30

At last the time of return came for the residents living above the tattoo shop one owned. The shop itself welcome them with brand new glass since the it owned had had been shot to shards on the concrete. Buildings around them that had had that same issue were looking back to normal, actually all was except for the occasional pedestrians. At least one or two souls would roam the streets during the dark hours but this morning it had not been the case. Stores were not ready to open and apparently no one was in the mood to walk the streets.

"It's feels so good to be back!" Jimin yelled out as he climbed the stairs back to their apartment which he ignored to acknowledge all too much for he was desperately trying to get to their bed. Nothing else was concerning him except of course his bedroom where the big bed which he would not be sharing with Jungkook or Taehyung was calling out for.  Yoongi was left behind to struggle carrying the suitcases up to the residency.

"I'm so happy!"

At the younger's bright face, Yoongi couldn't help but smile. He looked to their bedroom, also being awfully joyful to be back in it. He closed the door before climbing onto the mattress to hover over his partner and gush over his presence.

"I can sleep without being woken up by the rooster!" Jimin exclaimed as he held his lover's face in hand. He kissed him before pushing him to the other side of the bed.

"What are you doing?" Yoongi whined as he watched his partner leave his side. "Come here!"

Jimin giggled at the cry but he ignored it completely. He could give Yoongi all the attention he wanted once he was situated in clothes much more comfortable than the one he had one. As he searched Yoongi's drawers for an oversize shirt to wear he fought with his partner as to who would sleep the longest. It was clear Yoongi would win since he won every time they tried to compete. However, Jimin really believed this time he would win. He was excited to get himself in such a deep sleep that once he found the large shirt he tossed it on the bed and quickly closed the drawer.

At the sound of wood hitting wood, everything stopped.

The sound triggered a memory, one the young man couldn't believe he had forgotten upon arrival. He looked to the box which was pressed together with other wood that made it be called a drawer.

"I closed it..."

"Jimin-"

"Yoongi, I closed that drawer!"

The man was called out for again by the elder but completely ignored it. All the sudden taken over by a feeling of anxiety as well as confusion, Jimin rushed out into the living room. He went straight to the last place he had sat himself which was in the living room where on the coffee table should have been spread out a whole pile of notes and a drawer with some in it.

There was nothing.

In the place where all the letters written by his missing mother, there was nothing. All the papers that were once piled neatly and some not so much were all gone. Jimin, shocked by the sight, stayed put in place.

"Doll? Is everything all right?"

Yoongi joined his partner's side to find a stilled being overtaken by fright that left him paralyzed. The elder's eyes followed where his partner looked to and he too became lost but not by the sight of nothing, not at first at least. He asked Jimin what he had seen that left him so shocked and he was responded with nothing, Yoongi became even more puzzled. He tried to sit his partner down to help calm him but couldn't.

"The notes..." Jimin muttered and it was all he needed to do for at last the message to get through. Yoongi recalled the day of the shooting, what he had been doing and what Jimin had been doing as well.

On the evening, after lunch the two split ways. Everyone decided to go about their daily tasks or whatever they had to do after all seven men had their usual meal together. Yoongi, Hoseok, and Taehyung stayed in the shop while Jungkook and Namjoon left to do their own things elsewhere. Jin had offered to help Jimin in continuing to sort the letters from his mother, they had been doing that in the apartment right where they both now looked at.

Yoongi himself froze in place as his anxiety took over his chest overwhelmingly. Jimin was now having trouble breathing, not just because he had lost the only thing drawing him closer to his mother at the moment but for the same reason Yoongi was becoming hysterical.

Someone had been in the apartment.

"Okay! Okay, let's not panic." Yoongi said as he pushed his hand through his hair. "Does anyone have keys to the apartment aside from Namjoon?"

Only three existing keys of the home had been made, two for those who lived there and one for safe keeping with Namjoon. Yoongi ran back into the room to call the only other with a copy while his lover cried over the missing papers. Jimin sobbed over the notes until he finally stopped to think of something else but of it.

"Yoongi, the fridge!"

Both males sprinted to the said item. Yoongi's favorite meat was stored there and if someone had been in the house, there was a chance they could have snooped to see it. They open to the freezer and to their dismay, all was intact.

"Search the house, make sure nothing else is missing."

Both males took rooms to look through. They were sure to examine carefully through all their things. In the end, everything was found exactly where it was left. Money was plainly in sight as well as expensive items which meant only one thing. Whoever had been in the apartment had come for the letters and that was only thing they came for.

"Get the meat out of the fridge." Jimin instructed. "I'm calling the police."

The young man dialed the number for the authorities but never got to hit the green button to call. Before his thumb could hit the final step before the start of a dial, it was snatched from his hand. Outraged, he looked to his partner to scold him but upon seeing his pale face, he knew there was something else to be discovered.

"Jimin...you closed that drawer."

The young man wanted to scream out how right he was but he was too curious by his partners stillness and glossy eye look to even consider doing it. When their eyes met, Jimin knew to not say anything because Yoongi wasn't done. The man's eyes were guilt filled and frightful.

"The day we went to the house to pick up the letters...there was uh...."

"What Yoongi?" Jimin asked with a tone that made it clear he was not willing to be patient. The look Yoongi displayed was one the lover knew very well. The face was one Jimin knew he shouldn't be patient with because whatever was about to said next would reveal something he wouldn't want to know.

"We weren't alone."
