Lyndsey's POV:

I came home from a coffee meeting with my publisher. I kicked off my heels and walked upstairs to my bedroom, where a note was waiting for me on my bed. I picked up the note and began reading, 

Lyndsey,
        Put on your best dress. Head back downstairs and hop in the SUV that I have arranged to pick you up in. I'll see you soon. 

Love, Niall

I am completely surprised. What is Niall doing? I dropped the note and quickly changed into one of my best dresses that was light pink. Once I was done getting ready, I grabbed my purse and ran down the stairs. I put some heels on and went outside. I saw a black SUV waiting for me. I made sure to lock the door before jogging down the stairs and hopping into the car.  

The driver drove me to the restaurant where Niall and I first met. At first, I assumed I would be meeting Niall here for a lovely dinner but instead I was delivered another note by the hostess. I walked back outside and opened the note which read,

Lyndsey, 
       Take the car to your favorite place on the beach. I will be waiting for you there.

I ran back to the car and gave the driver instructions on how to get to my desired destination. It took several minutes to get there but once I arrived. I left the driver without a second thought. I took off my heels and began walking on the beach, as I looked for Niall. I eventually saw Niall in the distance. He was dressed all fancy, as he stood in the center of some candles that were lit in the shape of a heart. Petals of peonies were laid out in the sand and a small table was behind Niall. 

I slowly walked over to Niall with my heels in my hands. When I reached him, I stepped over the candles to join him in the center of the heart. 

"Hello, Niall," I said. 

"Hello, Lyndsey," Niall smiled. 

"What have you got planned?" I asked. 

Niall reached out and waited for me to grab his hand. When I did, he gently stroked the top of my hand before pulling me close to him. 

"You look stunning," He whispered before placing his lips on my cheek for a quick kiss. 

"Why did you do all of this?"

Niall peered down at the ground before looking back at me.

"I know I have screwed up in the past but nobody has beaten myself up more than I have done to myself. I regret everything I have done to you because I know I hurt you. The thought of that pains me to no end. I know I can't change the past which is why I want to make sure that the future is everything you deserve," Niall explained. "My world revolves around you and without you in the center, is a thought that I cannot bear."

"Oh Niall," I cried as I gently touched his face. 

"I love you, Lyndsey," Niall proclaimed. "I don't want to be without you."

Niall led me over to the table where a scrabble game was laid out. There were four words set up on the board and they were, Will you marry me? I looked back at Niall who knelt down on the ground. He continued to hold my hand as he brought out an engagement ring and held it up to me. 

I immediately covered my mouth with my hand. Tears began falling down my cheek while Niall began to tear up. I couldn't believe this was happening! There were so many thoughts going through my head right now! Should I marry him? Should I say no? Will I be able to move on from the past? 

I let go of Niall's hand and turned toward the scrabble board. I grabbed a Y tile and placed it on the board. Then, I picked up the E, followed by the S so that it read, Yes. I turned back toward Niall who stood up. 

"Yes, I will marry you, Niall Horan." I smiled.

Niall's lips pressed against mine for a sweet kiss. I missed his soft lips so much! When we parted, Niall gently took my hand and slid the engagement ring onto my finger. I looked down at it and couldn't believe how perfectly it fit! I am engaged!

Niall pulled me in for a hug. He squeezed me tight before loosening his grip. 

"Niall," I murmured.

"Yes," He answered. 

"Can we play a round of scrabble?"

Niall laughed and chuckled, "Yes."
