Thursday evening my husband and I lost our elderly cat, George. He had presented with pancreatitis, which turned into a bowel obstruction we elected to try surgery for, which turned into a phone call at 2 AM and subsequent euthanasia.

We are both devastated. It will probably be a little bit until I'm really active again, both due to this and because we are going to be in Seattle for a week.
