Chapter 2: Sudden Invitation
Shouto entered his office, slumping on his black wheeled professional chair that faced the looking glass overlooking the smaller buildings. Much of his headache, the main branch of Endevour(car brand) had been on his hands ever since he turned twenty. But seriously, he didn't even like the idea because the whole factory is from his FATHER. For all he knew, his father is an actual ass...he never experienced what it felt like an actual child.
In short, his childhood is ruined. Luckily, he met Izuku on the way, who became his very first friend of his age back then five years ago just as he started this career.
He smiled as he remember that fluffy green hair and cute freckled face as Izuku wrote an article about the new owner of Endevour company.
Shouto stretched and started to work on the never ending paperworks. Lunch came when he decided to grab himself some lunch in a nearby favorite restaurant.
Stepping in the restaurant, he was engulfed in the smell of fresh baked bread and strong coffee. He sat nearby the window and ordered a stomach satisfying food. Bored, he decided to look around to spot something interesting. That's when he noticed a blonde guy talking to someone just outside the restaurant. In a close up, he instantly recognized the guy, its their new neighbor.
Katsuki smirked as he talked to a spiky red haired guy with canine teeth as the two casually leaned on the black car. "Typical" he mumbled before shoving a spoonful of his food. Curious and bored, he continued to watch the two. For some reason his eyes lingered on the blonde stranger longer than he wanted it until their eyes met. Shoto waved at him in a bored manner and the guy simply nodded back, going back to the red haired.
"Ignored" he mumbled, finishing his food. Shouto made his way back in the company, now his turn to ignore Katsuki.
The rest of the afternoon is spent by slacking since he finished everything before lunch. On his way home, he spotted a green haired man on the entrance, probably waiting for him. A smile made its way to his face. After parking he wasted no time and approached Izuku, just to be tackled into a huge hug.
"I've been waiting for an hour" the writer said still engulfing the flustered business man. "Sorry, I was caught in the afternoon traffic" he explained, hands made its way around the writer's smaller body. He sniffed the fluffy green haired that tickled his neck. He smelled of soft vanilla. After releasing each other, they eased their way to the elevator chatting away.
The truth is, Shouto was unsure of what he and Izuku's relationship is. It's kind of complicated as if something has been missing. They actually talked about it a month ago after he had surprisingly told his feelings to Izuku. But nonetheless they were never in a serious relationship, no kisses or anything adult, just hugs and concerns. He ached for the young writer, yes, but he has to wait if he wanted things to turn out smoothly. It's weird how they were missing someone. A link of their love is chucked out.
"Katsuki" That cut off his thoughts. The blonde man leaned on the wall nearby the elevator door. Katsuki smirked in a friendly way and approached them as they walked out of the moving contraption. "Yeah, whatever. By the way, want to get dinner? I bought too much of the fucking ingredients and I thought, why not invite my new neighbors" the blonde guy growled with a light shrug. Izuku looked pleased but Shouto certainly didn't. He wanted to grab the writer and say no, he might be selfish for Izuku but who cares. "Sorry but we-" his words suddenly came out as a choke, Izuku had elbowed him, eyeing him with a very clear message: don't be rude. The writer might be a cinnamon roll but he was one damn tough cinnamon roll. "Thank you Katsuki. We're certainly happy to join you" he said with a very wide grin.
Katsuki nodded, then gestured us to follow him. They entered the first door nearest the elevator. "I don't mind you keeping your manners but as they said, I have somewhat of an anger issue..." The blonde guy said after unlocking the door and stepping aside for them to come in. The unit was the same as theirs except for the pile of boxes with scribbled words. "Ignore the boxes, just enter the kitchen" he ordered. Shouto backed away but Izuku grabbed his hand and they walked in.
To think that the dining table is already set...he really did planned. The oval black mahogany table was covered in thin silver silk, three marbled flower vases with red roses sat on the table with silver platters and folded white napkins. "Wow, this is amazing. I never thought your the type of person who enjoyed luxury" Izuku beamed, "I love it" that statement made a slight twist of jealousy from his heart. "I agree..." He didn't lie nor deny, the fact is...he was impressed.
"Thank you" the blonde guy cooed with a rough smile. He pulled out a chair and beckoned Izuku to sit. Suprised of how gentle he was, Shouto decided to stay low. He pulled his own chair across the writer and quitely sat. Katsuki was busy filling up some huge bowls of white soup and pulling out a roasted chicken out of the oven. Shouto looked at the fast but careful professional moves the blonde man had acted out. No sounds came out from the dining table except for Izuku's silent squealing in delight. The smell of the food even hit him harder, causing his empty stomach to yearn.
Soon enough, Katsuki placed all the dishes on the table. Too much for the three of them actually. The chef groaned in frustration, "why did I even bought this many?" cursing rainbows. "Why not invite the others? We have plenty of neighborhoods around, and some seats are vacant too" Shouto suggested, eyeing the bountiful food in front of him. The blonde man thought for a while, face slowly contorting to a cringe. "I guess it's fine, though, I'll only allow four more guests and that's it"
"I'll call them" The writer said filled with joy. "No, I'll go" the business man insisted but the chef slammed his hands on the dining table. "I pulled out a chair for you Izuku and I invited you two, so stay until dinner is finished. I won't let my guests leave the table unsatisfied" he growled then started marching towards the door, leaving the two sitting by the table and engulfed in silence.
Izuku let out a cute light sigh. "This day only gets better" he mumbled, forking a piece of cherry on the salad. Shouto gulped down a laugh, though his day only gets worse. "For you I guess. You had a nice career, nice family, positive outlook and supporting friends. I bet you'll be even more blessed by that pureness of yours" he explained, a smirk tugging on his mouth. The green haired man laughed, "I guess I'm blessed, I won't deny that. But I still have huge problems and stressed" he mumbled.
"Also with this hole in my heart" Shouto didn't react, he knew it already. He knew that if they continued on developing their relationship, they would instantly regret. Because their was a gap...another gap for something that confused the two.
What did fate store in them that they didn't know?
