turned to Kyungsoo who only looked at Jimin for seconds before he too was shot.
With three men on the ground and no one reacting, Yoongi was first to move towards his lover. Jimin welcomed him into his arms with a kiss to his forehead. He whispered the three sweet words to him before pushing him away to Jin who pulled him away.
"Was it worth it, Jimin? Leaving your family, your brother, and even parts of yourself? All for him."
Jimin looked at Yoongi and those around him. He loved the man despite it all. Was he too young and naive when he fell for him, perhaps. He wouldn't have wanted it any other way. He was introduce to a world where he would breathe freely and real happiness filled his days. The people surrounding him had shown him a world where he had a real family.
"Yes."
"Well then, I guess I have nothing left to say." The father stood.
"The day we've been waiting for is finally upon us. Let D-Day begin."
