I sighed and shook my head as I settled in the log cabin. The place that was supposed to be our home was empty besides me, my brothers otherwise occupied with their mates. But I didn't blame them at all, in fact, I was happy that they found their mate.

Tossing my feet up on the couch, I laid down and crossed my hands behind my head, looking up at the ceiling with another sigh slipping past my lips. Now that the youngsters were paired and settled for the future, I couldn't stop my mind from lingering in the past.

A past where I had already met my mate but for the safety of the both of us, I had to relocate my brothers and myself far away. My hand slid down my throat to the silver necklace, my thumb brushing over the trinket as my mind was filled with nothing but longing and sorrow combined.

I miss you...but you promised to come for me as soon as you took care of the threat. My hand clutched the amulet a little tighter before I slowly succumbed to sleep, dreaming of my long-lost mate.
