Welcome to my random book! Let's just dive right in, shall we?

So I was angsting about writing earlier, and somebody suggested listening to new music and then just writing whatever comes to mind. Well, when I read that message, I happened to be listening to the Spotify playlist "Stress Relief," so I pulled up Microsoft Word (aka the holy grail of word processors) and just wrote, and here's what happened:

"You're sitting in a tree. No, not just sitting. You're lounging, draped over a perfect branch that's long and thick and curves up, leaving the perfect place to rest. You can see the other branches of the tree around you, of course, and the trunk a foot or so away. However, your eyes are on the area around the tree. You're high up—not the tallest thing in the area, but high enough to see far around you. The ground beneath you is still, save the waves of wind that roll over the long grass. The wind doesn't reach you here in your tree, but you can see its effects all around. Leaves waving at you nearby, branches bending lazily above, and the endless rolling green grass below. The day isn't quite bright; in fact, it looks like it might rain soon. But it isn't cold, and it isn't dreary. The sun is low enough in the sky that it shines, despite the rainclouds that surround it. In the far distance, mountains curve up around you, creating a big bowl of rich green peace that's all yours to enjoy. The blue and grey mottled sky finished the rest of the sphere. It's hard to believe there's anywhere in the world but where you rest now, in your tree, just you and the wind and the grass and the sky. It's all yours, and it's all perfect.

You fall asleep in your tree."

It actually really helped, if only to de-stress (although my solution to my writing problem did come some hours later). I liked how it turned out, so I decided to share it with you guys. I find I tend to describe landscapes and surroundings when I just let my writing go wherever it wants. Either that, or extreme sensory detail.
