Writer Memes

Some writer memes I've made, for your enjoyment

oh, Steven, you are a character, but you're also great, and this meme template will live forever thanks to you

anyway, here's my hot take: head-hopping certainly isn't a good idea much of the time, but it definitely is sometimes, especially in climaxes with multiple major characters, or in situations where you need to zoom in and out of various people's emotions (for examples in Gravity Rises, see HW P13 and TTF P8)

Emperor's New Groove mood (sponsored by whichever Gravity Rises character did something unexpected, maybe Gideon Northwest)

did I make this while I was supposed to be working on the end of Gravity Rises? yes, yes I did XD

Well I hope you liked those! I'm posting this chapter in the Gravity Rises: Bonus Content book too, since that book tends to get more traffic I think.

I also have a dilemma that I want some opinions on. I wrote a bunch of small pieces for a creative writing class this summer, and I want to post eight or nine of them once I finish posting all of Gravity Rises. One of them is a Gravity Rises poem, so that'll be posted in GR BC, but the rest of the pieces don't really have a place to go. This book has some drabbles, but it's getting up to the 200 maximum parts (yes, half are drafts, but I don't wanna delete the drafts, and they still count toward the max), and I also don't want my pieces getting lost here anyway. I could also make another book entirely, but eh, I don't really want to do that.

My best option, as far as I can tell, is to revamp my book Eyes Go Optic (Gravity Falls One-Shots) into a general drabble/one-shot book. That book has less than 1K reads, but if I market it as "Gravity Falls and other fandoms and original things to pass the time until I start posting original works," then maybe it'll get more readers? It also could use a different cover for sure, and possibly a different title (although even without a Gravity Falls context, or even without its original context in an Imogen Heap song, I just like the phrase "eyes go optic").

I would probably post one new work a week after finishing GR, and I'd probably advertise that book as the main one I'll be posting in. I could also repost some of the drabbles in this book, like the poem "The Girl with No Umbrella" or the short story "A Horror Story (Starring: Stanford Pines)." So, what I want to know from you is:

1) Have you read anything in the book Eyes Go Optic?

2) Are you interested in reading original pieces (short stories, poems, even creative essays) after Gravity Rises is over?

(I mean, I asked that same question four years ago, and of the 19 people who have responded saying "YES I'll stick around!" only 6 have, in fact, stuck around... and GR isn't even over yet)

3) Are you willing to go add Eyes Go Optic to your library, to prepare for when I start revamping it and posting new drabbles in it?

4) Will you be waiting/hoping for new original novels from me? I haven't decided how much I'm going to post my various stories/drafts, because I don't know exactly what I'll be writing after GR, but I definitely think I can post my stories here and then take them down if/when I query them. I'm also going to be taking another creative writing class from January to April 2022, so I may or may not write things there that I wanna post here.

(Wow y'all, can you believe I'm graduating with a bachelor's degree in April? Crazy.)

5) What kind of cover/title for my revamped Eyes Go Optic would be interesting to you, or do you think would be interesting to others?

6) Do you have a different and maybe better idea for where/how to post my current drabbles and new content? I might also make myself a writer Instagram account (that's public, unlike the private account that I have now), but idk when that would happen.

I'm happy to have some original content to share after GR ends. So make sure to follow her, too, and stay up to date!

Anyway, thanks for looking at my memes and reading my rambles!
