Chapter Thirty-One
I need to find a way out of this place.
After the unfamiliar guys kidnapped me we drove for at least an hour before the car stopped and they transported me and Jenny into a warehouse similar to the one Liam took me to months ago when his car got shot at.
Jenny was easy for them to move since she was fast asleep. I don't even want to know what they did to make her sleep like that. But I didn't go without a fight. It took both of them to get my kicking and screaming body through the front door.
Once inside they quickly tied me up to a chair, the ropes tight and itchy against my wrists and ankles, and then they left me alone. Only Jenny, now also tied to a chair, was left with me.
At first I hoped she'd wake up just so I wasn't scared alone, but then I realized how selfish that was. It's better if she stays asleep, the poor girl doesn't need to experience this.
As time ticked on I carefully studied my surroundings. Grey cement floors, regular white walls, no windows which meant I was in a room that wasn't connected to the outside, and I wouldn't be able to tell if it was day or night if I was here long enough.
An ugly floral printed couch was pushed up against the back wall, and that was the only thing in here other than the chairs, Jenny, and me. This room was meant for holding people hostage.
Even if I somehow got out of this room I still had to make it to the front door or a window, and since I was flailing when they brought me in here, I didn't look around to see where the exits were. How could I be so stupid?
A loud bang from somewhere outside the room made me jump, and at first I was hopeful that Liam had come to rescue us, but the longer I waited without anyone coming through the door, the more doubtful I got.
Surely Liam would be at least looking for Jenny. Even if he didn't realize I was missing, he'd still find me just by finding his sister. I guess whoever took me did me a favour by taking Jenny too.
Dad was out of town so he wouldn't notice my absence. Steph might notice but I could see her writing it off as me being with Liam instead of going to school. She's too busy planning her revenge on Lisa to check if I was actually with Liam.
But since these people did take Jenny they must be the rival gang. Taking both Liam's little sister and his girlfriend was a planned attack against him.
But what could they possibly get out of taking us? What does Liam have that they want so badly?
I tried my best to come up with any possibility that would make this situation make sense, but by the time someone came back into the room, a couple hours later, I still didn't have any logical explanation.
"What do you want, why are we here?" I asked when the big guy that kidnapped me came walking back into the room.
He scoffed and rolled his eyes, obviously annoyed with my questions.
"Why are you doing this?" I persisted, my voice strong and demanding even though I was shaking in fear on the inside.
"I'm just following orders." He finally grumbled, giving me his meanies glare that told me I better be quiet.
I ignored his stare and tried a different tactic to get out of this mess.
I dropped my brave facade and begged him to let us go, "Please if you just let us go I won't say anything to the police. You haven't hurt me, I have no reason to turn you in if you just let us go."
"I can't do that." He stated, lowering himself onto the ugly couch as he checked his watch.
"Damn kid is never on time." He mumbled under his breath, but I still caught what he said.
What kid was never on time? Did he mean Liam? Did he make a deal with him so Jenny and I could leave? But Liam isn't the type to be late, especially for something this important. My small glimmer of hope died as soon as logic kicked in.
Maybe the big guy meant the scrawny guy that helped capture me earlier. That guy seems exactly like the type of person that's late for everything.
Terrifying minutes went by in complete silence, and I took that as my chance to study the man that kidnapped me. If I ever got out of this I want to be able to identify the people that took me.
I memorized his angry brown eyes, sharp nose, brown buzz cut hair, and muscular body, not caring that I was openly staring at him. I just wished he was wearing a short sleeve shirt instead of a black sweater so I could see if he had any tattoos.
Finally, at least half an hour later, another person entered the room.
"It's about damn time." The big guy muttered, standing up to meet an unfamiliar guy at the door.
"Oh calm down Russ." The new guy replied.
He looked to be maybe twenty years old, and the opposite of what you'd expect a gang member to look like. Bright blonde hair, blue eyes, fairly small and skinny. How did he get himself into all this?
"Well look who we have here. It's a pleasure to finally see you up close." The younger guy said to me.
My heart stopped, what did he mean by that?
"Usually when people are being watched they can sense it. But you had no clue. You're so oblivious." He continued, answering my unasked question.
My stomach turned and I felt like throwing up. I was being watched? These people are insane.
"Oh don't look so scared, I didn't see anything naughty." Now the younger guy was just taunting me.
"That's enough Westley, lets just do what we're here to do." Russ stopped the younger guy before he could terrorize me further.
"You're no fun old man." Westley grumbled, pulling out a cheap looking cellphone from his pocket as he spoke.
"What's the number again?" He asked, staring expectantly at Russ.
The big man took the phone without speaking and dialled a number before putting it on speakerphone.
I watched in confusion as they waited for whoever they were calling to answer. Why would they make a call, on speakerphone, with me in the room?
"Hello?" A familiar voice finally answered the phone.
"Liam help! It's Emma, Jenny's here too, please help us!" I frantically yelled before anyone could say anything else.
"Hey there Liam, we have your two favourite girls, give us what we want and you can have them back." Westley told him as he took the phone from Russ.
"I swear to god if you even touch one hair on their heads I'll kill you." Liam growled through the phone.
Westley laughed, "You'll have to find us first. Just give us what we want and you can have your girls back. It's that simple."
"Emma, hang in there I'll get you out soon. Everything is going to be okay. Can Jenny hear me too?" Liam ignored Westley.
"She's asleep, she's been asleep the whole time." I told him, and I didn't get to hear his response because Westley turned speakerphone off and exited the room with the phone pressed up to his ear.
"What do you guys want from him?" I demanded when Russ didn't follow after Westley.
"Someone will be in here shortly to explain everything." He replied, again looking at his watch.
I huffed out a frustrated breath, why can't he just tell me now? Why does someone else have to do it?
I didn't get to ask anymore questions before someone came back into the room.
I expected it to be Westley but I was shocked at the familiar face that walked through the door.
"Thank god you're here go take us home!" I exclaimed, my heart racing with excitement. This whole thing is finally over.
"Oh shut up Emma. I'm tired of hearing your voice." He snapped back at me, taking me completely off guard.
I was stunned into silence.
"I wish I could just end you so I wouldn't have to see or hear you anymore, But I don't need the cops breathing down my back right now." He seethed.
Why is he being like this?
"Stop looking so confused. Isn't it obvious by now? This is my gang. I'm the mole. I'm the reason you're here. And soon the whole town will be mine."

CLIFFHANGER! Who's the mole?! We know now that it's a he, but which he!?
