Jealousy
Prompt- You make Thranduil jealous during the Battle of Five Armies
Warnings- none
(A/N- By the way, you're an elf. Also, in this imagine, elves can have more than one love.)
------------
You ride your black horse, Midnight, into the old dwarven village the men of Laketown are taking refuge in. You see King Thranduil of Mirkwood on his elk, talking to Bard of Laketown. You shake your head, smiling. Thranduil and those gems. Of course, that's the only reason he'd be here.
You see Bard look dumbfounded, Thranduil looking passionate. Probably talking about reclaiming the gems, you think. As soon as Thranduil rides off and the wagon of food is empty, you ride up to Bard.
"Hello, (Y/N). Have you come to talk King Selfish into not lusting after the gems?" Bard asks. You snort. "I tried that already. He left me in Mirkwood for it. That's why I'm here now,"you say, watching Thranduil ride away.
Bard follows your gaze. "He left his best guard in Mirkwood?"Bard asks. You sigh. "He banished the best. The second best, he left behind," you say. Bard nods in understanding.
You see Thranduil looking in your direction, a scowl deeper than ever etched into his features. You sigh, thinking that it's because you're supposed to be in Mirkwood. "He's spotted me," you say. Bard puts a hand on your knee and pats it, then removes it.
"Well, anyways, let's hope the dwarves don't want war," Bard says. You nod. "You and I both know those stubborn creatures will start war," you say. Bard sighs. "Sadly, yes,"he says, "anyways, you'd better head off. That elven king doesn't seem flattered that you're here." You sigh.
"Goodbye for now, Bard," you say, riding off.

Bilbo stands in front of the tent, pulling out the Arkenstone. Thranduil's eyes light up. You don't really pay attention until Thranduil hands you a wine goblet, eyeing you. You accept it and nod in appreciation, for it is much needed. He begins a monologue about dwarves and their stubbornness, to which you roll your eyes.
Gandalf stands next to you, with a hand on your shoulder. "He likes to hear himself talk," you whisper to Gandalf. He chuckles slightly. "I agree, dearest (Y/N)," Gandalf says.
You catch Thranduil eyeing you once again as you press the goblet to your lips. You swallow the wine and snort. Thranduil scowls at you, clearly unamused. "Did I amuse you, (Y/N)?" He asks, drinking from his own goblet. "Nope," you say, walking out.
---------------------
That night, you toss and turn on your makeshift cot, thinking of the blond- headed king. You do have feelings for him, but you'd never tell him that. Eventually, you get up and sit beside the fire, where Gandalf, Bard, Bilbo, and Thranduil are already seated.
"Hello, (Y/N). Trouble sleeping?"Gandalf asks. You sigh. "Yep. I guess I just miss my bed," you say, staring into the fire.
"Well, you should've stayed in Mirkwood," Thranduil says. You scowl at him. "With all due respect, I am your best guard. I'm expected to come with you," you say. He sighs.
"So, (Y/N) has told me that she believes the dwarves to be stubborn enough to start war," Bard informs the group. "Precisely," you say.
Bilbo scoots next to you and pats your knee. "Are you worried?" He asks. You shake your head. "No. Not really," you say. You look over at Thranduil. Big mistake. He's clutching a wine goblet so tightly, his knuckles are turning white. You sigh, then lean over to Bilbo.
"Whatever I do, just go along with it," you tell Bilbo. He looks confused until you put your head on his shoulder. He puts an arm around you, looking in Thranduil's direction. Then he realises what you're doing. "Making a king jealous?" He asks. You nod.

Dwarves, Elves, and Men against Wargs and Orcs. You slash heads off of orcs, not even thinking about it. Soon, you're fighting side- by- side with the elven king.
"Why do you do it?" He questions. You sigh, engaging in battle with yet another orc. "Can we not talk about this right now?" You ask, struggling to defeat the orc. "No. The matter must be addressed immediately," he says. You finally behead the orc and face another.
"With all due respect, Thranduil, I can't fight and talk about this at the same time. I will lose concentration,"you say. He clutches his sword tighter and beheads three orcs at once. "Well, you're doing it right now," he says. "I'm just barely," you say.
With that, the orc's head is lopped off, and the orcs start to retreat. "Azog's been defeated," you say, checking out the orc blood on your sword. Thranduil sighs. "We must speak of it now. If we don't, then the matter will never be sorted out," he says.
You sheath your sword. "First of all, I want to know why you lust after those gems. You don't need them," you say. The king looks as if he'd just been stabbed. "You're right. I don't need them, but there is one thing I do need. I was so blinded by the lust for those gems that I didn't see it before," he says.
You arch an eyebrow. "Also, I would like to know whether you were purposely making me jealous," he says. You laugh lightly. "It seems you've uncovered my plot. What am I to do?" You overdramaticise. Thranduil smiles slightly.
"You need to speak to Tauriel and your son as well," you say, walking off.

You arrive in Mirkwood and dismount Midnight. You leave the stables and go back to your chambers. Once there, you remove your armour, and take off your weapons belt. Your maid comes in, bowing slightly and then rising.
"The king requests your presence," she says. You nod and thank her. You know exactly where the king is.
You put on more suitable attire for the Captain of Guard, and go to the throne room, where the king is slouched over, tired and battle worn.
He sees you and straightens up, attempting to look more regal. You bow in respect, then rise. "I need to speak with you,"he says. You furrow your brows in confusion. "In private," he says. You nod, signaling other guards to leave.
"I'm afraid I didn't finish my conversation with you," he says. You clear your throat. "Was there something else you wanted to ask me before I left you standing there?" You ask. He sighs.
"Actually, I was going to tell you that you will no longer be Captain of Guard. You will, if you would like to be, become the Queen," he says. You say nothing, but stare at him in shock. He slowly descends from his throne as you begin to nod, not knowing what else to do.
A smile breaks across both of your faces, before your lips connect.
Making Thranduil jealous was the best decision ever.
