◤ chapter seven: ❛ five o'clock somewhere ❜ ◢

TONI GROANED, OPENING HER EYES BEFORE SQUEEZING THEM SHUT, THEN FINALLY RUBBING THEM TO FULLY WAKE UP. She looked around, finding the end of the night before blurry and very unware as to where she actually ended up, especially since there was a body next to her. She pushed herself up and rested her weight onto her arms, peering over and letting the covers fall off of her chest, before her eyes widened.
Shit.
She made a huge fucking mistake. Because right there beside her, still sleeping, was Harry fucking Osborn – of course. She slept with Harry because everything with Caden and – of fuck, Caden! – then she went with Harry to talk because she was drunk and wanted to keep drinking and now she was here, she just couldn't remember how she got here or what she even talked to him about, what she told him.
Oh fuck.
She immediately shuffled to get out of the bed without waking him, seeing her clothes on the ground and slowly putting them back while staring at him to make sure that he didn't move. Fuck. She had a headache and made a huge mistake and she just needed to get out of here before he woke up and hope that he didn't remember any of this. God, she was a real idiot now.
Successfully getting all her clothes back on and gathering her belongings, Toni went to the door and slowly opened it, stopping immediately when it began to creak. She peered over to Harry's sleeping figure and let out a small sigh of relief when he didn't move at the sound so she continued to move it open just enough for her to get out before closing it behind her.
She looked around the place – which was completely gorgeous, she'd give him that. It oozed richness and was completely refined and sleek. The kitchen had the best appliances; everything was the best here. Damn. She looked for an exit and found the front door after looking around enough, leaving the house and Harry behind her.
She scrambled through her bag to get her phone, calling for an Uber while walking away before calling Sabrina. When the girl picked up, she didn't waste any time asking, "Wanna meet up for coffee? I really need to talk."

Toni got there after Sabrina, who immediately waved at her when she walked in. She smiled at her friend and said, "Please tell me that you've ordered coffee already."
Sabrina rolled her eyes. "Um, duh. I know your order by heart now," she said it proudly and Toni felt touched that her friend cared enough to remember something as simple as a coffee order, even if they had been there a million times and if she didn't know it by now that was pretty sad.
"Thanks," Toni told her genuinely, "I really need it. Or a drink. I could go for a drink right now."
"Toni, it's ten in the morning," Sabrina deadpanned.
"Well I'm sure it's five o'clock somewhere else," Toni teased, smiling at her friend who always tried to discourage her bad behavior, "But fine. I'll just go with some coffee for now."
"So where did you run off to last night?" Sabrina asked, relaxing in her seat more as Toni did the same.
"What do you mean?" Toni raised an eyebrow.
Sabrina rolled her eyes, "I mean that I didn't see you last night at the party – and I was there from beginning to end. No really, I helped Liz set up and then clean up after."
"I thought cleanup was a morning after kinda job," Toni snorted, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear that had fallen out.
Sabrina stared at her, assessing her for a moment. "You look awful," she concluded, "And you have sex hair."
"I'm surprised you even know what that looks like," Toni joked, earning her a look from Sabrina causing her to raise her hands up in a surrendering action, "Alright, I apologize."
"I've had sex before, I know what sex hair looks like. Which leads me to my original question: where did you run off to last night?" Sabrina asked, "I mean, you probably skipped the party entirely, no matter if Atlas said that you were around somewhere."
"I went to the party," Toni frowned at the accusation that she skipped it. She would never do that, "I was there for, like, two hours before I left."
"How come I never saw you then?" Sabrina questioned.
"Maybe because you were spending your time with Liz and not anyone else," Toni offered.
Sabrina frowned, "Liz was the host and she's my friend. Is it a crime for me to spend time with her?"
"Course not, but maybe you should consider that the reason you didn't see me was because you were following her around like a lost puppy the whole night," Toni snapped.
Sabrina recoiled. "You know, if you're gonna stay stuff like that I'm leaving."
She stood up but Toni immediately went out to grab her, feeling bad for snapping and saying stuff like that. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it," Toni apologized, "Just, sit down. I won't talk about it again."
"No, I wanna talk about it," Sabrina disagreed, though she did sit down again.
Toni sighed, "I guess I'm just jealous, you know? I'm not used to you going to parties, first of all, and choosing to hang out with someone else over me."
Sabrina stared at her and she squirmed uncomfortably in her seat. "Whatever, just forget it, it's stupid," Toni shook her head, just wanting to move on.
"It's not stupid," Sabrina frowned, "It's just – you hang out with other people over me all the time, but when I do it...you have a problem?"
"No, I don't hang out with people over you," Toni disagreed right off the bat, "Yeah, I hang out with other people, and so do you, but I always put you first unless I already had previous plans with them. But whenever we're somewhere together...we're together, not separated."
"It was Liz' party, of course I was gonna hang out with Liz," Sabrina said.
"I never even saw Liz and I was there for two hours. Not everyone hangs around the host," Toni said.
"Yeah, but not everyone is friends with the host," Sabrina rebutted, "I am, and she wanted me around, so I hung around her."
"But I was also there and I would've hung out with you – I even tried to find you – but you didn't try and find me," Toni said.
"Of course I tried to find you! But Atlas said that he left you after seeing you have a screaming match with these two guys and then I couldn't find you," Sabrina huffed, "I have other friends."
"Yeah, I know," Toni said, "But it really seems like you and Liz aren't just friends."
Sabrina raised an eyebrow at that, "You think that we're dating and I haven't told you?"
"Or that you two are gonna start dating. I mean, come on, you're spending a lot of time with her lately and out of the blue she wanted to hang out with you? It's clear that she likes you, anyway," Toni defended herself.
"I'm not dating anyone, Toni, and I'm not about to," Sabrina shut her down, "Liz is my friend and she started hanging out with me next year since it's pretty clear to everyone that I'm taking over her position after she leaves. That's it."
"Alright," Toni said, wanting to leave it at that. Just then their coffee was set down in front of them and Toni immediately began to start drinking it. "I believe you, I'm just saying what it looks like."
"Well, looks are deceiving," Sabrina finished off, sipping at her own coffee, "God, that burnt my tongue."
Toni giggled at her, finding herself in a better mood at the comment. Sabrina looked at her again with eyes trying to peer into her soul, "Now, who did you sleep with? You still haven't told me."
"It was all just a huge mistake," Toni began, "I don't even remember any of it, but, well, Harry Osborn."
Sabrina, who was sipping at her coffee, choked on it and Toni's eyes widened in panic. She began to cough and spit up the drink all with incredibly wide eyes. "You slept with Harry Osborn?!" Sabrina hissed out once she got her coughing under control and didn't feel like she was choking anymore.
Toni meekly nodded.
"Oh my God, that's gold!" Sabrina laughed, "You-You antagonize him and call him the Devil and glare at him and now you've slept with him."
Her cheeks went red and her eyes shuffled away to not look at her friend anymore. "Shut up, it was a mistake. All I remember was that Harry wanted to talk and I wasn't in a good mood because I just found out that the guy I was sleeping with has a girlfriend – which is totally not cool, by the way – and then I woke up in his bed naked. So, well, two plus two means that we fucked."
"Only you can call Harry the devil and still get him to sleep with you," Sabrina continued to cackle, "This has gotta be the best joke I've ever heard."
"It's not a joke," Toni said, "It was a terrible mistake and I'm just really hoping that he doesn't remember it so we can pretend that it never happened."
"Oh, I'm never letting you live this down," Sabrina shook her head, a wide grin on her face, "I mean, how can I? You slept with your self-proclaimed enemy!"
"Not one of my finer moments," Toni agreed, "God, I just wanna forget about everything and pretend like it never happened. It was a mistake and it changes nothing."
Sabrina got silent and leaned in closely, whispering, "Do you remember what his dick looks like?"
Toni swat at her immediately. "No I don't remember what his dick looks like," she hissed back, "And even if I did, I'm not discussing it while we're in public and I can see a child. That's wrong."
"Technically, under the law, we're also children," Sabrina shrugged, "But it's a shame you don't remember. You know, if you took a pic of it, you could've gotten a lot of money."
"Ugh, you sound like Atlas right now," Toni groaned.
"Well, am I wrong?" Sabrina asked, not receiving an answer from the other girl before then saying, "That's what I thought. I'm not. I'm completely right."
"And here I thought you're supposed to be the morally correct friend who would never, ever dream of selling a picture of someone's dick to get a lot of money," Toni said.
Sabrina only shrugged again, "Your morally correct friend is also in need of money and doesn't wanna get a conventional job, so..."
Toni sighed, "I barely even looked at him before running out of there. I just wanted to get out before he had the chance to wake up and see me and then we'd be forced to talk and it would so awkward and I just really hope that he blacks out the entire night."
"I think his body – or his bed – which remember that he had sex last night," Sabrina brought up.
"As long as it doesn't remember that it was with me, I really don't care," Toni responded, "It's not my problem then."
"Well, what if he does remember?" Sabrina asked.
Toni shrugged, "Then we'll talk and agree to never, ever speak of it ever again and go on as regular enemies do. I don't see why it has to be any other way."
Sabrina snorted, "Please, if he invited you to talk out your problems with him, it's because he likes you. He won't want to go back to enemies because he probably never even hated you in the first place."
"He called me a bitch," Toni deadpanned.
"And so has Atlas, but he doesn't hate you," Sabrina brought up, "And I'm sure that you called him an asshole beforehand or something to spike that response."
Toni looked away, not wanting to admit that Sabrina was right and she had called him that. And that she was always super rude to him just because he was breathing in a vicinity near her and talked to her. What can she say, she's not kind to people she doesn't like unless she can gain something from them.
"Well, he might do that, but I won't. I like the whole enemy thing we have going on and I don't wanna change it. The last thing I need is a rich boy thinking he deserves me just because he wants me," Toni said.
"I think you're forgetting the part where you're also rich," Sabrina blinked, looking at her.
"He's richer, which means more entitlement," Toni said, having seen her fair share of sons growing up with lots of daddy's money – more than her own father. The more money always meant more feelings toward entitlement and that was the last thing she wanted.
Sabrina shrugged, "I don't know, he's pretty chill in gov."
"Just wait until you don't give him what he wants, then you'll see it," Toni assured her, gulping down another big swig of coffee.
hi yes they did sleep together but don't think it's gonna be all smooth sailing from here. it's obvious that toni still does not like harry so...
