First Day on the Job

Aurora was still getting used to the clothes of this world. Regina had always worn nice stuff to her job, was Aurora didn't think it necessary to. Why shouldn't jeans and a simple pink shirt be okay? The job was only temporary anyways.

After she got ready, Aurora kissed Phillip and their baby goodbye. She knocked on the door of the room next door. Mulan opened it and smiled. She was dressed, but her hair was pulled back into a messy bun that looked very rushed.

"Are you ready for your new job?" Mulan teased.

Aurora shrugged. "Who knows? Something crazy could happen that can't be fixed without Dark One magic and we'll all be screwed."

"Don't be so negative," Mulan chided.

August was the first to arrive at the town hall. He unlocked the door to the office the four co-mayors had decided they would use. Aurora arrived shortly after him, and he was glad he wasn't the only one who had dressed casual. She was holding a cup of coffee, and suddenly August was a bit irritated at himself that he hadn't thought to do that.

It didn't take long for Tinker Bell and Archie to arrive. Tink sat down in a chair next to Aurora, and Archie stood with his back against the wall.

"So what are we supposed too do?" Aurora asked. "I mean...what does Regina do all day?"

"Kiss Robin Hood," August muttered.

Tink began to giggle. "You're probably right."

"I think Aurora's question was serious," Archie said, trying to take charge, but knowing that he probably wouldn't get anywhere.

"I was being serious," August argued.

Aurora rolled her eyes, but she was suppressing a smile.

Lily was having mixed emotions about only having broght a backpack to Storybrooke with two outfits and a pair of pajamas in it. On one hand, it would be easier to pack everything up for her trip back across the town line. On the other hand, she was constantly having to wash the small amount of clothes she had brought so she had clean clothes to wear.

She was counting down the days until she could leave. Not including the other universe, Lily had been in Storybrooke for three days. Four days until she could leave, since she had promised Maleficent she'd stay for a week.

At first, Lily wasn't sure if she was going to leave. But the more she dwelt on her accidental dragon transformation, the more afraid of her own magic she became. Once she was out of Storybrooke and the magic inside of her was dormant again, she could go back to living her life lead by Emma's darkness.

But she still planned on talking to her mom about Aurora. She had watched Sleeping Beauty three times since the Apprentice had told her Maleficent was her mother, and she knew Aurora and Maleficent were bound to have a heated past. But it had never occurred to Lily that the Charmings weren't her mother's only royal enemies.

Four days and the mayor job had been nothing too difficult, considering no one knew exactly what a mayor even did. Well, everything was calm until someone pounded on the door four days after Storybrooke had been tipped on its head by the heroes' disappearances. Tinker Bell opened it and Maleficent strode in, facing Aurora. Tinker Bell was ready to use magic to prevent anyone from dying, but instead of a fight, Maleficent opened her mouth and spoke five words no one could have ever guessed would pass through her lips.

"Aurora, I need your help."
