Into the mouth of place known where dreams die and others are celebrated strolled in a stranger who instantly had eyes glued to him. Park Jimin walked into the bar feeling like all he needed was a sip of every single drink so that the pain in his chest would go away and the soul crushing thoughts would disappear. He did not care for the looks he was given by the mostly men but also some women. The man was not caring for the fact that he had stopped the flow of the pub, he just wanted a drink.
"Are you lost?"
Jimin shook his head at the bartender. She didn't seem convinced so he ordered his drink and told her just why he wasn't lost. The woman understood him to be a visitor and left to fetch what he asked for. Her curly black hair bounced as he slid from one side to get a cup and then to other to fill it with ice. She focused her eyes on pouring the brown liquid as did Jimin.
"Like most strangers that come here, you don't seem happy. You want to tell this stranger just why?" She asked.
The man was skeptical at first about telling the unknown person his problems but then he realized one thing. He wasn't back home. This wasn't someone who knew everyone else he did, she was no one to him. Jimin poured down the drink and asked for another one then told her just why he was there.
"My partner of an asshole decided to say nothing when his mother said we were nothing but a phase," Jimin chuckled bitterly. "'nothing that'll last.'"
The woman nodded thoughtfully but stopped as a single thought contradicted her understanding. "And say stranger, why do you care she said that? Do you believe her?"
Jimin stopped sipping his drink, the woman had just struck something in him. He actually didn't believe exactly what the mother had said but he had thought about it before. Yoongi was very well known for not lasting with anyone except one person before Jimin came along. He couldn't be blamed for thinking they too wouldn't last for much time after all they had been through. Of course Jimin couldn't tell the woman all the details of how his lover use to play with others and he could have possible been one even though he never did think of their relationship like that, a game.
"Not exactly, no. It's just not the nicest thing to hear."
She nodded her head to thought in agreement. "Yeah not nice to be told that. Well if you get lonely there's plenty of pretty woman here and if that's no good, there's some good hunks too."
The young man smiled at her which caused her to do the same. She pulled her glasses back up her nose then excused herself to attend a new costumer. Jimin took the time to look around the bar, it wasn't like he was considered taking her up one the offer but he still wanted to see if what she spoke was true.
There were indeed pretty woman sitting about the wooden tables listening joyfully to the soft music that played at a moderate volume through the speakers. As for men, he couldn't say many caught his eyes yet again that a very hard thing to do for him. Jimin's list of attraction had resulted with only a few names and all except one were added by his intoxicated self. He quit looking around and left himself to indulge back into his drink. Thoughts pulled him away from the place he resided and into a dark hole that was pitiful thinking.
The mother's words repeated in Jimin's head like more of a broken record than before. He could only think of what if they were true. What if perhaps he and Yoongi would not last as so she said despite them having been doing so for the past three years. Sure along the way of that time they had fought like any couple would. Yoongi was a man with a temper and Jimin was hot headed, it was bound for there to be issues but never did they completely teared them apart for long, except one of course. The finding of Yoongi's preference in cannibalism was one that poked holes in the relationship for quite some time and to the very moment that Jimin sat in the bar, he still suffered the outcomes of that. The wounds left by those times were no longer fresh but like cuts that are deep, scars are left behind.
"Seems like you're head's about to pop off, breathe boy."
Jimin was broken from the trance that was his distressing mind. Next him now sat a man much older than him by perhaps ten years. It was clear that he was older but his looks were admirable, he cared for his appearance. The man had eyes that reminded Jimin of someone else's but he couldn't think who and skin that glowed in the light of the bar. He also did seem just the slightest bit taller to him. Overall the man wasn't the worse looking, he was handsome.
"I'm fine." The younger replied.
The stranger hummed. "Doesn't seem so. Where are you from because I come here often and this is the first time I've seen such a nice face."
At the compliment Jimin couldn't help but smile. He took a sip from his drink just as the man got his. In the process he made eye contact with the bartender, she simply winked at him. Jimin hoped the man had not caught the gesture so to distract if had, he told informed him that he was new to the area.
"Well it's good to see new faces around here. C's probably already told you not many people come around here." The man motioned to the bartender. "She must have been excited to serve a new face, an admirable one too."
Jimin took the compliment again seeing that it was helping his foul mood. He was not drunk to completely give into the alluring stranger but he also wasn't sober to not at least dip a part of himself. The young man was upset and this man was making him feel better, in a not sober person's brain that was a great combination. So Jimin leaned closer to the man and asked for a name so that he could properly thank for the compliments.
"Seungsoo." The stranger said. "And you'd be?"
Jimin held out his hand with a grin. "Park Jimin. Thank you for being glad to see my face, so far in my trip you've been the only one."
"Is that so?" The man furrowed his eyebrows while shaking his hand. "With such nice features you've got Jimin I would have expect many other people to be grateful to catch a glimpse of you. I know that at least I am."
A few more drinks led to the compliments to increase and for more visible flustering. The consumption also helped in the forgetting of the harsh words and the haunting thoughts. Jimin was enjoying the company of the stranger so much that he was laughing at the stories he had to tell and even leaning on him when he couldn't contain his laughter to himself. Seungsoo was welcoming to the interaction which was why he smiled all the more when Jimin asked for more drinks for the two, it meant more time they'd be spending together.
"Okay, now I have a question for you." Seungsoo said as Jimin finished giggling at his joke. "Why are you here? What's someone like yourself doing here in a such a small town?"
Jimin was drunk now but he was sober enough to know to not say the real reason he was there. He was forced to tell the man that he had come to visit someone who was not fond of him by choice and not because if he didn't he could have been killed while he slept in his own home.
"Why come see someone who doesn't like you? Oh wait let me guess, you were made to by someone else right? Someone who actually likes the person?"
The young man nodded his head, that was exactly it.
"Who? Everyone in this town knows just about everyone, I bet I know who you're visiting or whose dragged you."
Jimin chuckled half halfheartedly at the enthusiasm. He frankly did not want to tell this man who he had come with because that meant revealing that he had a partner which might push the other away. He was enjoying the company of Seungsoo too much to let it be ruined by saying he was in a relationship but in not doing so, he might be allowing for a boundary to be crossed. Jimin sighed, he had to say who because in not doing so he he was breaking something unspoken.
"Min Yoongi."
At the name the face of the man fell. It was like in his mouth had been shoved in something distasteful. Jimin watched as Seungsoo's tongue roamed the inside of cheek until clicked his tongue creating a sound. When he finally turned back to look at the newcomer he looked displeased.
"That's my brother's ex."
