Peter Quill POV

After Drax and Gamora got inside our ship, I sped to the ground as fast as I could. Just a few seconds after we touched the ground, the other ship exploded. Everything that was off the ground near the explosion started to burn, the weird shadowy creatures too. They were screeching and flying around, crashing into each other. They started to burn to ash. Finally there was none of them left and we could see the sky again.

I was just about to go see with the others if Rocket was okay, when there was a giant roar coming from a distance.

"What was that?" Gamora asked.

"I am Groot?" Groot said, obviously just as confused as the rest of us.

"I do not know, but let us find out!" Drax said and started to run to the direction the voice came from.

We ran for a few minutes until we heard the voice roar again. We were getting closer. Soon we saw something really big moving to our direction. As it came closer we pulled out our weapons, ready to fight. But as the creature got closer, it didn't attack. The whole situation seemed actually really weird.

"Is that thing shrinking?" Drax asked, lowering his knives.

We just stood there and watched the creature come closer. It was green and only had some shorts on that were ripped from several different places but luckily they were still covering the guy enough. As the thing was shrinking before our eyes, it started to resemble a, man? His black hair had turned dark brown and now the way too tiny looking jeans were almost falling off of him. Finally the man was only a bit shorter than me and was looking at us with his brown eyes.

"Uh... Hi," he said awkwardly, while eyeing us warily, "I guess this isn't New York?"

The man took some broken glasses out of his pocket and looked us again. When his gaze stopped on Groot, he gulped and cleared his throat. "Huh, so this isn't Earth?"

"Wait, you're from Earth?" I asked and the man slowly nodded.

"That's awesome!" I exclaimed and made my way toward him stucking my hand out for him to shake. "Name's Peter Quill, but people usually call me the Star-Lord."

"No, they don't" Drax chuckled.

"I'm working on it, okay?" I sighed and rolled my eyes.

The weird man shook my hand. "I'm Doctor Bruce Banner, and I guess you already saw the other guy," he said whit a nervous laugh at the end.

"What do you mean, the other guy?" Gamora asked suspiciously,"you mean, you're not alone?"

"No, no, I mean, that green monster you saw. That was me. I call him the other guy."

"You can turn into a monster?" I asked. That sounded awesome!

"Yeah..," he looked nervously around and changed the subject, "so what is this place? Where am I?"

"I am Groot," Groot said to him and this caused the man look at Groot again.

"You can talk?" Doctor Banner asked incredulously, making his way to Groot.

"I am Groot!" Groot exclaimed, clearly offended.

"Sorry, sorry, it's just, this is really fascinating," and soon he started rambling on about some weird science-y stuff.

"This is Xandar. We can take you to the Nova Corps if you want or if you need help," Gamora offered.

"Nova Corps?" Banner asked.

"They're kind of like the police in here," I said, offering him a smile. It was cool to see someone from Earth after being away from there for so long.

"Oh, okay, thanks," he smiled and started following us as we began to walk back the way we came here.
I tried to make some sort of conversation with him.

"So, what brings you here?" I asked him.

"Uh, I'm not sure," he furrowed his eyebrows together,"I don't really remember anything when I am the other guy. All I know I went on a mission with my team and the next thing I know, I've apparently crashed here and some black things are trying to kill me."

"So that's why those things were here. They were after you." Gamora said.

"Yeah, I guess so," Banner answered.

After that we walked in silence until we reached the main building of Nova Corps. I was about to ask him of his team when someome yelled at us.

"Where the hell have you guys been?!" Rocket ran through the doors looking furious. "I tried to contact you like a million times but you didn't answer, the ship we found was a wreck and nobody knew where you went!"

"Aw, you care after all" I cooed while patting his head as I walked past him.

"Shut up, Quill," I heard him mutter, but I could tell he was smiling.

"Hey, who's this guy?" Rocked pointed at Banner.

"He's a man who has a monster inside of him," Drax stated.

"Okay, Groot?" Rocket asked again.

"I am Groot."

"Huh, that's interesting," Rocket said thoughtfully while looking Doctor Banner up and down.

"So what are we going to do to him?" the raccoon asked, looking at Gamora.

"We should take him to the Nova Corps and see whay they can do."

"Well, in that case, I know where we can find the Nova Prime." Rocket said and with that we all walked inside the building.

"Hey, Star-Lord! You're still alive!" some Nova Corps man walked past smiling as we entered the room.

I just nodded back and saw Nova Prime walking toward us.

"Well, looks like your idiotic plan worked, after all," she said.

"Hey!" Rocket exclaimed but Groot held him back.

"Your plan worked, but we are now terribly outnumbered and I'm afraid the next time we won't be able to stand against any invaders," Nova Prome smiled sadly.

"We can help," Gamora said.

"We know we can count on your help but I'm afraid even that won't be enough when it comes to protecting the stone during these, rather unsteady, times," she said.

"What's the problem? I think I know some guys who could help," Banner finally spoke up. I almost forgot he even was here in the first place.

"Who's this?" Nova Prime asked curiously.

"Doctor Bruce Banner. He crashlanded here and apparently those shadow creatures were after him. He says he's from Earth," Gamora answered.

"Another human? My brain almost explodes when I have to be with one human. How am I supposed to handle two of them?" Rocket sighed.

"Haha, very funny," I sarcastically responded to him.

Nova Prime ignored our comments.

"You could help? How?"

"Back on Earth, I have a team. We have saved the Earth many times before, so I'm pretty sure we could help you too," Banner said, obviously proud of his team.

"Really?" she said, "we would appreciate your help."

Banner nodded and smiled nervously.

"I try to contact some of our allies on Earth, maybe they could help too." Nova Prime said and called to her assistant. "Contact Maria Hill"

"Maria Hill?" Banner asked, he clearly knew the person.

"Yes," she answered,"now excuse me, I have to make a call."

She walked out of the room and we stood there for a few minutes in awkward silence. Finally the glass doors slid open and the Nova Prime came back.

"I mentioned Doctor Banner to Hill and looks like you two know each other," she paused to look at Banner's reaction,"she made clear she's willing to try and help if we'll be able to bring you back to Earth."

"But that's going to take ages! All your best ships were destroyed just an hour ago," Rocket said.

"Yes, I am aware of that fact," she sighed.

"What about Milano?" I suggested.

"You'd be willing to take him back to Earth?" Nova Prime questioned.

"Well, yeah. I haven't been home in a long time," I smiled.

"Are the other Guardians coming with you?" she asked.

"I am Groot!"

"Are you serious? We can't let that idiot go alone anywhere."

"We're his friends. We'll follow his lead."

"Earth has always sounded like a place I'd like to visit."

"It's settled then," Nova Prime nodded, you'll take Mr Banner back to Earth and then we'll see how exactly they are going to help us." She walked to Banner and shook his hand. "Good luck," she looked at us and then back to him,"you're going to need it."

This was going to be fun.
