Park Jimin drove like a mad man on the road in attempt to cut down such a long trip into a much shorter one. He knew that there was no way to turn hours into an hour or minutes but he was going to try. Anxiety riddled his body as he bit his bottom lip and tapped his fingertips on the steering wheel. He itched to see the sign welcoming him back to town before he got onto the bridge crossing him into it. When he did reach that moment, Jimin was too quick to sigh in relief.
"A shooting broke out on the other side." Hoseok informed Jimin who was going to have to pass through a part of that side in order to get back to his. "I'm sending you a shortcut now. How are you holding up?"
"I'm fine, how's Yoongi?"
"A goddamn mess. Get here quick he's trying to fight Jin and Taehyung again."
The shouting of the fighters could be heard in the background. Jimin followed through with the instructions sent by his friends in hopes that it would not slow him down which it didn't, however it did not stop him from hearing the chaos. His eyes stayed on the road yet from the corner of his eyes he could have sworn he saw a group of boys running. If he hadn't been so close to home he would have called Jihyun to be sure he was alright. It was unsure whether the younger brother would respond, but Jimin sent him a message anyway.
When Jimin arrived he was made knock on the door and say the secret password which Hoseok had sent him through text for safety measures. Everyone but Jimin himself hadn't an idea of what dangers were going on so when he made it in they all bombarded him with questions.
"I'll explain soon." Jimin said as he rushed to pull Yoongi off Taehyung. The two boys were red as they were split up.
"About damn time you got here!" Taehyung exclaimed. "He tried biting me!"
Everyone left the room to leave the couple to deal with their issues, whatever they could be. Hoseok, Taehyung, and Jin exited the room, but given there was no fourth wall or door to enclose the couple it was sure that their friends would hear what they had to say. Regardless, Jimin looked to make sure they were alone before helping Yoongi clean himself up.
"What's going on?"
Jimin didn't know himself. All he did know was that a anxiety unlike never before struck him after having spoken to the man's mother which led them all to that very moment.
"I went to go see your mom and-"
"Why would you do that!?" Yoongi exclaimed, his hands pushing away Jimin's. He stood and began pacing around as he called the action several harsh words. Jimin want to agree, however after learning what he had he couldn't. Mrs.Min had given him information no one else could and because of that he knew of possible dangers, even if it meant he had to learn a dark secret withheld from him.
Once Yoongi realized that he was not being argued back, he stopped. He looked to Jimin who had his eyes bouncing from wall to wall. Immediately he knew this was no longer about just them. Something or someone else had gotten involved.
"Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be mad at me?"
Jimin nodded his head. "I am, but I think my dad may be running this whole show?"
"Show?"
"Everything, Yoongi. The bunnies don't run this, they're simply pawns. Your mom told me everything."
A quick intake of breath could be heard, but it had come from neither in the room. Eyes could be seen peering into the room through the bead curtain. The three eavesdropping were allowed in where they said nothing for they were processing as Jimin had the first time he heard that aloud.
"Yeah...according to Yoongi's ma, my father's been running this whole cannibalistic business since they were young. She even called herself her his right hand. Apparently he's been keeping tabs on me and that's why Mrs.Min is worried..." Jimin turned to take Yoongi's hand in his, "She doesn't want us together because she's scared. She's scared that one day something is going to happen between us that will upset him and get you hurt...I'm scared too."
Yoongi had gone so much paler than he already was. He did not know how to react so he simply didn't. He kept expressionless as he let his hand beheld and his eyes stayed put on the ground.
"You made us lock him in here because you were scared your dad might have found out about the fight..." Taehyung said softly as the pieces finally together in his head. "Won't be worse though?"
Jimin looked to his friend confused. He thought that his doing in keeping Yoongi locked in a room that couldn't be reached and guarded was the best way to go. Jin however agreed with him.
"Tae's right. Doing this," He pointed around them, "is much worse. This is letting your dad know the severity of the fight. This isn't your first one that people know about, but it is the first that's knocked things out of the ordinary."
"Yeah..." Hoseok agreed. "We never close the shop when you two fight, whatever it may be about."
The couple looked to each other as they thought of what their friends had to say. As they went through all their fights in the past years they came to the conclusion that their friends were absolutely right. Never had any quarrel disrupted the system. Everything would continue on to be as normal as it can be. The shop would remain open even if Yoongi was not there to operate it, Jimin would continue to do deliveries and work as well. This fight shouldn't be any different.
"You're right." Yoongi said at last. "Hoseok open the shop up. The rest of you go help or sit outside or something, Jimin and I have to talk."
Motion set back into the three friends who obeyed. They walked out of the room to leave the couple to do their talking, however that didn't happen right away. Jimin and Yoongi stayed silent as they listened closely to what was being done just past the beaded curtain. Hoseok was unlocking the door while Jin complained about what radio station they should listen to, and Taehyung was touching all the new merchandise as he would sometimes. It took a few minutes before things sounded back to the ordinary.
"Don't think all this has made me forget what you did. I haven't forgiven you."
"I didn't expect you to, but just know that doll I love you. It didn't mean anything, all that kiss did was drive me right back to you, literally. I drove to the farm the second I regretted it and I was going to tell you, it's just...I saw you happy to see me and I didn't want to ruin that." Yoongi sighed. "I'm sorry."
Jimin knew he was sorry and so was he for feeling as though forgiveness should be given then and there. However, he was strong and withheld. Instead he drew his hand away from Yoongi's touch. As much as he felt sweetened by the words of his actions, Jimin knew he could not give in so easily. He feared that in doing that he could be telling Yoongi that it was okay what he had done even if there was no meaning. It wasn't right and the effect of it was still standing. The entire way to the childhood home Jimin suffered in thought. What could come of what was said to be harmless haunted him. He thought the worst from the meaningless gesture between old lovers.
"You know, anyone else would have been better."
Jimin had thought hard and long about it. If Yoongi would have even slept with someone who wasn't Kyungsoo and called it meaningless, it would have probably hurt less. He loathed the fact that there was a possibility that he could be cut from the picture of one kiss between the two. If it had been someone else than that he didn't deem that possible. A one night stand with a stranger would have meant less to Jimin than a kiss with Kyungsoo. That stranger would have only been used for a distraction from issues while Kyungsoo could lead to something so much more.
Yoongi nodded. "I know, and for that I'm sorry. Doll-"
The man was cut off by the sound of chattering from outside coming to an stop completely. Jin greeted someone who spoke too softly for either one in the room to pick up on. They stared at each other curiously before signalling that they stand towards the wall. That anxiousness Jimin felt from before was beginning to pick up where it off as Jin's pale face poked through the beads.
"Jiminie?" Jin said in a soft voice that was trying to be soothing but only made for Jimin to worry even more. "Are you two still busy?"
"That depends...who's asking?"
There was a silence that allowed for Jimin to hear other voices in the back. Taehyung was asking a question which he was given to a response in a sweet tone.
"There's someone here who wants to see you. She says-"
"Can I talk to him?"
Jimin's eyes went completely wide as he recognized the voice.
"Eomma?"
"Hey, Jimbles."
