Farmer Refuted

The next few weeks were spent at a dance studio in downtown New York. The cast worked day in and day out on the different songs and dances that Andy had taught them. And in those few weeks, Odessa had really shown Lin and Andy that she was capable of doing just about anything that they asked her to do.

Currently, they were going on the dance for Helpless, and Odessa was doing spins and different steps that always kept her close and near to Pippa when the time was right. It was one of the first times that they had gone through the song at full speed, so Andy cut it about half way through and dismissed the dancers for a lunch break.

Odessa let a loud sigh escape her lips as she walked over to her bag and pulled put her bottle of water, taking a large drink of it before she put it back in the bag and grabbed her wallet. She stood up and looked around the room, meeting eyes with Daveed for only a moment from across the room.

The girl broke the eye contact first before Anthony and Jasmine came bounding over to her, both of them with smiles on their faces. "Hey, do you wanna come grab lunch with us?" Jasmine asked, and Odessa nodded

"That's sounds great." She replied, nodding her head as she followed after the pair, staying slightly behind the laughing pair as they walked towards the pizza shop that was close to the studio. Odessa couldn't help the smile that formed over her lips when she watched the two of them interact. The nervous giggles, the slight hand touches and the way that Anthony looked at Jasmine when she wasn't paying attention. Like she was the only girl that he had ever seen, and the most beautiful scene in the entire world. Odessa was honored, in her own way, to be witnessing the two of them fall for each other.

But at the same time, it made her sad. It made her miss when her and Daveed were younger and he made her as happy as Jasmine was with Anthony. Not in a relationship way, but in a best friend kind of way. He had always been the one person Odessa could count on, the person she could run to no matter what.

Odessa let a small sigh escape her lips as they entered the shop, and the two ahead of her walked over to a booth, sitting down beside of each other and leaving the other side open for Odessa. The brunette slowly slid into the other side and pulled her phone out of her back pocket, beginning to fidget on it. Flipping in between different apps and replying to a few texts before she put her phone down on the table.

A waitress came over and smiled at the three, taking their orders for drinks and informing her that she would be right back. Odessa nodded her head and picked up the menu in front of her, her eyes slowly scanning over the different toppings and sizes that the place offered, but her thoughts were pulled from food when the door opened, and the little bell went off. Her eyes wondered over to the door, and she instantly froze as Daveed stood there, smiling in her direction. That's when she glanced back over at Jasmine and Anthony who were waving Daveed over and smiling at him.

A small scowl formed over the girls face as she looked at her friends. Jasmine gave the girl a sheepish grin, and Anthony gave her a slightly confused look. He wasn't completely aware of the fact that Odessa and Daveed weren't on talking terms, due to no one telling him. Daveed had mentioned to him that he was trying to get on Odessa's good side, but not that they werent even friends.

"What is he doing here?" Odessa said, the scowl on her face never leaving. Jasmine continued to give the girl a smile as she shrugged.

"We invited him too, I really didn't think it would be a big deal." Jasmine said quietly and Odessa let a loud groan pass her lips as she slammed her own head down on the table. Daveed chuckled quietly as he sat down beside of Odessa, his eyes glancing over at the girl.

"Are you that excited to see me?" Daveed asked, and Odessa instantly flipped him the bird without picking her head up off the table. Daveed let another laugh pass his lips as he patted her upper back, causing the girl to jump from his touch.

"Don't touch me." Odessa said, raising up her head only enough so Daveed could see the glare on her face as she looked at him. Daveed rolled his eyes slightly as he looked down at Odessa.

"Oh, I'm so scared of you. What are you gonna do, Clark? Glare me to death?" Daveed asked sarcastically, and Odessa instantly sat all the way back up, still continuing to glare at him.

"I will literally beat the shit out of you." She said, moving her head up slightly closer to him with a glare still on her eyes. Daveed chuckled, his face also moving in slightly towards Odessa.

"Bring it, Des." He said, their faces only inches apart when Jasmine let out an awkward cough, causing Odessa and Daveed to jump apart from each other, a blush forming over the girls cheeks, but the glare never leaving her face.

"Did you hear the waitress?" Jazzy asked, and Odessa shook her head, looking back up at the blonde waitress.

The waitress smiled awkwardly at Odessa and Daveed, tapping her pen against the notepad she had. "I just asked if you were ready to order and gave you guys your drinks."

"Oh uh, yeah, I'll hav-" Odessa started, only to be cut off by Daveed.

"We'll have a half pineapple, pepperoni, and bacon, half pepperoni small pizza." Daveed said, finishing off the order for Odessa.

"Bu-"

"Is that all?" The waitress asked, and Daveed nodded his head.

"N-" Odessa started again, once again being cut off.

"Yes, thank you." Daveed said and the waitress nodded, walking away. Odessa let a loud groan escape her lips as she pulled back her fist and sent it flying into Daveed's upper arm. Daveed looked over at Odessa with his mouth slightly agape.

"That's was rude." He said. "So violent."

"That was rude?! You kept cutting me off! And you ordered for me! What if I don't still like pineapple on pizza?"

"Do you not like pineapple on pizza?" Daveed asked, a goofy grin still on his face as Odessa hesitated, her face turning slightly red.

"Well, no. But, what if I didn't?!" She said, causing a small laugh to escape from Anthony and Jasmines lips as they listened to the two bicker.

"I know you, Odessa. If you believe it or not, I know everything about you and I always have." He said, chuckling slightly as the girl crossed her arms over her chest, popping her bottom lip out in defeat.

"Fine." She said, the irritation still obvious in her voice as she sat there. Daveed, Anthony and Jasmine eventually fell into conversation as Odessa sat there, staring at her lap, her leg fidgeting slightly under the table.

Daveed continued to talk with Anthony and Jasmine as he reached his hand under the table, putting it on the girls knees and running his finger tips down it slowly. At first the girl slightly jumped, but she slowly realized that he was only trying to calm the slight anxiety she had down. She sighed quietly as she placed her elbows on the table, placing her head in her hands as she did so that she could join in the conversation.

"No, I love the choreo for Schuyler Sisters." Jasmine said, popping her bottom lip out slightly as Anthony threw his hand up in the air and loudly said.

"And Peggy!" Daveed and Anthony chuckled quietly as they made eye contact, and once again, arms went up in the air, followed by a "Work!" and a snap.

"You two are assholes." Jasmine chuckled, and Odessa nodded her head.

"That one I can agree with." Odessa said as she leaned forward and took a drink of her water, a small laugh escaping her lips as she watched both Daveed and Anthony's jaw drop as they looked over at her.

"That's just cold, Des." Anthony said with a laugh, and Odessa nodded her head, opening her mouth to speak but yet again, being cut off by Daveed.

"She's always been cold hearted." He said, flattening his hand against her up leg, causing Odessa to shift slightly under the table. She glanced over at Daveed with a scowl on her face, but the man simply chuckled as he went back to his conversation with Anthony and Jasmine. Odessa had always been the more quite one of the two, keeping to herself in social settings like this one.

Daveed began to slowly move his hand up the girls leg as they sat, her leg beginning to twitch slightly under his touch and her cheeks turning a slightly red color. She glanced over at Daveed, the angered look never leaving her face. But the man didn't seem to notice due to the fact that he never broke eye contact with Anthony and Jasmine.

Odessa grumbled slightly under her breathe as she picked up her phone and opened up her twitter app. She typed in Daveed's username in the search bar and clicked on his username when it popped up. Since she no longer had Daveed's number, and she didn't want to cause a scene, she figured sending him a twitter DM would be her best bet.

Her fingers clicked on the message button once his twitter loaded and she sent him a message, telling him to remove his hand from her leg before he lost the hand completely. Seconds after the message was sent, Daveed's phone vibrated and he pulled it out of his pocket with the hand that was not placed on the girls thigh. A chuckle left his lips as he read the message and he squeezed her thigh slightly before letting go.

She sat there for a few more minutes in silence before the pizza was placed in front of her. She grabbed a slice of the pizza and taking a couple of bites out of bites out of it, laughing every once in a while as she listened to them talk. Her eyes trailing back and forth between the sides of the table between who was talking.

"So, tomorrow night after rehearsal, we're all going to a club downtown as sort of a celebration for having done as much as we have." Anthony started, glancing back and forth between Daveed and Odessa.

"It was Lins idea, he said he's really proud of how far we've come in a short time so we deserve to part-ahhhh!" Jasmine said, a small laugh escaping her lips. Odessa nodded her head, a smile over her lips.

"Yeah, I'm down." Des said, nodding her head.

"Me too." Daveed said, glancing over at Odessa with a raised eyebrow. The last time that they were together, Odessa had hated to drink, party, or anything that involved super loud sounds. But, he didn't say anything, as to not anger her anymore at him.

Odessa pulled her wallet out and placed a few dollars on the table before she gathered her phone. "I gotta run home before practice stars, so I'll meet you guys back at the studio." She said, and Daveed nodded his head as he pulled out his wallet and threw the rest of the money in where Odessa had thrown hers.

"Do you guys mind to give the waitress the money for ours?" Daveed asked, Jasmine and Anthony shaking their heads.

"Not at all."

"What are you doing, Diggs?" Odessa asked, watching as Daveed slid out of the booth, holding his belongings close to him with a smile on his face.

"I'm gonna walk with you, obviously." He said, the smile never leaving his face, even when Odessa continued to scowl at him.

"No you're not." She said as she stood up, looking up at him since he was nearly a foot taller than she was.

"Watch me, babydoll." He chuckled, watching as Odessa groaned loudly and threw her arms down, heading towards the door.

"You're unbelievable." Odessa said as she exited the restaurant, Daveed following right behind her. Anthony and Jasmine couldnt help the smiles that were on their faces as they looked over at each other.

"We gotta figure out a way to get Des to like Daveed again. They're perfect together." Jasmine said, and Anthony nodded his head.

"Secret mission?" Anthony asked, holding out his hand.

"Mission accepted." Jasmine said, grabbing his hand and shaking it, laughing quietly.
