Baekhyun's POV

I wasn't looking forward to going to school the next day.

I really wasn't ready to face my current boyfriend and potential love interest because they were just a bunch of overgrown babies.

But I had no choice but to face my problems head-on the way my father taught me.

As soon as I arrived at school everyone gave me strange looks.

I knew it was about the fight the day before and how I was nowhere to be seen after school.

As much as I wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone I knew I couldn't avoid Luhan. He and I had had a long conversation about what happened.

The first person I saw was Kai leaning on his car by the parking lot with his team mates.

He gave me a serious look that demanded I approach him.

I took a deep breath before approaching him.

His friends immediately walked away giving us some alone time which I did not appreciate.

"What happened to you yesterday?"

"I was tired and left early" I responded with a frown.

"More like you were avoiding me"

"Okay maybe I was. You didn't have to start up a fight with Kris"

"So you're mad I hit Kris"

"I'm mad you started and unnecessary fight. Kris was annoying me but that wasn't necessary"

"Do you like Kris?"

"Am I with you or am I with Kris?"

"You're with me"

"Because I like you and not him"

"Okay fine. In sorry about yesterday. I lost my temper"

"In sorry as well. I should have made this more clear for Kris. I like you not him"

"Cool" he said before kissing me.

CHAPTER

Author’s POV

Finally the day of the musical finally arrives. Baekhyun felt even more nervous when he took a peek through the closed curtain just to see how many people had attended.

The school hall was packed full with both students and parents to watch the long awaited musical. He even saw Suho and Lay on the front row and as much as it made him happy he was more nervous.

Baekhyun knew he had talent. He knew he could sing and act like he had been doing it for years but he always had stage fright just when he had to do it in front of a big audience.

At that moment he received a text message and he couldn’t help but smile.

‘I can’t wait to hear that angelic voice of yours. You got this and just know we are proud of you.’

The message from his father gave him some confidence. He took a deep breath and prepared himself.

“Are you alright?” Kris asked as he stood next to the smaller male.

“I think so” Baekhyun responded with a smile.

“Don’t worry Baek. You are really good at what you do and after all that practicing nothing can go wrong”

“Thank you Kris. I needed to hear that. You’re not too bad yourself as well. This is going to be epic” Baekhyun said before walking away. But then he stopped and turned back to Kris one more time.

“Kris. I consider you a friend and if you’re willing to be one to me then we can talk even after the play. But if you continue to push me to be more then I will totally cut ties with you. It’s your choice. I’m happy with Kai and I would really appreciate it if you stepped back. I’m in a relationship. Accept it and be my friend or hit the road” with that said Baekhyun went his way and took his spot backstage before the curtains were raised.

“Congratulations you were all so awesome out there” Lay was so happy as he hugged all his sons including Baekhyun.

“Dad not here” Kyungsoo said as he took a step back not wanting to be embarrassed in front of his friends, “I’m going out with some friends to celebrate. I will be home later” and then he walked to his friends as they left in a rush.

“Are you two also embarrassed by my hugs” Lay said with a pout.

“Of course not dad. Just not in public” Luhan whispered causing Baekhyun and Suho to laugh and Lay pouted even more.

“Don’t worry honey. I love your hugs no matter where we are” Suho said as he wrapped his arm around his fiancé’s waist as he pulled him closer and kissed him.

“Euuuwwww…not in front of us. Oh the horror” Baekhyun said dramatically as he closed his eyes along with Luhan causing both parents to laugh.

“We will leave now. We know you kids want to go out and have some fun. Just remember the rules” Suho said.

“Yes dad we know. No drinking, no drugs and no sex” Baekhyun said dramatically.

“Good boy” Lay added before both parents left the pair.

“I’m totally breaking the rules because I’m definitely getting banged by Sehun tonight” Luhan said with a smirk.

“You know it” the tall male said as he appeared out of nowhere and kissed his small boyfriend.

“Oh no my virgin eyes” Baekhyun said dramatically as he covered his face causing Xiumin and Chen to laugh.

“Not for long considering the way Kai is looking at you right now” Luhan said causing Baekhyun to notice the male a distance away.

“Not anytime soon. That will not be something I give into easily” Baekhyun said before he said goodbye and met up with Kai who didn’t hesitate to kiss him.

“Congratulations babe. Your voice literally blew me away. It’s beautiful and unique. Just like you” Kai said before kissing him again.

“Thank you. Now that all this musical stuff is behind us I’m all yours. No more distractions”

“I like the sound of that” Kai smirked before kissing the smaller male again.

The next morning Baekhyun woke up with a smile on his face. He made sure he didn’t drink any alcohol since the last time he made a total fool of himself and he wasn’t in the mood for a hangover from hell.

As soon as he cleaned up the sweet smelling pastries made the kitchen his next destination as he joined his parents for breakfast. Kyungsoo and Luhan were not too far behind as they all sat down and enjoyed the goodies set out for them.

“So did you guys have fun last night?” Suho broke the silence.

“Awesome”
“Great”
“It was alright” all three boys spoke at the same time and it wasn’t clear who said what but from the grin on Luhan’s face he seemed to have had a lot of fun.

“That’s good to hear. As long as you were not up to no good” Lay said with his usual killer smile.

“Yes it was good” Baekhyun kicked Luhan under the table for him to realize what he had said, “I mean we were up to good stuff. Safe stuff” the small male gave an innocent smile even Baekhyun would have fallen for if he didn’t know what he had really been up to.

“We mostly hung out with our friends and went out for pizza” Kyungsoo said with a smile which not only shocked Baekhyun but scared the living daylights out of him. Kyungsoo never got involved in family conversation, let alone smile like that. He must have been up to no good. His suspicions were confirmed by his next words.

“I don’t know where Kai and Baekhyun disappeared to though. You two seemed cosy and then all of a sudden you were nowhere to be seen. Guess you needed some privacy”

“Who?” Suho asked in shock.

“Kai. His boyfriend. Baek you haven’t told dad about your boyfriend. They left earlier than us so I don’t really know what they were up to” Kyungsoo added innocently.

At that moment Baekhyun wasn’t sure if he should laugh, cry or scream. Luhan was too shocked to respond. Kyungsoo had basically spilled the tea every parent shouldn’t hear.

“You spend the evening alone with some boy?” Suho looked livid with this information.

“Dad nothing happened. We just hung out and…”

“ANSWER THE QUESTION”

“Dad nothing…”

“I SAID ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION”

“Yes…but…”

“YOU’RE GROUNDED”

“What? Why? I didn’t do anything bad. We just hung out”

“And you expect me to believe that. I haven’t even met this boy but it seems appropriate to you to ‘spend alone time’ with him. I didn’t raise you to be so irresponsible Baekhyun. You’re grounded for a week. Maybe you will remember everything I taught you and to follow all my rules”

“Dad you are totally bowing this out of proportion”

“2 weeks”

“But…”

“Say one more word and I swear I will ground you for a month”

“Aaarrrhgggghhhh….” Baekhyun screamed in frustration before rushing to his room and banging the door.

Suho was now in a bad mood and also stood up and walked out the door.

“We will be back later. I will bring supper” Lay said with a frown as he followed his fiancé.

“That was cold” Luhan whispered to his twin before following going to check on Baekhyun. Kyungsoo wasn’t affected as he smiled in satisfaction and finished his breakfast.
