The stench of orc wafts through the air, burning my nose with its strong odour. I slice the head off the filthy creature before me, grimacing as the black orc blood oozes out of the wound.
"Rose!" I hear my name called. As I turn to the source of the noise, a sharp pain enters my side. Before the world turns dark, the face of my beloved Elvenking looms above me, worry contorting his features.
-------
Third person POV
The King lifts Rose from the ground, his features displaying no emotion. His grey eyes are stone cold, piercing through anyone who dares to cross him.
By now, the orcs are slain or retreating. Elves take their breaths, then quickly move into the shadows of the wood. The Elvenking rides by, carrying an Elleth on his elk. None dare to question him.
When inside the secure castle in which he resides, Thranduil gently-although swiftly-carries Rose to the Healer.
"She needs medical attention. I expect the utmost care for her, and if she dies, I shall end your immortality." Thranduil gently places Rose on the bed.
Healers swiftly grab supplies, examining the condition of the Elleth.
"We need Kingsfoil, Meriel! Hurry!" The healer at Rose's side shouts.
"My King, the sword with which she was stabbed allowed poison to enter her bloodstream. If this poison is not extracted, she may die." The healer's words deliver a shock to Thranduil. For Rose to die would make him feel the stabs of a thousand poisoned knives in his soul.

Thranduil's POV
It has now been two days. The poison has been extracted from Rose, although her body remains at rest, healing itself. With the healing process taking longer than first considered, my worry continually grows. If Rose does not recover, I cannot bear to think of what I may become.
Lost. Again.
I can never become lost again. The first time caused great strife for my relationship with my son, my only living memory of my former wife.
Breaking my thoughts, I caress Rose's divine elven cheek. She will recover. Rose is strong, wilful, determined even. She will make it.
I smile gently as her pink lips, so kissable and perfect, part just slightly. Her dulled twinkling eyes open briefly, then look with an unfocused gaze. Her pain is evident. It is obvious the effects of the poison are still within her.
I take her small hand in mine, gently running my thumb over her knuckles. Her eyes focus on me, and Rose smiles. She smiles a dazzling, radiant smile that melts my frozen soul each and every time it appears.
"Hello, Thranduil," she utters. Oh my, how her voice sounds to my ears. It is hoarse from the lack of use, however it is melodious still. I sigh happily, relieved that she has finally awakened.
"Hello, Rose."
A/N
I am so sorry this took so long!! I have requests from months ago that I still haven't posted. Some of them I haven't even written😐.
My life has been very eventful as of late, to say the least, so I haven't been able to write as much as I would like.
To be fair, I am pregnant, so yeah. I know I shouldn't use it as an excuse but here I am doing so.
Anyway I will try to post more! I am on a short holiday at the moment, so I may write and post more.
With love,
Juju 😘
