Log 127 - Today was amazing. To start, I woke up and the ship was in perfect position on our orbit to behold the Earth in all her glory. I had breakfast with a beautiful view and a sense of contentment in the pit of my stomach, along with some newly cooked pancakes.

 As I stared out the port window, I noticed something. A rock about the size of a watermelon drifted slowly by the window. Ordinary, in a void of destroyed comets and meteors, that wouldn't have been an odd thing. The odd thing was that the rock was glowing, and eerie blue haze.

I was curious as to what it was so I, using an Outer Shell Robotic Prosthetic (OSRP), brought the rock into an examination chamber. It was there, after great examination, that I discovered something incredible.

The rock was an element never before seen on Earth, and was simply bursting with energy. A square-inch had twice as much electricity than a lightning bolt. 

I ran to the window and found that the ship was drifting into a minefield of the new element. As fast as I could, I grabbed was many rocks as possible was more OSRPs. 

When I was done, I had about 100 or so rocks. Some were fist-sized and others were as big as a bathtub. 

To my surprise, I found that the energy could be extracted from the element and used to power our devices! Whole, sustainable, clean energy!
