Aaron Burr, Sir

A few weeks passed before Odessa heard anything, and in those few weeks she had grown fairly close to Phillipa. The two had coffee every couple of days, and had gotten to know each other fairly well. Since the girl hadn't been in New York her entire life, and only moved here after school, she didn't have many friends. She did online work so she didn't have friends that she made out of co-workers. Phillipa was one of the only friends that the girl had made.

That morning, Dessa rolled out of her bed and went into the restroom. She took a quick shower and washed her hair, along with her body before she got out. She toweled dried and wrapped the towel around her body, tucking them under her arms as she walked out of the bathroom with her cellphone in hand.

As she made her way into the bedroom, her phone began to rang. It was an unknown number, but she had been answering all unknown numbers since her audition.

"Hello?" She said, readjusting the towel that was around her.

"Is this Odessa Clark?" A familiar voice said, and Odessa nodded her head before she realized that they couldn't see her.

"Yes, this is her." She replied, her cheeks turning slightly red from embarrassment.

"Hey! This is Lin! I just wanted to let you know that you made ensemble!" He said happily and the girl started jumping around slightly in her room.

"Heck yeah!" The girl said happily, before getting a little more serious. "What day does practice start?"

"Actually, the first practice is currently happening. We had been trying to reach you, but I think we wrote down your number wrong. So I got your number from Phillipa. The practice lasts all day, so just get here when you can, okay?" He said, and Odessa nearly dropped her phone.

"Oh, fuck, okay. I'm on my way in five." She said as she said goodbye to Lin, hanging up her phone and quickly getting dressed in a pair of joggers and a loose fitting t-shirt. She slid on a pair of comfortable dancing shoes and ran out of her apartment with her bag full of anything she may have needed. For once, instead of walking down to the theatre, the girl jumped into her old beat down car and speeding towards the theatre.

She parked in front of the theatre and walked inside, looking around until she saw the door that was opened and had Lin standing on the stage. The girl slid in the back and sat a few rows back so that no one would be bothered by her showing up late. Currently, Lin was going over the fact that they would each be receiving scripts today, and that they would start to go over all the songs together.

Mandy, the girl from the audition, started to pass out all of the scripts. She smiled and waved at Odessa, who smiled and returned the favor. A few people noticed that she waved, but wasn't sure of who she was waving out, so they turned around and nodded their at the short haired girl, who smiled shyly at them. She flipped through the pages of the script quietly by herself until she heard Phillipa's voice break through the silence.

"Des!" She said as she got up and walked to the back, sitting down beside of her. "You're finally here." She said with a small chuckle and Odessa nodded her head.

"Yeah, they had the wrong number so I didn't know that I had made it in." She said with a nervous chuckle. "So I have no idea who all got casted."

"I got Eliza!" She said, and Odessa high fived the other.

"I told you that you would." Dessa chuckled quietly as she looked around to see the cast. There were quite a few of them here, but she was excited. This opportunity could possibly mean that the girl would make more friends, which she was more than ready to do.

"Okay, everyone get on stage and we can sit in a singing circle!" Lin said, jumping slightly on stage which caused everyone else to laugh and slowly follow after him. Odessa followed after Phillipa, the two talking so Odessa didn't scan over the cast more than the one time. Once they sat down though, the girl's eyes started to scan over the cast, but she didn't get very far before her breathing stopped and she froze in place.

The girl's eyes were wide and she stared at the man in front of her for a few moments before she was sure he had noticed, so she looked down at her hands that were shaking slightly. 'No.' She thought quietly to herself. 'No, no, no. He can't be here.' She shook her head to herself as she glanced over at Pippa who was slightly oblivious to the girls panicking state. But when Odessa looked back up a second, it was obvious that the one person she didn't want to see ever again, was noticing how shaky she was.

The group went through the beginning of the musical, getting all the way to Farmer Refuted before they stopped for the day. By that point, Odessa had managed to not focus on the person who couldn't take their eyes off of her. She could feel it, every moment that she made was focused on by the man across the room.

Three years.

She sighed heavily at the end of the practice and quickly walked off stage, trying to avoid the man to the best of her ability. She wasn't sure how she was going to avoid him throughout this experience, so she could only hope and pray that he wouldn't try to talk to her.

But of course, as normal for the girl, her prayers went unheard.

"Odessa?" His all too familiar voice filled her ears, and she froze in her place. "Is that you?" He said quietly, and the girl chuckled quietly and slowly turned around to face him in all his glory.

"Yeah." She nodded her head, looking up at her old best friend. "Hello, Daveed." She said quietly. THe man reached out towards her slowly, his fingers trailing towards her hair that had once been long when they were still together. But the moment his hand extended towards her, the girl took a few steps away from him. Not in fear, but in anger.

"Yeah, I cut it." She said, taking a few steps back and stopping.

"I love your hair lon-"

"I don't care what you loved." She said, cutting him off in the middle of the sentence.

"But this looks nice on you too." He said, chuckling as he finished the sentence he had already started, more than used to the girls snippy attitude. The two had been best friends since they were about 5 years old, but after a huge fight, they had fallen apart and now they hadn't spoken in three years.

"Yeah, I know." She said, rolling her eyes at him.

"So, it's weird that we would meet up again in a musical, isn't it?"

"Sure." Odessa said as she glanced down at Phillipa, who tilted her head at the girl in a sense of confusion, noticing the discomfort in the girl's body language the longer the conversation with Diggs went on.

"Are you still mad at me?" He asked, and Odessa laughed out loud, once again rolling her eyes.

"No, I'm not mad!" She said before turning on her heel, and starting to walk away from man, but his hand gripped on her wrist.

"Des, please talk to me." He said, and the girl ripped her wrist from his grasp.

"Don't touch me." She said, quietly though, to not cause a scene on her first day of rehearsal, and she slowly shook her head. After that, the girl stepped out of the theatre as quick as she could, and instantly made her way back home.

Rehearsals were roughly every day, if not every other day depending on the week that they were on. Weekends were always off, so it just depended on what the cast and lin was feeling, and when they could show up. Odessa never missed one, since she never had any plans or anything that would interfere with showing up to practice.

Since the first practice, Odessa had started to grow close with Renee and Jazzy, who played Angelica Schuyler and Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds. The three of them hung with Pippa during most of their practices, along with Anthony Ramos who played John Laurens and Phillip Hamilton. The small group of people cracked a lot of jokes, and laughed together a lot. It was a nice change for the shy girl who wasn't sure how to make friends, since this came so naturally to all of them.

Daveed had attempted to communicate with Odessa throughout the weeks that had passed, but the girl simply blew him off each time. She didn't want to talk to him, she had no words for him. She would rather ignore him then trying to let him explain why what happened did happen. Petty of her, she knew, but she didn't care. He blew her off for three years, now it was her turn.

"Des!" Jasmine called out as she walked over to Odessa and threw her arm around the girls shoulder, pulling her close. "How're you?"

"I'm good! How're you?" She asked, before raising her eyebrow playfully at the girl. "How's Anthony." She said in a teasing tone, causing the girl's cheeks to turn a light shade of pink. Jasmine and Anthony had been growing closer since the rehearsals had started, which Odessa thought was adorable.

"He's good. He won't be here today, though. He had something with Daveed so neither of them will be here."

"Thank god!" Odessa cried out, throwing her arms up in the air. Jasmine tilted her head to the side, not completely sure why she was so excited about the absence. "I'm sad Anthony isnt here, but I'm glad Daveed isn't."

"Why?"

"We don't get along that well."

"Any particular reason?"

"Nothing I want to talk about right now. It's just awkwardly personal and I don't feel like having to explain it all right now. Maybe one day I'll be okay with talking about it, but not right now." Odessa said sighing, and Jasmine nodded as she hugged Des close.

"I understand, but I'm here if you ever want to talk about it." Jasmine said as she pulled back, before the two girls took their seats in the front, listening as Lin started to talk about everything they would be doing today, cracking a few jokes and taking a few selfies with the cast. Eventually everyone made their way up on the stage, sitting around in a circle like every time.

They had made it through the script about 3 times in the last two weeks, going back and forth between polishing some songs and just beginning to really get some of the songs down. All of which was okay with her, since she had completely fallen in love with this musical. She was completely obsessed with anything that had to with Hamilton and her co-workers.

Their practice got cut a little early, so Odessa exited the theatre and walked down to the coffee shop that her and Pippa had gotten coffee from the day of the first auditions. She ordered the same little mocha that she had gotten the other day before she exited the store again and started to walk down the street. Her eyes roamed along all the people, and she smiled at little children who she passed.

Ever since she got casted into Hamilton, the girl was happier than she had been in a long long time. Even though she had to look at Daveed every day, she felt as if she could actually move past all of those things, ignore him, and just focus on how to make this show a better experience for her and her cast mates.

Minus Daveed.

She arrived back at her house and collapsed in her bed, pulling out her cellphone and scrolling through her medias. As she was doing that, a single notification popped up from her twitter.

@ DaveedDiggs followed you!

The girls eyes instantly scowled as she clicked on the notification that took her to the mans twitter. She was brought face to screen with his twitter, seeing a picture of him smiling as his DP. She sat there for a few minutes, trying to decide on what to do. But in the end, the girl only locked her phone and put it on her night stand, attempting to go to sleep, deciding she would figure out how to deal with it in the morning.
